Modern fully furnished bungalow with 4 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. Central air conditioning and a sun room. The unique setting is very secluded and set on a large multi acre private pond amongst 47 acres of rolling pastoral farm land south of Millbrook near west end of Rice Lake. Quick access to east end of 407 highway. Extensive pivate groomed trails for walking /hiking /biking  for Shinrin-Roku / forest bathing.

Activities: Bocce, croquet,
volleyball & badminton, kayaking & canoeing. Pond is home to a variety of wildlife including turtles, fish, beavers, otters.
Your hosts live  a short walk away on an adjoining large acre hobby farm connected by an interior trail. Their heated inground
pool is available for guest swimming.

Lovely located rustic cottage. Clean, roomy. Focal point is the fireplace inside the cottage and the pond for the outside. Lovely trails around the pond and in the wooded area.

My friends and I had a wonderful time at Cottage on the Pond. The house was comfortable, clean, nicely furnished, the kitchen was well equipped, and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. The beautiful, serene setting by the pond added to the overall sense of peacefulness during our week-long stay.

We had a wonderful time! The place was even better than the pictures with lots of space and even better sights. Robert was a great host who always checked in with us. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to get away from from the city and relax.

House on a pond

We enjoyed our stay , the host is great communicator , very accommodating with our requests. We are definitely coming back and hoping to stay longer this time . This will be our place to stay of choice every time we plan a trip to Canada.

Back home and missing this beautiful property. Myself and my 3 “kidults” very much enjoyed our stay. Fresh flowers greeted us on arrival. There was room enough for each of us to do our own thing and also a large dining table to come together for our board games! The cottage is truly comfortable, my favourite place being the enclosed outdoor back patio where I spent my mornings reading, with nature as my back drop. Very serene and calming and the walk around the pond fed my need to explore. The owners are very quick to respond to every question and provided options for things to do in the area. Thank you, Robert and Frances, for your hospitality. I am very grateful to have found you!

Incredible, private location

The pictures don't do this place justice. Tucked away at the end of a long driveway in a park-like location surrounded by fields and woods, this home was the perfect location for us to relax with friends and let our children romp & play. Couldn't recommend more highly!

This property gets undersold on the website. It is bigger than it appears in pictures. The colours around the cottage were spectacular. It was very private and just amazing. Thinking of Christmas now!!

Upon arrival, I was greeted by a sense of tranquility that seemed to hang in the air. Bob, our host, was waiting for us and had thoughtfully provided clear directions, making check-in a breeze. There was a personalized welcome note on the dinning table with freshly picked flowers. This small gesture immediately made us feel valued and set the tone for the rest of my stay.The cottage itself was everything I had hoped for and more. A charming front yard and a relaxing backyard with a beautiful private pond. The interior decor struck a perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort. Exposed wooden beams, a fireplace, and beautiful furnishings created a cozy ambiance, while high-speed Wi-Fi, a smart TV, and a fully equipped kitchen ensured convenience.Every detail seemed carefully considered. The beds were well dressed with quality linens and pillows, promising restful nights. We booked the cottage for 6 adults for 3 nights in August 2025. Instructions were straight forward and clear. Checking in very smooth with the owners meeting us at the property and giving us a tour of the cottage and its amenities. The inside photos online do not do justice to the place. It is full of light and beautiful views from almost every window. Despite the heatwave at the time the AC kept all rooms at a very comfortable temperature. There is an outside dining table in a space surrounded by screened windows. It became our favorite place to come together at mealtimes. The basement had a ping pong table, a pool table and a foosball game. There are also many board games and a rich library. We had some concerns with the internet, but we were able to watch streamed movies without a problem. At night memories were made around the fire pit while enjoying s’mores. The large property allowed everyone to have their preferred activity: walking the trails, paddling in the pond, or reading in the shade of a tree.The owners, Bob and Frances were a delight to deal with. They lived about 10-minute walk away. They invited us to use their heated swimming pool, which was very appreciated given the heat. On checkout day they came to see us off and we felt we’re saying goodbye to new friends. We are already talking about coming back for a longer stay.

We offer a fully furnished modern bungalow with AC & wood burning Fireplace & Firepit with 4 bedrooms & sleeping for 8±. Pet friendly. Cottage is set on 48 acres of countryside with a private 7 acre pond with kayaks. We are in Peterborough County near Rice Lake. About 1.5 hours from Toronto.
