This Shepherd’s Hut was so lovely and cosy, it had everything we needed and was in such a beautiful location - the perfect hub for enjoying this area of the Lake District.The view from the windows were amazing - seeing the sheep just outside and out down the hills towards Bassenthwaite Lake was very picturesque.Matt was a friendly host too - we definitely hope to stay again one day

Lovely peaceful place to stay, clean, everything you need for a comfortable stay, not too far from the centre of Keswick, ideal for travelling short distances to the start of lots of hiking trails. The views, sunrise, sunset are stunning! I loved staying on a working farm with all the sounds and smells of the countryside! The 0715 sheep bleeding ‘alarm clock’ had me bouncing out of bed each morning. Keep an eye out for some friendly bats in the evening, they put on a fabulous flying display if you’re lucky!

Gorgeous location!

We had a great stay in Croft Head, the views are amazing, and it was lovely to see the lambs every morning! The hut had everything we needed for our short stay and we probably would have used the fire pit on an evening if the weather had been kinder.

Wonderful stay

We really enjoyed our stay at the Shepherds hut. A fantastic location, so peaceful and beautiful. Watching the sun set over the water each evening was fantastic. The shepherds hut was really clean and had everything we needed and the bed was very comfy. We would love to come back again!

Perfect little getaways with fabulous views

We were lucky to spend the bank holiday weekend in this little gem of a find - amazing views down to bassenwaithe, so quiet and peaceful - and the hut was so lovely. Would absolutely recommend and will be back!

Just returned from couple of nights in Matthew's Shepherd Hut. Stunning location, breathtaking views, immaculate accomodation, first class host. What's not to love. Cant wait to return

A beautiful and unique stay in a first class shepherd's hut

This shepherd's hut is a delightful place to stay. Every detail was perfect and everything that you could possibly need was available inside the hut. The view to the lake was delightful with a bench outside to sit on and relax. Good facilities, hot water, heaters if you need them, and a very comfortable bed. Really enjoyed my stay, thank you!

We had an amazing stay! Everything was perfect.. beautiful area and the Shepard's hut had everything we needed, sadly there was another shepherds hut next to us and we was under the impression we would be totally alone BUT overall gorgeous place to stay!
