Thanks for enjoying us as owners. Carpets and bathroom vinyl are definitely the next upgrade. It was in our short range until Hurricane Harvey recovery jumped ahead of this. We have upgraded all the other flooring. Honestly, our goal is more warm and welcoming than 5 star. But then we usually hear that our price for a 4 bedrooms, walk to the beach home in the heart of Old Town with a heated salt water pool is below market. We also have continued to allow 2 night stays to give visitors an affordable vacation in a restful cottage.

We were next door and could have helped you reset the plugs in the kitchen if you had asked. They all work but can trip in the wet area if exposed to water. We have regular pest control and can call for a retreat anytime you let us know that the heat or dryness has caused the beach bugs to break in.

I will take the high road here as most of your comments are just not true and none were shared until a week after you left and I did not give you the refund you demanded. I can see that everything got off to a rough start when we could not let you arrive days early when you asked with no notice. With just a little notice we try to let folks in early or add days. I know you did not realize you needed to accurately tell us how many people will stay at the house and were not pleased when we kindly shared this. Actually the 6 extras were very nice and repeatedly told us they loved the house. With 2 huge dogs you expected us to clean up after, the yard did get a bit messy. We ask guests to police pets as soon as possible. High winds did damage our electric line but we have a great electrician who gave you uninterupted service while he responded immediately to repair. We ask guests to handle their trash cans, sorry you were upset by this. It just became easier for us to do this for you. This is a 1940's beach house and we price it as just that. Your cleanliness issue was about our outside paint job! We do try to powerwash each season but it was pretty cold this winter before your arrival. We have great housekeepers who would come do a touch up anytime- just tell us if something was missed. We do not control the winds or mistakes by the water company but gave you a refund for inconvenience because we try to do the right thing even when an intention to retaliate is clear.

Thank you for your review. The house is under a maintenance contract for pests. Unfortunately, the Palmetto bugs can fly over the barriers even with quarterly treatment. We can always request a re-treat if you let us know.
