This quaint cottage on Lake George is a fantastic place to fish, rest and relax, but still is only minutes to the great attractions of the Cherry capital of Traverse City. The 3 bedrooms and 1 full bath offers a view with beautiful quiet sunsets. 2 levels with wonderful lake views, and clean water swimming. Sleeps up to 6 with one main floor queen size bedroom, and 2 upper floor bedrooms which have 3 queens and a twin.
Cable T.V., WIFI, and games. Full kitchen, ( no dishwasher), open dining area that overlooks swimming area and view. Sliding door that opens to big deck to sit and enjoy all that is offered.
Plenty of parking available with gas grill, fire pit and sandy beach. Choices of rowboat fishing, paddleboat enjoyment on a no motorized lake. Public access adjacent to this paradise. The perfect area for on and off road biking and hiking while catching a glimpse of wildlife roaming.
Located on the south side of town and only 10 minutes from the happenings of Traverse City with shopping, wineries, casinos, restaurants, and finally topped off with the Cherry festival and Film festival.
Linens included, dogs considered, no smoking.
3 nights minimal. Charges per night may change during prime time season.

Such a perfect place on a quiet lake. The home had everything we needed. We enjoyed everyday we were here. We traveled with our 2 dogs and there was plenty of space for them to roam around. Short drives to all the trails and places we wanted to see. September is a lovely time to visit the Traverse area.

We had an amazing trip to George Lake!! The cabin felt so authentic - it really felt like someone's home, which made for a cozy experience compared to feeling like a rental. The cabin was super clean and the lake was so peaceful. We were there with my parents and our two little kids and it was the perfect family retreat! The quiet road was great for riding bikes with the kids and we loved walking to the park each day for the kids to play. Highly recommend booking for your next vacation!

Susan was a very responsive and accomodating host. The cabin is charming, and the afternoon sunsets from the West-facing deck can't be beat. Some upgraded mattresses/pillows and a good decluttering of the kitchen cabinets would turn my review into all 5 stars. We ate almost all of our meals there, and the kitchen is pretty well outfitted. A little less stuff, and a sharp knife and wooden cutting board would be appreciated by anyone preparing meals.We very much appreciated all of the fans with the warm temperatures and poor air quality we encountered during our stay, but a few of those wall-mounted heat/cool units would allow you to get rid of all of the fans sitting everywhere and charge more for the cabin.

My kids loved the lake and the paddle boat, shallow beach swimming, great location, short drive to Traverse City, but very much away from the bustle of the city. Great Lake cabin getaway!

This is a cute place and would be perfect for spring or fall visit. Communication with Susan was very easy and smooth.The property didn’t indicate that there was AC unit. We happened to rent during the heatwave and inside the house was hotter than outside. We even ordered additional fans and opened windows to help cool down. We ended up left a day early.Also words of advice, do not purchase additional insurance because filing process is a nightmare.

weekend getaway

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Susan's place. its' quiet with a beautiful view of the lake -- paddleboat & row boat on site. We had campfires every night and visited Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes and the Turtle Creek Casino.Everything you need is provided. I did bring coffee and tea.The only downside is that there is no A/C and the upstairs bedrooms can be a little stuffy, though the fans did help.

Check in was super easy as we got there at 9pm. Rustic cabin in perfect location. Very quiet with only occasional minimal noise from neighbors. At night you can hear all the frogs which is peaceful.Didn’t bother me, but some might like a more updated cabin. Bathroom area a bit on the small side. Only down side was the carpet is very old and a bit dirty.Overall, a great stay.

Pictures don't do this place justice. Nice swim area for the kids while we watched off the deck. Great fire pit area for s'more. This place was worth the money. Any questions we had were responded quickly with the host.

Arrived at property to find ants in kitchen and spiders/webs scattered throughout house. Was going to push through and clear out the bugs as we went along but small flies swarming in bedrooms that night forced us to leave and find a hotel. Attempted to work with the host and requested a full refund but only given a partial refund in spite of the circumstances and not staying a single night. Would suggest looking for a different property rental.

location was good!

my only complaint was the carpet was very dirty and smelled. we were outside so not to big a deal. But the bedding was wonderful! very comfortable and clean. loved having a beach to ourselves. its an old comfortable cabin but had everything that you need! trees kept it cool in the heat . great space for us all. Frig. was new and good size. felt away from town but just minutes from Travesere city.

Peaceful location

Very quiet lake location. Comfortable and everything we needed for the two of us. We stayed 12 nights and we were not ready to go home. Excellent internet which was important to us bc we were both working.

Cozy cottage with some minor fixes

Overall it was great. Just a couple of things could have made it fantastic. There was a major amount of cobwebs and dead bugs under our bed. There were a lot of towels, but some pretty raggedy washcloths. We kept tripping over a rug in the living room that needs some repair. I finally sewed one end with some fishing line, but it still needs repair. We had to do a major sweep of the deck due to a thick covering of pine needles. It looked like they had been there for a month. Other than those things we had a great time. It was cozy, great location to restaurants and downtown Traverse City. We would come again!
