A very cosy and airy 3rd floor one bedroom flat with views over the bustling Western Road and only a 8 minute walk to the seaside. I designed the interior decoration myself and wanted to creating a fusion between a luxurious 'Soho house-style' space and a home-away from home.

Well appointed and great location

Let’s start with the view! The kitchen and bedroom windows look directly across to an old church. What’s better than that? The kitchen is all new, modern and lovely, they have a lot of equipment and if I had needed to cook, I would’ve been able to do pretty much whatever I needed to. The bathroom is tiny, but it is well appointed. They do need to provide a mirror above the sink though. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom is beautiful with heavy blackout velvet curtains. I felt well taken care of going to sleep my first night after a plane from the US and a train down to Brighton. Be aware that this is a third floor walk up, if you are American that means the fourth floor. And also be aware that you need to pick up the key from a local shop. That turned out to be easier than I expected. All in all, a great place to stay for one or two people .

We are a couple who live in Hove with our son and our two black labs. I used to work in fashion in central London and gave it up after moving to Hove in order to be the primary carer for our son and to manage our Air BnB. My husband works for a Market research company and travels into London occasionally but mostly works from home.

We love trying out new restaurants in the area and are always keen to pass on our findings to our guests.

We have always hosted people in our own home like they were arriving to an AirBnb so having a real AirBnB has always been our dream.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

The flat is situated a minute's walk from the bustling Western Road where you will find many excellent restaurants, exciting little independent cafes, a beautiful florist (worth just going in to have a look even if you don't buy anything!), pubs and all the convenience stores you need. You are also about an 8 minute walk to the sea. What you need to know about Hove is that it is so much less busy than Brighton. Even on the hot days, the Hove end of the beach is a much quieter spot. We are always on hand to recommend where to go and where to absolutely avoid. Before we lived in the area we used to come to Hove a few times a year and very keen to pass on what we learned.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

There are a mix of paid parking bays and permit holder only bays in the street. The two parallel streets also have similar parking if needed. Parking will need to be paid 9am-6pm Monday-Sunday but there are no 'no return' restrictions. Because the flat is so central, you are most likely to walk wherever you go and if you go slightly further out into Brighton and do not want to walk back, regular buses service Western road and taxis are very inexpensive.
