Staying at our Villa Helena de Hermosa vacation rental home near the beach in Playa Hermosa, Puntarenas province is like having your own private tropical resort retreat, perfect for large family and friend reunions. It sleeps families of up to thirteen guests on regular beds among five bedrooms. Everyone will be able to be together to share experiences around a magnificent courtyard pool and terrace area, while having their own space to retire and rest after a day full of adventure.

Villa Helena is ideally located close to beaches, both for surfing and swimming, and to the towns of Hermosa, Jacó and Esterillos, where you will find a plethora of dining and shopping options. The villa is completely enclosed by high walls and lies inside the gated community of Opera Salvaje, which has a single controlled-access point with 24/7 manned security.

This five-bedroom vacation villa showcases a Spanish mission-style architecture with arched wood windows, exposed wood beams, decorative wrought-iron, ceramic tile countertops, terracotta floor tiles, natural stone on walls and floors, and tiled roofs, giving it a charming and elegant look, perfectly adapted to its environment.

The villa boasts solid wood furniture that continues its Costa Rican-Spanish colonial theme and is tastefully decorated with Latin American crafts and art works that transport you to another time. Nonetheless, it is equipped with modern amenities such as Wi-Fi and air conditioning throughout the villa, and two washer/dryer sets, making your stay comfortable and convenient.

The villa’s main feature is a large courtyard with a private pool, flanked by wood and concrete columns supporting covered decks on both sides. Here you can lounge, doze off, dine, and swim in the sun or shade. A gas barbecue grill and two large and beautifully crafted wood tables and chairs allow for al fresco dining for up to fourteen guests. Two hammocks allow you to embrace the Pura Vida way of life.

The indoor living areas and bedrooms are laid out around the courtyard, allowing them easy access to it. They are divided into three self-contained buildings with independent entry, all featuring high ceilings with exposed wood beams: the Front house, the River house, and the Studio tower.

The Front house is the closest to the carport. It offers two bedrooms around a living area. The living area has a couch in front of a smart LED TV and a small kitchen with refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. A workspace nook with desk and printer allows you to work on your laptop.

One bedroom has a Queen bed, large closet, and smart LED TV and is adjacent to the full bathroom with shower. The other bedroom has a Twin bunkbed and a Full bed. Another full bathroom with shower is located close-by, on the tower’s ground floor, next to the courtyard, so it could serve guests staying at the Front house.

The River house stands on the other side of the courtyard, behind a corridor with rocking chairs and a gas barbecue grill. Its great room includes the villa’s main kitchen and living area. The fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar is beautifully adorned with hand painted yellow ceramic tiles on its counter and backsplash.

The large living room is centered around a 40-inch smart LED TV and offers comfortable seating and lounging on its sofa and rocking chairs. The two bedrooms at the River house have King and Queen beds respectively and share a large bathroom with combination bathtub and shower. Each bedroom has plenty of closet space and its own smart LED TV.

The Studio is the only bedroom on the second floor and is reachable through a covered metal spiral staircase with wrought iron railings. The Studio offers one large bedroom with a King and a Twin bed, a smart LED TV, an ensuite full bathroom with shower and a kitchenette with a small fridge, coffee maker and microwave.

Surfers will surely appreciate the proximity to some of the best breaks in Costa Rica, and the space to store their boards within the property, without needing to bring them inside the living areas.

The villa has easy paved access to the beach, restaurants, and shops, where you can enjoy Costa Rican cuisine and culture within a 5-minute drive. The beaches and towns of Jacó and Esterillos Oeste, where you will find even more dining, shopping, and outdoor activities options, are located within a 15-minute drive.

Please note that loud parties are not allowed. Outdoor music and noises are allowed during the day at a reasonable volume that does not disturb neighbors and must be turned down to a minimum after 10 pm and through 8 am.

The pricing quoted here is for the entire property and the base price is good for up to 10 guests ages 3 and older. Additional guests ages 3 and older are US$25 + fees & tax per person per night and will be automatically added to the price. Up to five children under 3 years old are not charged this fee.

The maximum occupancy is for up to thirteen adults sleeping in beds and 2 children sleeping in a futon in the living room, or five single adults. Unregistered guests are allowed to visit, as long as the maximum occupancy is not exceeded at any time, and each must present valid ID at the security checkpoint to gain access, without exceptions.

* Pets allowed: only dogs of quiet nature are allowed. A $26.25 + VAT pet fee per stay per dog will be requested, depending on length of stay. This pet fee does not cover damages caused by pet. Dog must not swim in pool or climb beds or furniture. Owner must collect and dispose properly of all dog waste.
