Quintessential Mews Flat

The property is located above our family business. Although listed as a 3-bedroom apartment it is suited more for 4 guests. PLEASE NOTE: If your booking is for 4 persons or less then only TWO bedrooms will be available at the rate stated. The third bedroom can be made available for an additional fee. Please be aware that there is approx. 34 steps to climb before arriving at the front door of the flat! However, you will not be disappointed once you are inside as you will be greeted by a bright open plan kitchen/diner area which leads directly into two double bedrooms (one featuring a King-Sized Bed and one double bed) and one room with two single beds. The floors are hard wood throughout and the kitchen features Split Level Oven, Microwave. There is a laundry room with Washer/Dryer & Iron & Ironing Board.

Fantastic location and lovely flat

I stayed here with my husband and two adult daughters and we were all very happy with the living space. The location cannot be beat, check in/out was super easy, and communication with Adrienne was always stellar. The flat does get quite hot on warmer days (which is communicated in the description and reviews, but the fans provided do help a bit. We will definitely be staying here again our next visit to London! Thank you!

Wonderful flat in a very convenient location

The best part about this flat was its proximity to public transport. Paddington station is a five minute walk and offers access to most of the main tube lines and there is a very convenient bus stop just a few steps away from the door. Pubs, restaurants, and stores are all close by. The apartment was very clean and everything was as advertised. The host was very responsive to the few questions that we had. The location on a mews gives the feeling of "old timey" London and just enough separation from the hustle and bustle of the city. Our only suggestion would be to improve the functionality of the bathrooms by adding counterspace, shelving, or hooks. Although the bathrooms are small, there are some solutions for guests to keep toiletries, clothing, etc. Overall, wonderful stay in a wonderful flat. Thank you!

No communication about no heat/hot water

This is my first ever less than 5-star review, and I use VRBO frequently. The actual flat is lovely and the location couldn't be better. BUT - be sure you have telephone access during your stay, or hope that nothing goes wrong. We had no heat and no hot water for the first 24 hours and the owner/manager did not reply to a single message sent by email or VRBO message. We arrived at 9pm after a full day of travel. The flat was 14C (57F). We spent some time trying to turn the heat up, but nothing worked. We decided to just take hot showers and jump in bed, only to find that there was no hot water. I sent a message through VRBO to ask for help, but by morning there was still no heat and no reply. I ended up tracking down a telephone (am I the only one who relies on WiFi when traveling internationally?) and calling the caretaker. He arrived late that evening (so no heat/hot water all day) and was easily able to fix a problem with the boiler. So, problem solved, but we never heard back from the owner/manager, though I sent multiple messages specifically asking for a reply. A couple other things, that I wouldn't bother to mention if it wasn't for the lack of communication: - The flat is not labeled in any way, even with an address or unit number. The street door has no number (identified because it was the next in order), and the two interior doors to the unit were only identifiable because the keys didn't fit in the other doors. Late in the evening, it felt pretty creepy to be trying keys in random doors. - When we arrived, the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes and the toilet had cleaner in it but hadn't been scrubbed. Seemed like the cleaner didn't quite finish up. No problem, we just ran the dishwasher. Bottom line: the place was fine and if the boiler hadn't gone out, or if the owner/manager had replied to even one of my messages, this would have been a 5-star review. But when I use an interface like VRBO, I expect good communication through this interface. I wouldn't deal with this owner again.

A great place to stay because of its closeness to Paddington Station. Although we didn't spend much time in the flat, it was nice to have the fridge for food storage and the beds were comfortable.

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt. Wir haben im Vorwege und während der Reise immer schnell Antworten bekommen und es würde uns auch eine frühere Anreise und spätere Abreise ermöglicht, was uns sehr geholfen hat. Die Anreise mit dem Heathrow Express war super schnell und unkompliziert. Die Bahnstationen und Busstationen sind schnell erreichbar. Die Betten waren sehr bequem und die Möglichkeit die Wohnung zu erweitern ist super hilfreich. Es war sehr sauber. Lediglich ein Föhn wäre toll gewesen und ein bisschen Waschmittel, sodass man für eine Wäsche nicht extra eine ganze Flasche kaufen muss. Wenn man sehr Licht- und Geräuschempfindlich ist beim Schlafen sollte man eine Schlafmaske und Ohropax mitbringen.

I’d stay here again. The location was excellent. Minutes from Paddington Station. Plenty of restaurants in the area. There are 2 flights of stairs and a couple of small spots that could do with a refresh, but the apartment was very clean. We accidentally tripped a fuse and the property manager was quick to respond and fix the problem.

Wonderful quiet location

This property has all the conveniences we were looking for. Close to Paddington station, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and a washer/dryer. It was the perfect size for our family of 3 (10 y/o). For Americans traveling and less familiar with Europe, I will add my husband’s comments: please understand there are 2 narrow flights you have to carry luggage up, washers and dryers are not the same as in Europe, A/C is also almost non-existent (there were fans in property).

Great place

Perfect for my wife, two daughters (22 & 17), and me. Paddington station is very close, so you can get wherever you need to go. There are lovely restaurants nearby (we particularly enjoyed Wahaca and Cawnpore), and plenty of shops for necessities in the neighborhood.The flat is comfortable, and great for short or long stays. You’ll want to get the windows open and the fans running if you’re caught in a heat wave like we were, but that’s manageable. We would definitely return.

Great Flat in Great Location

We were fortunate to have found this flat a year ago. The location is perfect, just around the corner from Paddington Station making it a quick trip to anywhere in London. Good neighborhood with plenty of shops and restaurants. The flat was clean with up to date kitchen. Three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms made it perfect for our group. Highly recommend to anyone going to London.

Amazing stay in amazing surroundings

Very nice and comfortable apartment in perfect location of a London trip; everything needed is provided, beds are very comfortable and the whole apartment is very light due to the windows on the roof; many nice restaurants and small shops nearby; walking-distance to Oxford Street via Hyde Park is 15 minutes; Paddingtin Station just around the corner - good tip: flights to Heathrow as there is a direct connection of 20 minutes to Paddington Station;

Great Visit to London with Friends

My wife and I stayed here at this great flat with 3 of our friends. This space was great for the 5 of us. Having 3 bedrooms available, kitchen, 2 bathrooms and common space was perfect!The communication was great with the owner and the price was great especially for the location.The flat was a few minute walk from Paddington Station which allowed easy access to the tube and the entire city. We would highly recommended this owner and location. It was a vacation to remember!

Great flat and location

My family enjoyed this flat. The owner has great communication. The flat is perfectly clean and maintained. It's a very comfortable flat and location for touring London. Paddington train station is close and convenient. But the street with the flat is quiet and sheltered. The flat is also in a nice neighborhood for walking and getting to sites. The flat is up 2 flights of narrow stairs which was easy for our active family.

Paddington will always be our home away from home

The apartment’s location is spectacular. The beds are comfy. Having two bathrooms was life changing. The only thing to have in mind is that is a third floor, and the stairs are steep. But the communication with the property manager was prompt, clear and friendly. Will recommend to others. We are planning to come back next year.
