While this property is in an older building, the location is excellent and the view is stunning! The 10th floor ocean view made for some great sunsets on the balcony, and some great sea turtle spotting, right off the beach below. (On our last day there, some turtles actually laid eggs on the beach between this property and the one next door, so the area was roped off.) The resort is easy to get to, and has very quick access to Hwy 30. Kahana Beach itself has shrunk over the past 20 years since we last stayed on the property to the south of this one. But it is still passable for walking at low tide. Pool and elevators are in good shape. Considering the lower price than neighboring properties, this one was a good choice for us. Some challenges: while the communication from the owner was excellent, we had some things that needed attention upon check-in, and contacted the owner's local agent. It took them 1.5 days to get back to us, and one of the issues never got resolved during our 5 day stay. It was a plumbing problem -- the shower's water temperature was stuck on all the way hot, making it hard to get clean. This is rough in a tropical climate where just going outside makes you sweaty. But the owner gave us a partial refund. The owner is a nice guy and was very reasonable to deal with. I would rent from him again.
