Disaster. Locked out. No communication. Scrambled to find a hotel.

We arrived at the property in Porto at 4:00pm. At 4:32pm, we finally received a message from the property management company with a building code and an apartment door lockbox code. The building code was correct. The lockbox code was incorrect. Despite desperate pleas via phone, text, WhatsApp, and VRBO messaging, that was the only message that we ever received. We spent 2 hours sitting in the stairwell waiting for communication from the property and from VRBO itself. Finally, VRBO directed us to find a hotel. VRBO refunded the reservation. I have submitted receipts and I am still awaiting reimbursement for the hotel per the book-with-confidence guarantee. Avoid this property.

Terrible

No electricity, no water, suite not prepared, and is a 2 bedroom not a 3. We had to book a hotel as this place was not accesible. Host demanded a tourist tax of 48 euros that later turned out to be payment for the cleaners. Definitely not recommended. Property manager would not answer telphone.

Bien placé

Bel appartement qui est situé en centre ville proche de la gare. On peut tout faire à pied.C est un peu bruyant pour les deux chambres qui donnent sur la rue , une chambre sans fenêtre Une rambarde qui ne tient pas bien, un peu dangereux Manque de la vaisselle pour 6. Je regrette que l agence ne communique pas avec vous réellement avant l arrivée c est stressant, après leur avoir envoyé plusieurs messages et aussi en passant par le site pour qu il prenne contacte

Spacious, clean, wonderful flat!

This was one of the better VRBO's we've ever stayed in. The flat itself was very beautiful, and had an enormous living area with balconies looking out upon Porto's bustling streets. It was a real pleasure staying here and I'd recommend it. The location was right in the middle of the action, which could be taken as a negative but we loved it. The first night we stayed there was our only weekend night and admittedly it got a little loud. But Monday and Tuesday nights were much mellower. However you are in walking distance of tons of cool stuff. The only other weird thing I better mention is when we arrived we were told right away by the property manager that we were to leave something like 30 Euros in the lockbox for a "municipal tourist tax". It wasn't a huge deal but it would have been much better if that had been baked into the initial charge of the VRBO, and not sprung on us once we got there. But not a deal breaker either. When we booked this flat it only had one VRBO review. We felt like we were rolling the dice a bit booking this but it definitely worked out. I don't normally take the time to review these but I wanted to add a good review so future travelers will be aware that yes, this is a good spot. Highly recommended overall!
