The old motor lodge re-invented! We recently took two hotel rooms and combined into one nice kitchenette suite. All new bathrooms, kitchens, doors, windows, lock system and furniture. Still has the old radiators and wall mounted AC units that we just couldn't find a way around, but they work great! An excellent base camp to enjoy the Black Hills and Badlands. Owners are avid hikers and mountain bikers who have lived in the area their entire lives. Happy to help get you pointed in the right direction.

The Sojourn Vacation Rentals and Flats offers modern, fully furnished flats in Rapid City, SD. Rooms include a kitchen with a full refrigerator, microwave, cooktop and dishwasher. They also include a living space and private bedroom. There is a patio available for guest’s relaxation and enjoyment.

The Sojourn is conveniently located for travelers looking to visit Mt. Rushmore, the Black Hills, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Sturgis, and more. This property is nonsmoking and no pets.

The kitchenettes are perfect for the vacationer or longer term out of town employee who needs some local housing. Located on Mt. Rushmore Road. 1.5 miles to downtown Rapid City, 26 miles to Mt. Rushmore. Local hiking and biking trail heads as close as .5 miles from property. Great selection of restaurants and stores in walking distance. .75 miles from Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Extra notes:

We use the KeyCafe automated check in system so you can arrive any time after 3pm.  The booking code and instructions will be sent via txt and email on the day of arrival.  Of course, we are happy to assist!  If we aren't on the property when you arrive, we are nearby.

Another great stay

We've stayed at Sojourn before, which is the reason we opted to stay again. We appreciate having the kitchen available. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable.

Great location for Mt. Rushmore

The place was as described. Not as clean as I would prefer but decent. The location was great. This was a one night stay to see Rushmore and Devils Tower. I would stay here again if it was another quick stop.

Nice little place

The place was clean and comfortable. When I was in need of items the manager was responsive and items were received promptly. I intend on booking my additional trips at this property through next year. Checking in and out are VERY convenient and simple.

Inexpensive Family Stay

Simple and basic accommodations for our family. The beds were a little small and the area wasn’t fancy but it did the trick. Ended up needing more garbage bags but couldn’t find anymore. We would stay again.

Great Value for price

Considering the lower price point I was very impressed with the unit. Sometimes quality lacks in cheaper units but this was not the case! Clean and comfortable for our stop over in Rapid City. Loved it so much we'll be booking a longer stay on the same property on our way back through!

Great value

Great value for the price. The unit looks exactly like the pictures. It was cozy, comfortable & convenient to all the sights we wanted to see. We didn't realize it was Sturgis Bike Week, so it was a little noisy, but we had no issues. Thank you!

Location

Easy to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Needles Highway. Stayed middle of October. Good weather, little traffic and no lines. Having the kitchen and utensils served me well. Price was fair. Culver’s only 250ft away (can’t go wrong).

Easy motel like stay

This is a converted motel. You get two rooms. A bedroom w/ two beds and a combined living room/kitchen with a door between the rooms. Clean. No hassle checkin. No surprises.

Perfect!

My son and husband stayed here. They were in the area to bike, hike, and take in all that the area has to offer. They were impressed with how easy it was to obtain key. They were thrilled with the amount of space. I had sent all of the food for them to cook and they said the kitchen space was perfect. They said they'd highly recommend!

Enjoyed our stay!

Our family of 5 was traveling on vacation through Rapid City and had a wonderful stay here. Everyone slept well (much better than the previous 2 nights in hotels) and my husband said out of all the places we stayed the beds here were the most comfortable! The place was well stocked for cooking our breakfast both mornings. And check in-check out process was quick and easy. Finally - -we blew a circuit on our last morning there. The office was a quick phone call away, even early in the morning, and we were able to get the electricity fixed very quickly! Thanks for the wonderful stay! If we are ever traveling through Rapid City again, we would definitely stay here again.
