Lewis, I hope you know how much we love knowing your family once again chose to celebrate Labor Day at On The Rocks! Your crew knows every nook and cranny of the 6200 acres at BRMC after your many visits. That certainly sounds like the definition of the importance of ‘Creating Traditions and Memories’ we keep reading about. What a gift you have given your family~ I hope your team enjoyed the pool, which still feels new to us, and the redesigned Tree House bunkbeds. We just added a railing to the short side of the porch steps, similiar to the railing on the long side end. I don’t know about y’all, but over here we’re all getting older as the Labor Days fly by. Since I’m ‘ole school, your phrase….to close out our summer….made me stop and think. Just bec/ I remember summer ending/school starting the day after Labor Day, doesn’t make it so in today’s world. God was surely showing out when he layered those breathtaking ‘blue’ mountains just off the back deck for us to enjoy and marvel at. Visiting Ricky’s aunt while we dated in the 80’s was the first time I ever saw the Blue Ridge Mountains, I’m still just as fascinated and awe struck by them 50 years later. We loved having your gang at On The Rocks enjoying those beautiful western NC mountains for a long weekend. Thx for the kitchen compliment, I’m more a heater upper, so it’s nice to hear you found everything you needed for yummy real meal preparing and serving. I promise to replace the crock pot before your next visit. The one there is just like mine growing up in the 70’s. Being the huge sentimentalist that I am, as long as it went High / Low / Off we kept it. I have learned that crock pots have more chef-friendly features these days and will be picking one up. Thanks for taking the time to review, you & yours all have a full plate and I’m sure jumped right into finishing up the school year when you returned home. I agree with you, one of the best things about the 6200 acres of the Blue Ridge Mountain Club are the wide open grassy fields scattered about and the e z for all Nick -a-Jack trail just below the house. It’s wonderful to hear kids’ excited voices from the deck as their family makes the Nick-a-Jack trek. These days, seeing kids playing tag and hide/seek, flying a kite, skipping a rock doesn’t happen near as much as it used to. We’re so glad your time at On The Rocks gave all the kiddos that opportunity. Anytime ‘awesome, perfect, easy to work with, house has everything we needed’ shows up in a review, we are humbled & thankful. All the best to all the travelers….young and grown. Always, A

We love hearing you and your friends enjoyed the togetherness and the privacy offered @ On The Rocks! The home was built for parties just like yours, with each couple having a private bedroom/bathroom for a relaxing end to a beautiful, active mountain day. I’m so glad you enjoyed at day in Blowing Rock. America’s Main Street, as it’s often referred to, It has something for everyone, flanked by gorgeous hanging baskets and lush, colorful flowers worked in among the locally owned stores. If guests ask should they visit BR, I say I know I’m biased, but you really haven’t experienced the western NC mountains until you walk end to end along U shaped Main Street savouring the safety, beauty, history & creativity it offers.
