Condo was clean. View is beautiful and amenitites were great. We had to contact the host because she forgot to send us the code to get into the condo itself. After 3 attempts she replied.

Ok in the end

Nice condo - attractive decor, good view of the lake, nice that it allowed a pet - but needs a little maintenance TLC (gas fireplace didn’t work, broken toilet paper holder in the bathroom whose door doesn’t fully close, several burned out light bulbs.) Biggest problem was check in - the code to get in the building didn't work. Neither the "client contact" nor the owner responded to emails or phone calls. We called Evolve, who manages the reservations. We were advised to give them an hour to get an answer (e.g., from the owner); meanwhile we were invited to go to dinner and submit the receipt for reimbursement (15 per person, but we'd JUST eaten and weren't hungry.) We were told if the issue wasn't resolved in an hour we could call back, and they would cancel our reservation, refund our money, and suggest a couple other places we could try, but we'd be on our own to find lodging. Fortunately we were able to track down the phone number to another management company who also manages some of the units on the property, and they were able to give us a temporary code to get in the building so we could in the end access our unit and have a place to stay that first night. Turns out the building codes had changed the prior month, the owner hadn't paid attention, and nobody had notified Evolve who was sending out the check in instructions. We were the "lucky" first ones to encounter the new codes. We did get a real building code the next day, so ended up with the access we needed.

Beautiful location

PROS: Views were beautiful. The pool, hot tub and beach we went too were very well kept and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again but not sure if we would stay in this particular condo. CONS: Prior to arriving (Friday before) I had emailed the owner because we hadn't received separate email from association for amenities info and access as stated and received no response. Thankfully, one of the employees at the pool helped us get in contact. We didn't know access code for the other pools and amenities until mid week. The Condo, although nice, had some circular stains on the carpets and odor that smelled of animal urine. We understood that pets were welcome but if a pet deposit is charged they should use it to properly clean. The toilet paper holder in the 2nd bathroom was broken off the wall. When I emailed the owner a picture the day of our arrival, again, no response and then the email came back undeliverable. The air conditioning did not stay on and we had to turn it back on every few hours even though it was set to auto. The beds were not that comfortable and the sheets were........let's just say, they really should get new ones. They literally had "cloth pill balls" on them.

Mariners Landing

The view from the condo was so beautiful, it’s the best view on the lake. The condo was very clean. When we arrived the AC was broken & we went without it until Monday. It was August so it was very hot. Another problem was the ammenties there were only a few towels and toilets paper no tissues, etc. Bring your own. We did but also had to go buy some.

Smith Mtn Lake Rental

This condo is fantastic! It was just as nice as seen in the pictures. The location on the lake is also excellent. Quick travel to several areas for family activities. Our only issue was with the A/C. Unfortunately the unit was in and out for our entire stay. The guest contact was very helpful however. They were able to drop off a portable A/C unit which helped with the temperature when the unit was not working.Would still certainly recommend this unit for a stay on Smith Mountain Lake.

Nice property, iffy communication

Pros: property and amenities were great. Good size pool, never really crowded (we stayed mid week not weekend) smallish hot tub, fire pit. Beach at lake was great, my favorite part. Bring your beach chairs, chairs, umbrella etc. umintakewe reached a boat elsewhere on lake and used a slip. The condo was nice. Beds good. Bathrooms good but right. Living furniture very comfy and plenty for 4 adults. Deck was nice, furniture not comfy. Owners could do more to welcome, like a guide to property, how to get to pool and lake, about store, gym, other pool etc. Things we didn't figure out till end of week. Communication with rental company was terrible, emails useless. Phone calls ok after 3 attempts of getting disconnected. Elevator fast. On the 4th floor btw . Farthest bldg from amenities but not too bad.. board games nice. Kitchen stocked ok, limited cabinet space for pantry items (small detail). Only 1 towel per host, minor detail but we took lots of showers. Biggest problem was a/c was out on check in day, and didn't work great all week, and put on last day. Might want to ask about that! Really a nice place, great property, we'd stay again just not impressed with Evolve or response to a/c compliant. Like most things at SML, it's pretty far from civilization.

Excellent stay

The view is amazing. The condo was spotless and cozy. Having the elevator and luggage cart was priceless. Thank you for offering this home to make our stay perfect.

Thank goodness for Stacie!

While we loved the property, our 2nd visit, dealing with The Evolve Team, was a little frustrating. Stacie, the property contact lady and cleaning lady was above and beyond, but dealing with The Evolvee Team was ridiculous. The property was clean as we expected ...and the view was awesome, but lack of communication w/The Evolve Team for corr2 information was lacking. The property was phenomenal as we've been there before. Awseome view!

Immaculate condition

This place is like brand new inside. Everything is fresh, bright, and clean. It has everything you need to be comfortable. However, don't do what we did, and forget to bring paper towels, toilet paper, maybe some dishwashing liquid, etc. There were only 3 towels for four of us so bring extra towels. The location is great with a nice view of Smith Mountain and the lake. It's 20 minutes to the grocery stores but we love that area of the lake and have been staying there or the State Park for years. There are several boat rentals nearby. There is a gas station with a small grocery just a couple miles away should you forget anything.

Lakefront Huddleston Condo

When I reached the property there was a key pad out side the building, I contacted the guest contacted for code information to get in the building and her response was I should have received an email, which I never did. After waiting for long time, another guest was leaving the building and they gave us the four number code to enter the building, which i was not provided with. I was only given the key fob number to open the unit. Then issues with connecting with Wi-Fi, it only allowed one device and when one device was connected, the Wi-Fi was not available for other devices. After troubleshooting and finding the router, I was able to get the issue fixed. The living area TV didn’t work and had to reconnect to Wi-Fi and finally worked the next day. I ended up leaving a day earlier. The main issue was getting a timely response.

A great long weekend away

Other than difficulty getting into the building and the unit, we had a wonderful time! This was our first time to SML and we cannot wait to return! Thank you for a great weekend!
