Beautiful house and gorgeous view. We had a lovely 10 day stay with 8 adults. Kitchen was very well stocked. Deck and beach were spectacular!

Frank was informative. He gave clear instructions on access, which was smooth. The place was great, perfect for our group. It has a big downstairs area with a separate kitchen, which was great for our needs. There is a lot of art and sculptures, with a very clear aesthetic. The giant windows were beautiful. The space was clean. The stove was big and the kitchen was very well stocked.The only hiccup we had is some confusion on the check-out time as the time in the app was different than the host's expectation.

Beautiful We were 9 people altogether, including some serious cooks with serious skills. We made great use of that lovely well-stocked kitchen, appreciating it all while simultaneously drinking in the amazing view.

Amazing Stay at Otter Point House

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Otter Point House. Clean, well equipped, very comfortable beds and rooms, and the views are out of this world. We saw wildlife including Bald Eagles, Otters, and Seals. Close to Victoria, but also loved our drive to Port Renfrew….and the Port Renfrew Pub was amazing!

Very lovely and beautifully designed house. Spectacular views, and roomy enough for a large family. The location is excellent for connecting to many nature outings.

Beautiful house in an incredible location

The property was exactly as expected from the photos - beautiful, clean, and with all the facilities you would need.Communication with the host was excellent, and they were very responsive and helpful.No complaints at all and I would highly recommend - we will stay here again when we are back in the area!

Reunion Stay

Such a beautiful place for our class reunion. Plenty of space, well appointed kitchen and beautiful views and wildlife spotting. Excellent location and communication with host.

This property was amazing for location. The large viewing windows with a view of the olympic mountains were awesome, and the place was well supplied with tools for cooking. Pictures are accurate as to what you can expect. Our family of 7 adults and 2 young kids were very comfortable with sufficient space for all. They do ask you to keep the heat at 20 so pack along slippers and extra layers if you get cold easily, but that did not detract from the experience. We would gladly stay there again in a heartbeat.

Excellent family gathering place

Spectacular views greeted us as we enjoyed our family gathering here. The property has a great layout; the bedrooms were comfortable; and the kitchen was well appointed. We saw whales, eagles, dolphins and sea lions- all from the property! And the private cove was a perfect place to fish, snorkel and paddle board. What a great place!

Otter Point House was perfect for our large family. Lots of space, right on the ocean. Derek and Fred we're excellent communicators. Highly recommend!

Friends Together

Six of us from Ontario exploring the island stayed here for 4 nights. Lots of room, we had everything we could possibly need, views could not be better, beds comfortable and showers great. A wonderful time was had by all at Otter House.

This property is absolutely gorgeous - from the interior details to the ocean right at the balcony. The property has two staircases that walk down to the beach area and even connects to the property next door if you book them as well. Inside, you have a beautiful living room area that looks out to the beach and two spacious kitchens for a family dinner. The bedrooms are spacious and many bathrooms are available.I did not put full stars on some things and I would like to clarify: 1. Miscommunication - I truly believe it was the VRBO app getting messed up but I had 2 chats going with the owner at some point and I think this is what caused the miscommunications. When we first booked, we mentioned we were having a wedding next door and both of our families were staying at the two properties. A few months down the line, I messaged again regarding the property (after already booking and confirming), the owner then mentioned he was not aware of this discussion even though it was in the earlier chat. Then later, we had reached out for an early check in, it was approved, but later, we had received a message saying this was not approved. It was quite confusing and frankly, made us as guest look worse and it lead to a confusing time. 2. Cleanliness - Because we arrived earlier and the cleaners were not aware, I think this threw them off a little with cleaning. We told them we could come back later but the cleaners insisted we could stay nearby. While they were cleaning, we walke

Beautiful house & helpful host

I stayed here with a group of friends in Dec 2024. It was clean, easy to access from Sooke, and the host was very clear and helpful in communicating everything we needed to know about check-in and rules. It's a spacious house with a beautiful view across the ocean from the enormous windows in the main room. The short walk down to the rocky beach is also very nice. I'd happily stay here again.

A Property that lived up to Expectations

We had a lovely stay at Otter Point House. The location was fabulous and the house a pleasure to visit. Well equipped in kitchen and bathrooms. Private beach was amazing. Perhaps a little tricky with small kids and the lovely artwork and sculptures but we managed to avoid trouble. Good communication with the property managers too.

Perfect spot for a family getaway

3 days of meals around the big table cooked in a well stocked kitchen that has room for some to sit and relax while other cook (we like to socialise while prepping dinner). Comfy beds (as long as you put smaller people on the Murphy bed), plenty of room for some to read and relax while other play cards or watch a movie. Good showers and lots towels. The beach is remarkable! Highly recommend

Wow! Fantastic place!

Fabulous location right on the water. Convenient just outside of Sooke where the cliff jumping at the pot holes is not to be missed. Great views from the great room, master, and decks. Saw seals and whales right out front. Better than a paid whale watching tour. Comfortable beds and furnishings. Had a wonderful time. Thank you for sharing this gem!

Stunning Views

Very spacious house with amazing views. Plenty of linens, towels, and kitchen equipment. Quiet and nested in the woods. A seal came up on the rocks for several days for us to enjoy viewing. Host immediately responds to all email questions. If you like nature this is a great place to stay both for the stunning house location but also for hiking, biking, and kayaking.

Mesmerizing views

The views from this property are absolutely amazing! We had an eagle eating its catch right in the 700-year-old tree in front of the living room. The beds are super comfy, the house is very clean and it is stocked with all that you need. The welcome basket was a very nice surprise. We had a memorable girls' getaway and want to thank the host for our time here. We will be back!

Amazing Stay!

Amazing stay as usual. We first visited OPH in September 2020 and were taken away by the hospitality, in addition to the orcas in the morning. Fred was very responsive, and welcomed us to the home with a welcome basket full of gifts and a nice local Gin. The home was clean and equipped with everything we needed during our stay. Would recommend anyone who is looking for a great relaxing getaway to book with Fred! Will definitely be returning to OPH. Until next time

The Otter House

The house is gorgeous and would definitely stay there again. Peaceful, clean, ample space and a very well stocked kitchen for anything you might want to make. The artwork throughout the house is spectacular! It is a little difficult to find - especially at night because of the house number location. I would advise showing up during daylight hours if you can unless familiar with the area.
