Family Mountain Getaway - Explore Cripple Creek

Welcome to the Bison Getaway! Come stay at this beautiful home nestled in the mountains located near the entrance of Cripple Creek. You will find all the amenities you need to relax and enjoy the beautiful Colorado mountains and the cozy town of Cripple Creek.

The main floor has an open great room and kitchen, one bedroom (king) and bathroom. The great room includes a power reclining sofa, love seat and a 52" flat screen. Enjoy the comfort of memory foam mattresses in each bedroom. The upstairs has 2 bedrooms (both queen) and their own bathrooms. There are flat screen TVs with streaming in each room.

Come explore Cripple Creek! Whether you want to spend time hiking the trails, touring the mines or enjoying the casinos, Bison Getaway is the best place to stay.

Worth every penny

We were delighted to enter and find a small decorated Christmas tree and a strand of lights going up the stairway rail to set the tone for our Christmas stay. Spotless. Roomy. Peaceful. Plentry of recliners. Very homey. The kitchen and bathrooms were well-supplied. Quiet neighborhood with quick access to all attractions including the ice castles. Communications with our hostess were immediate and friendly. Thank you so much, Kari, for sharing your beautiful home with our family where we were able to hold our sweet baby granddaughter for the first time!

Cute Home in Cripple Creek

The place was the perfect place for a couple of friends to stay. Each couple had their room and bathroom. The place was super clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed, including coffee in the morning. We loved the proximity to Golden Nugget, which was within walking distance, and spent most of our time. The weather was in the 50s too cold for us Californians to walk to the downtown area or the other casinos, so we drove there. We enjoyed the restaurant in the Double Eagle Casino, which we ate a few times for dinner. I would highly recommend this place away from home when visiting Cripple Creek!

Always wonderful

We have stayed at Family Mountain Retreat several times in the past few years and it has always been wonderful. It is a family tradition to go to the Butte Theater every fall and Kari's home is our favorite place to stay. It is close to Cripple Creek' s main road and it is so peaceful and quiet. We always have a wonderful time. Thanks so much for your hospitality Kari!!

We very much enjoyed Cripple Creek and found that there was much to do with a nice variety of shops, restaurants and casinos. The shop proprietors were very friendly and helpful. We found the home to be comfortable and met all of our needs. We would consider staying again at this property as it was clean and well-maintained.

Wonderful!!

We had a wonderful time. The house was great, just far enough from town to be very peaceful; yet, close enough to walk to the town. The yard was fenced in which was a big plus for our dog. The house is well insulated, you would never know there was anyone in the adjoining home. We had a great time in Cripple Creek and it was so wonderful to be able to return to the peace and quiet of the house and not be staying in one of the hotels

Excellent Rental

I rented this location for a weekend in Cripple Creek with my mom, godparents, boyfriend and our small dog and it was perfect. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms so we all had privacy. The neighborhood was quiet and we saw a lot of wildlife throughout the day. It rained pretty hard one day while we were there but we played games and relaxed. The owner was very responsive in text and great to work with. I highly recommend this home.

Comfortable and convenient.

We enjoyed our stay. It's a short drive to Pikes Peak (1 hour) and a short drive to Royal Gorge (1 hour) and Canon city. Scenery is beautiful.

Cripple Creek

My family enjoyed our stay in Cripple Creek. We love being in small towns and enjoy seeing the beautiful country. We visited Pikes Peak, Manitou Cave Dwelling, Outlaw and Jail Museum, and drive the backroads. Saw lots of wildlife. The manager was wonderful, easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again if we come to this area.

Excellent, clean residence

We stayed in Cripple Creek when we were visiting Canon City. The house was extremely clean and well stocked. Kari was amazing to work with and even let us bring our inflatable pool for our grandson to cool off in after a long day of events.

Perfect Rental Home for us.

The house was perfect, exactly as advertised. Kari was great to work with. Enjoyed our time gambling, touring the gold mine-Mary Kathleen, informative old train ride, interesting tour of the old jail, 2 of our family experienced 'vibes' when in the 1st jail cell. Hopefully some of us will be back in Cripple Creek again next year . We would definitely stay at this place.

Great House, Great Location, Great Value

We came here for a quick guys weekend and the house was great. Walking distance to all of the attractions in town and a convenience store located directly across the street. Host was very communicative, friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be coming back!

Great Place!

This house's location is perfect for a stay in the city. You can walk to the casinos. Very comfortable and clean! Pantry well stocked! Highly recommend.
