Labor Day Weekend Stay
Our stay didn’t start off well. My husband and I were visiting my son and our son’s fiancé. They are both marines. My son is at Camp Geiger. He had Liberty for the weekend. He told us that his Liberty started on Friday, but then found out it started on Saturday. My husband and I decided to come down Saturday instead. My son’s fiancé. Who is also in the Marines, stationed in Missouri went ahead and flew down on Friday. I sent her to the office to pick up the key fob to the pool and beach access. They refused to give it to her because she was under 25. Normally, hotels and condos have rented to my son and fiancé because when you are in the military you are considered an adult. I explained this to the lady and she didn’t care. She then said my son could come in and get the get key, but only if he had his military ID AND had his drill sergeant call and verify that he was stationed at Camp Geiger. How could he even do that when his liberty didn’t start u til Saturday?! And why would they allow my son to do that but did not give that option to my son’s fiancé?! They told me she’d have to find another hotel for the night. That was not what we wanted to happen. So, we drove down Saturday morning and we still hadn’t received our text with the code to get into the condo. We called the office again and they would not give us the code until my husband and I showed up to the office. I hadn’t seen my son in months this is not how I wanted it to start.
