As you drive out of Kerikeri we are just 10min of windy rural roads down into the historical Waimate Valley where many Maori settlements existed and where the Missionaries chose to set up the first buildings, bridges and exotic ochards due to the highly fertile volcanic soil. Even Charles Darwin was here!
Its rolling hills and rivers and clean spring water was a huge attraction, but one of the best attributes is it's location. Privacy! surrounds by farmland and forest, with no neighbours in sight yet close enough to town shops and major retailers, to pop in and get supplies. There is some lovely popular local restaurants and vineyards this side of town, only a few minutes away, along with the newly built Bay of Islands Airport.
Most useful for our guests, and us is the central location to the top travel destinations Northland has on offer, inc some hidden Gems. Including Nga wha Hot springs, Puketi forest, Bay of islands and the West coast with its cycle trails, walks and historical landmarks and buildings
The property is a slice of paradise to us. We are Kaitiaki, (Guardians) of this Whenua (land) and love improving on the ecology to encourage more wildlife and add to the diverse ecosystem made up of wetlands, streams, ancient forests and agroforesty and permaculture techniques implemented.
