The Space:
The Sanctuary is a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom villa in Oneroa with Huruhi Bay views, wraparound verandahs, a hot tub, large lawn, beach-track access and parking for up to 4 vehicles.
The home has a total floor plan of approximately 230 square metres and is suited to extended families or groups wanting a larger property with both indoor and outdoor living space. The house includes original fittings sourced from older New Zealand properties, timber floors, high ceilings, decorative ceiling roses, art deco-style light fittings and wide verandahs facing the water.
The main living spaces are on the entry level. This level includes the kitchen, dining area, two living areas, and one bathroom. The dining room has a large table for group meals, timber floors, timber ceilings and outlooks through multiple doors and windows.
The living area includes sofas,, Smart TV, Bose sound system, wood burner and views through the windows. There is also a heat pump on the lower level.
The kitchen is a full kitchen with a 900mm oven and induction cooktop. It has generous working space and connects with the outdoor dining area. The outdoor dining area has an electric louvre system and views across Huruhi Bay.
There are two wood burners, one outside and one in the living room. For stays between 1 June and 30 September, a starter supply of firewood is included.
All four bedrooms are located upstairs. Each bedroom opens onto the verandah and has outlooks across the property and surrounding views.

The property has two bathrooms. On the entry level, where the living area is located, there is a bathroom with a shower and toilet. Upstairs, where all four bedrooms are located, there is a second bathroom with a clawfoot bath and shower over the bath.
Outdoor areas include wraparound verandahs, established gardens, a large lawn, BBQ, hot tub, outdoor dining area and private access to the beach track. The estate sits on private land, so guests staying at the property are the only people with access to the beach track.
There is parking for up to 4 vehicles on the property. The garage is not available for guest use.

Guests have access to the house, entry-level living areas, upstairs bedrooms, verandahs, gardens, large lawn, BBQ, hot tub, outdoor dining area and private beach track.
The estate sits on private land, so guests staying at the property are the only people with access to the beach track.
Parking is available for up to 4 vehicles.

The Neighborhood:
The property is located in Oneroa with views across Huruhi Bay.
Mudbrick and Cable Bay vineyards are located on the same road and are only minutes away by car.
The property has private access to a beach track from the estate. Walking options in the area range from shorter walks of around 15 minutes through to longer walking routes.
Getting Around:
Waiheke Island is approximately 20 km long. Most visitor areas and many holiday homes are located within the first 10 km from the ferry side of the island.
A vehicle is strongly recommended for this property because of the steep dirt-road access. A 4WD is required year-round.
Taxis are available on Waiheke, and some taxi providers can supply 4WD transport. Regular bus services operate around the island, but guests should not rely on buses for the final property access without checking routes and stops in advance.
Other Things to Note:
This is a self-catered holiday home, not a fully catered stay. We provide a starter supply of essentials such as toilet paper, coffee, tea, and milk to help you settle in on arrival. Once these starter items have been used, guests are responsible for purchasing any additional supplies needed during their stay.
For properties with a fireplace, stays between 1 June and 30 September include a starter supply of firewood. Additional firewood can be purchased from local petrol stations, Woolworths, Four Square, and Mitre 10.
Beach towels are provided at properties with an available pool or spa. Guests staying at properties without a pool or spa will need to bring their own beach towels.
Please Note: This property has dirt road access for part of the way off the main road and is steep in parts. You will require 4WD access People mover vans that are not 4WD are not recommended as they are generally too light in the rear end for the ascent.
