The perfect mountain retreat for families, a small group of friends or couples looking to escape the city. Come here to search out solitude whether it’s time connecting to nature, romantic weekend, skiing/snowboarding, hiking, or curling up with a good book in our open plan living space centred around a wood burning fire.

We first visited Hemlock Mountain for a family holiday back in 2011 and were blown away by the cruisy feel of the mountain, the great skiing, and the abundance of snow that buried the ‘Stop’ signs around the village.

Over the years we regularly returned to the mountain, dreaming often about one day living up here. Then, at the height of winter in 2021, masked on Bonnie’s orders, we learned that the cabin was available and came to view it. We knew instantly it was the perfect place we’d been dreaming about since that initial visit to the mountain 10 years prior.

The style is an expression of our love of timeless design and a commitment to challenging ourselves to be mindful of our impact on people and planet.

Each purchase we’ve made seeks to prioritize used items from local vintage and second hand shops. For the items we’ve bought new, such as linens, artwork, and some furniture we’ve voted for small Canadian businesses that seek to value the resources they use and the people throughout their supply chain. Throughout the renovation we’ve sought to re-purpose or renew materials and items found in the house to fit within our own style.
