We only allow dogs in our pet friendly rooms. One dog is free, but the second is an additional $25 one time. Please let us know if you are bringing a second dog.

Apartment 110 at The Sojourn is a stylish 1-bedroom unit on the ground floor. Two double beds and a sleeper sofa, perfect place for a family to spread out after a day of site seeing! This is a quite 1BR apartment that you have all to yourself. Park right outside your door! Walk to restaurants, or a grocery store if you prefer to spend the night in! The Sojourn Vacation Rentals and Flats offers modern, fully furnished flats in Rapid City, SD. Rooms include a kitchen with a full refrigerator, microwave, cooktop and dishwasher. They also include a living space and private bedroom. There is a patio available for guest’s relaxation and enjoyment.

The Sojourn is conveniently located for travelers looking to visit Mt. Rushmore, Black Hills, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Sturgis, and more. This property is nonsmoking.

The kitchenettes are perfect for the vacationer or long-term resident who needs some local housing. Located on Mt. Rushmore Road. 1.5 miles to downtown Rapid City, 26 miles to Mt. Rushmore. Local hiking and biking trail heads as close as half a mile from The Sojourn. Great selection of restaurants and stores in walking distance. Less than a mile from Rapid City Monument Hospital.

Extra notes:

We use the KeyCafe automated check in system so you can arrive any time after 3pm.  The booking code and instructions will be sent via txt and email on the day of arrival.  Of course, we are happy to assist!  If we aren't on the property when you arrive we are near by.

A fair deal

I booked the room for my dog and I to stay for a night during Sturgis. Even the cheap hotels in the area were charging outrageous prices ($400-600/night). I very much appreciate the host didn’t participate in the greediness. The place was clean and the kitchenette was stocked with dishes and utensils.

Best place for the price in Rapid City

Comfortable, clean, modern, just plain awesome for the price. Next to a busy street but you don’t hear a thing - well insulated. The Sojourn is my go-to when I’m in the Hills.

Ok, but disappointed

The lack of attention to detail of cleanliness left us feeling uncomfortable. There were dried pieces of food and dead bugs in the refrigerator and the top of the refrigerator was was covered in dirty dust and many dead bugs, as if it hadn't been cleaned in years. The ceiling lights also had dead bugs in them. The window sill in the beadroom was also very dusty. It made us wonder if the owner ever went there to inspect the work he was paying for. It also made us feel that the carpet had probably never been cleaned either. The furniture is old and cheap and the coffee table in the living room was very wobbly. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. The pictures in the listing made the place look a lot better than it actually was. We had to keep the bedroom door closed at night due to the amount of light coming in through the translucent window in the front door. This caused the bedroom to be warm because the A/C unit was in the kitchen. The kitchen was not well equipped. No seasonings, a few old pots and pans. Plates and flatware were adequate. The area where the building was located was ok. Felt like a lower income area but we had no problems. Stayed there 6 nights April 2024.

One night stay

Our one night stay was the first stop in our 3 week long adventure with my daughter, grand daughter and myself. The space provided us with a comfortable evening and a good night sleep.We appreciated the full size refrigerator.

Was told unavailable then booked later

When I originally tried to book I was informed that it wasn’t available. I booked another property and the next day was emailed that the booking went through. Got no portion of the price refunded not even the cleaning fee. The property management was not communicating at all during the whole process.

It was wonderful to have a studio kitchenette at my disposal as I have dietary restrictions that can make it hard at times to eat out. Also, everything was set up conveniently as if I was a family member coming to visit with a laundry facility on site with a vacuum cleaner at our disposal as my fur baby sheds a lot year round. I used once during the middle of our stay and again the morning we left, we stayed almost a week while we were roaming the Black Hills area. Our first night there, we had power issues, called the number available. Tommy was awesome, instructed me on how to reset the electrical issue from our room without difficulty then never had another issue the rest of the time. Have shared these details with my daughter who has been to the area twice and but had never thought of using Rapid City as a hub for her vacation jaunts. She is excited to try The Sojourn on her next trip. Thank you so much, we will return again if you have an available rental when we come!!!
