1 bedroom, 1 bath w/ loft; sleeps 4 on main level w/additional 3 beds (2 queen, 1 double) in loft plus futon. 155 feet of lake shore w/new dock. Cabin is located on lake next to public access. Located on Sanborn Lake in Backus, MN, 2 miles east of Hwy 371 on Hwy 87. 23 miles to Leech Lake/Walker and 40 miles north of Brainerd. 2 miles to the scenic Paul Bunyan State Trail system. Sanborn Lake is a 230 acre lake that has 2.46 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of 48 feet. Sanborn Lake offers opportunities for anglers seeking a variety of species. The lake has historically been known for its bass and panfish along with good numbers of Northern Pike. The clarity of the lake is anywhere from 15 to 25 feet during the entire season.
Note: No single renters under the age of 25. This is a family cabin rental.

Great Lake Location!

Loved everything about our stay, especially the location! Lake Sanborn is beautiful and so peaceful. Fishing was great too! Will definitely stay again.

Had a great time

My husband, our 3 kids and myself stayed over the 4th of July and had a great time! The lake is very nice, the other people around seem very kind and the owners were very nice and helpful with suggestions of events in the area. The spiral staircase was a little scary with our youngest, but other than that the place was perfect for us.

Peaceful and private

Loved this place. And want to stay again next year. Better deal than a resort and have privacy of your own dock. Huge yard. Amenities were perfect. And getting a hold of the owner was easy and simple. Owner replied right away.

Nice gem in the woods

This property is nestled in the woods with a great view of Sanborn Lake. The house is well decorated with up north decor.

Quiet Area ,Nice Lake, and Wildlife to greet you. Great Hosts!

One evening a Doe greeted us. Seemed to be curious about what we were doing. We got as close as 20 feet away. She turned her head and stared at us awhile and slowly went on her way. Awesome!

Had am amazing Memorial Day weekend!

Our stay was excellent. We enjoyed as much time on the water as possible. My son fished off the dock and caught 7 bass over the course of 3 days along with crappie and sun fish. The house was perfect for us and the kids loved sleeping in the loft. The owners we’re very responsive and helpful.

Loved our stay...Perfect location and getaway!

I wish the best of luck to Peter and Kathy, both wonderful people and were very accompanying. This cabin is just the right fit for a small family and has everything you would need for your trip. The cabin is just a short walk to the lake, which is a very easy lake to fish if you have boat access. The location of the cabin is also just a short drive from Hwy 371 and minutes from a large grocery/hardware store. The cabin is very clean and in new condition, and has it's own water system with plenty of hot water. The price to rent this for a week was very reasonable, and I would definitely recommend this property to anyone.

Perfect vacation home!

Everything was updated and the house was perfect for our family of 4. The lake is a typical northern mn clear water lake, couldn't ask for better water. Very minimal bugs also. We would definitely return.

Located 40 miles north of Brainerd and 20 miles south of Leech Lake/Walker. Just 2 miles East of Hwy 371 in Backus, MN. WIthin 2 miles of the Paul Bunyan Trail System.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

Small quiet lake area with good fishing and nice hard bottom swimming area. Small cozy cabin with loft. Will sleep 6 comfortably.
