Hard to communicate with Host . I had made reservations and then a day later. Contacted the host about adding an extra day period then about a week later. I suggested to add an extra day if someone could contact me and there was no contact period in about 3 weeks later. I wanted confirmation. From the host about the stay even though I'd received an email confirmation.Nobody was texting me back on the message.Host app. All in all love, the farmhouse and the fenced in yard , there are a couple things that, in my opinion need attention. The countertop ice machine did not work ,the back shower did not work as well, however, could have been due to the cold temperatures, but the toilet and the sink worked fine .All in all a nice stay and would probably stay there again , just would like better communication , thanks ,

Host was very accessible and accommodating. In spite of the weather, the boys had a great time in the hot tub as well as the firepit. The dogs loved having the freedom to roam with the nice closed in privacy fence. The poop bags and container are a great asset, though we always have plenty of poop bags, it was nice. The shower in the guest rooms leaked and you can tell it has been an issue for quite a while because the floor and surrounding areas have been damaged and mold surrounding the base of the outside shower. Some maintenance in other areas, too. The only other big disappointment were the selection of dishes, pots and pans. It all seemed geared more for drinkers than what a cook needs to cook and bake in the kitchen for a dinner or any meal in general as well as containers for food storage for fridge. Otherwise, it was very nice. When we came in, there was a lovely little Christmas tree all decorated and lit. The fireplace is a nice touch and very warming and welcoming. It was nice and clean on arrival. Bedrooms and bathrooms were large enough for proper use. Large towels hanging on the hook by outside door leading to hot tub was a nice touch. I felt bad, I forgot to leave a tip for cleaners. So sorry even though we pay a hefty fee for cleanup, it is always nice to feel appreciated with a little cash. My apologies. We feel we left the house in the same clean condition as we arrived to with dishwasher loaded and going as well as washer with towels loaded and going.

This was the perfect location for the four of us because we went to Louisville, Lexington and several distilleries south of Shelbyville. We enjoyed the amenities of the house.

A great place to stay if you don’t mind a drive into Frankfort. Loved the outdoor space to hang out after a great day of activities. The house furniture has been changed out in the living room to a short couch and 4 small chairs with ottomans. I’m sure the photo of that room will be updated soon. That’s why I rated 4/5 stars in the photo representation category. I had to phone the property manager for the wi-if password. He answered on the 2nd ring and then followed up with a text and phone call to make sure all was well. Wonderful prompt service so 5/5 for Rob - thank you!!! I would definitely stay here again if Frankfort is in our travel plans for future.

The house is really lovely, and has everything you need. The master bedroom is at the back of the house with a sliding door to the fully fenced backyard. We sat outside several times while the dog thought it was his vacation! Plenty of parking, and even had an EV charger for our cars. If you are thinking of going to Buffalo Trace every morning, this is your place! So close. Thanks for a comfortable stay.

So Relaxing....

We were visiting Louisville from New Jersey, but didn't want to stay in Louisville. This was perfect! Close enough to travel for daily activities and meals, but far enough away to be quiet and relaxing.The backyard is amazing!! Just like the pictures. The girls and our dog loved the ability to just play and roam around.There were two teen girls with us, and they were in the two extra rooms, it was almost like they had their own wing!! The hosts were so responsive, super nice and check-in was seamless!!Thank you so much!!

Bourbon Trail Dream

We booked this house since it was centrally located on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. We were not disappointed! House was Beautiful, comfy, nice and clean. 100% would book this house again! Communication with property manager was a breeze and check in/out was easy peasy.

Perfect KBT Homebase

Loved the large backyard for our beagle! The huge tree gave loads of shade and bird watching. Would suggest having a few flashlights or additional lighting in the backyard for the last bedtime potty in the dark, though. Enjoyed the open floor plan and the front room’s king bed and window seat, especially for our pup.

Perfect Location For Whiskey Lovers

We were looking for a place in close proximity to as many distilleries as possible. With the exception of the few way south in Bardstown (and Jim Beam in Clermont), this was absolutely perfect! We knew Heaven Hill and Jim Beam were about 55 minutes away, so we did those in the same day. If you’re the same, just plan your distillery visits appropriately. The property was perfect for a long weekend getaway. Clean, nicely decorated and equipped with almost everything you need (the only downside I can say is that we weren’t able to find washcloths for showers - I don’t know if we missed them, or if you need to bring your own. Clean, comfortable beds. Plenty of space for 2 (or even 3 couples). The hot tub was awesome and the fire pit area was great. Nicely maintained yard. *Note to owners or property manager: the hot tub filter needs replaced soon (if you haven’t done it already by the time you see this review). I would 100% stay here again. As a matter of fact, we have other friends wanting to do the whole bourbon trail experience in the next year or 2, and if this property is still a Vrbo, we will absolutely look to book it again.

Better Experience Than Staying at a Hotel

The VRBO Shelbyville house we stayed at was top tier, and quite frankly felt way more inviting and homely than just staying at a hotel. With all the featured amenities, the space to spread out and everyone to have their own sense of privacy, and lastly location being a bit outside of town, group felt that we got to see and experience a lot more of what KY truly offers. It was a great experience overall, and I cannot recommend it enough!!! The ease of booking the property, working with the property manager to help manage arrival and departure expectations… it was all very smooth, simple and turnkey. We had a great time, and are already looking forward to our next trip.

Exactly what we were hoping for

Renting houses these days can be hit or miss to say the least. This place is an absolute hit. There’s always a little anxiety arriving at a rental but it was a pleasant surprise my wife and kids were all happy witch isn’t easy to do trust me.

Great place to rest your hat between distilleries

This was a good resting place for visiting the bourbon trail. We went to Buffalo trace, four roses, castle and key, and woodford reserve. Pet owners will be thrilled to know this properties backyard is fully fenced now and our dog LOVED getting to run free! We felt relaxed with our pets here and place was clean. Beds were clean and comfy

Great time with friends

The house had everything we needed to spend the weekend with friends. Plenty of seating and a well stocked kitchen. Neighborhood was very quiet. Only downside was a bit of a drive to downtown Louisville.

The Perfect Stay

I travel a lot. A lot. This is the BEST place I’ve ever stayed. So clean, so private, so comfortable, so beautifully decorated (the bourbon lover will appreciate the decor), so private. Great Kentucky getaway

We had a great time staying in Shelbyville for the weekend. The house offered everything we needed for a couple days and lots of extras that made our stay very comfortable. The property was clean and easy to access. We would definitely visit again, especially when the weather is nicer and we can enjoy the outdoor space more!

Cozy home with perfect location

My brother and I and our spouses stayed here as a base for exploring bourbon distilleries. The house was perfect for us and was beautifully decorated. I regret not using the hot tub and fire pit but the snow and cold weather was too much to hang out outdoors!

Mostly pleasant experience. There was an issue with the heat but owner was very prompt to correct the issue. The Farmhouse is nicely decorated and very comfortable and cozy. Nice yard for our dogs to roam and explore.

Overall great, but there are issues.

There are a few issues with the listing and the property. Very happy overall with our stay. However, second bathroom door does not latch. No heat register in the second bathroom which makes it very cold. Master bedroom door does not latch. Grounds were not kept up very well. Extensions cords laying across the back sidewalk. Yard is NOT fenced in like the description indicates. We loved the location and the overall layout of the house, just needs some attention.
