Staying on Siletz Bay in Taft

This is a lovely, peaceful little spot. It’s a great view and a wonderful place to watch the tides change throughout the day.

My 90 year old mom and I enjoyed a couple nights here. The view is fantastic and the condo is comfortable. We did notice that the deck is usable but is in need of repair. It was also nice to have a covered, designated, convenient parking spot while many people visiting the beach were hunting for a place to park.

Another Great weekend away from everyday life!

Stayed an extra day (Sunday night) so we could skip the heavy traffic. As we prefer to eat home cooked meals, having a full size kitchen is wonderful. View over the bay and ocean view over the fishing pier is great. We will return for a winter storm weekend.

If a guest is staying for more than 2 days there should be enough soap, laundry soap, shampoo, etc to accommodate the length of stay, 2. the property is not well kept, e.g., sand on the stairs, debris in the parking lot, cigarette butts on the lawn.

What wonderful weather

Really enjoyed new hide a bed, new appliances but coffeemaker didnt work. The outside sink to bathroom didnt drain well. Also electrical outlets in bedroom need changed thing would not stay plugged in. So many people have breathing machines and oxygen that the outlets need to work because of medical reason. Other than that we did have a great time. We always do. See you again, I hope soon.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at Dock of the Bay many, many times. This was the first time on the second floor, and it was just as fabulous as I expected. The ground floor is awesome when you have the kids - but this time we left them at home! The room was exactly as the pictures showed, the kitchen was well equipped and the view is spectacular. We ate in a lot to enjoy our view, but did visit the Sea Hag in Depot Bay for breakfast, and of course we had chowder at Mo's right next door - and we did have cocktails at the Tiki Bar across the street! We shopped in Newport and went to the Chinook Winds Casino (don't bother...). There were so many kids and dog's on the beach it made me miss mine, so we'll be back soon with the whole family.

Not as pictured…

1970 time warp…. Thrift shop decor and not good thrift. We’re they afraid someone was going to steal a hooked rug picture or a chain amber ceiling lamp? No lamps plugged in. Lamp switches broken. Sliding door SLATS missing ! ! And all miss matched slats color and length hanging from broken overhead hanging bracket…… Love location/view/ and parking spot…. But would never use this unit in the future.

Ownership does not care

For what ended up being rate (I’m not allowed to state what that is) of a much nicer place and after all of their fees, I deeply regret this stay and wished we stayed elsewhere. We purchased this because the photo and description said there would be a telescope, but when we got there there was none. We were questioned as to whether we called ahead to ask if it was still there, when I said “no” they said they were not liable for nonessential items. I feel mislead and misguided by their posting. It would have been nice for the stars and the sea lions across the bay. On top of that, the place was dirty. There were peanut shells from previous guests. There were missing blinds that barely worked so you have no privacy at night. There was a message from a previous guest on the mirror when you showered. There was a leak in the bathroom and under the kitchen sink. The was a s*** stain next to the toilet. The bed was covered in plastic that made it extremely hot. There were paper thin walls and you could hear a pin drop above you. People walking normally above us kept us until midnight. There was patchwork carpet and 2 patched holes in the walls. They were unresponsive to concerns and seemed to already know they problems and had answers for what our complaint would be. It was very shady, and I would absolutely recommend you choose any company other than Oregon beach vacations because there were other condos for rent in that location. (The location was great)

Great condo and the location was wonderful. Only downside was the pigeons. Luckily not on our balcony but on several others. They make a huge mess.

The ever changing view of the bay from the window was enchanting. The jcondo was clean and everything was in good condition. The location was very convenient to walk to restaurants and shops. The kitchen was full of cheap pots, pans, silverware . Would have been nice to have decent things. Had lots of ants in the condo. Couldn’t leave any candy or stuff out. Had to throw some food away. I ran to ace hardware and bought ant traps . Pretty much solved the problem. Wasn’t too happy . The floor near the slider is rotten and had hole in floor. The carpet was loose that’s where ants were coming in . I’m not talking a few ants but hundreds. My brother rented a different room there. His room was nicer and no ants . I did not call the condo to complain I just dealt with it myself. The condo I had needs repair .

Another great stay in Lincoln City

Second time we've stayed at Dock of the Bay over the years, another great stay, love Siletz Bay. Only issue was the lack of screen door (just due to some flies/gnats), but beyond that, everything lived up to our expectations.

Great view but Unit Needs Maintenance

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have rented at Dock of the Bay several times but this is the first time at this unit. As others have noted, the dishwasher does not work. We did try it once but the soap didn't even come out of the dispenser and it did not clean the dishes. This is disturbing because we have no idea about the cleanliness of the dishes / pots / pans / flatware in the cabinets. So I had to handwash every item BEFORE it was used as well as AFTER it was used. The tub faucet drips / runs because the water does not shut off. The kitchen faucet drips unless it is in a particular position. There is a bucket underneath the sink, so there must be some leakage there. No hairdryer to be found. No screen on the sliding glass door. Outdoor chairs had not been cleaned in a while and were full of sand and some tomatoey goo. No telescope as shown in the pictures for the unit. Carpet is stained. Living room furniture and dining table all in good condition. Almost all the electrical plug-ins would not keep our electronic chargers plugged in -- they fell out of the sockets. Finally we found an extension cord that was tight enough to keep the chargers charging. The view is great -- right on the bay front. Several eateries plus the IGA store within walking distance. I hope this property soon gets the maintenance it needs.

We have stayed in this unit before but won't rent it again. The carpets are filthy. The upholstered dining room chairs are filthy. The outlets will not hold plugs unless they have 3 prongs. The dishwasher door is broken.
