Surrounded by three acres of meadows and lawns, this unique setting is a haven for birdwatchers, kayakers, fishing enthusiasts, and anyone seeking tranquility in unspoiled landscapes. Watch ospreys soar, herons wade, and the tides gently shift right from your doorstep.

Step onto your private deck and take in panoramic views of tidal marshes, two light houses, winding creeks, and the sparkling Connecticut River as it meets Long Island Sound.

The main house has two bedrooms that comfortably accommodate up to four guests, each with a fully renovated en-suite bathroom. An adjacent guesthouse with two bedrooms is available on demand, for an additional fee. The guest house is more rustic and does not have central AC.

Quiet and beautiful location in a charming house. Country walks, watching birds, butterflies, bunnies. A short drive to the beach, farm stands, ice cream and library. The views were spectacular at any time of day!

We had a fantastic stay. The house and property were beautiful and as advertised. We enjoyed watching sunsets over the CT river and Long Island sound. The owner and property manager were very responsive.

Our stay in this lovely house was just wonderful! The perfect balance of a classic, old shore cottage with some nice updates and conveniences. The bedding was super comfy, the kitchen and living room were bright and airy, the view from the spacious deck was incredible, especially for sunset viewing. Morning coffee on the sunny patio, swims and kayaking off the dock, birdwatching and stargazing were just some of our daily activities. Between the main house and the darling guest house, we had plenty of space for our family of 4 and some rotating visitors. This place is truly a gem!

This clean 2 bedroom house was charming with wood clad walls and a lodge style feeling. The kitchen was bright and new and well equipped with up to date equipment and fully stocked with everything one would need! The 2 bathrooms were newer and bright and clean. The living room and dining room and den were bright with rows of windows that offered western views of the CT river and wildlife preserve, and lovely sunsets, too! The living room featured a fire place, large screen TV, and stylish and comfortable furniture. The house is pet friendly. The host was easy to talk with and the property manager was also very responsive if we had a need or problem.I would have given a 5 star rating but unfortunately the central air conditioner broke and was unable to be repaired during the 2 weeks we were there. The property manager immediately had air conditioning units placed in both of the bedrooms, but despite several fans placed to draw the cool air into the living room and kitchen the rooms became unbearably hot in the afternoon. Air conditioners were unable to be placed in either the kitchen or living room because because of the type of windows. The owner was helpful and supportive and gave me a paartial rebate.

Sehr schönes Haus an toller Lage!

Das Haus und das Nebenhaus sind sehr gut eingerichtet. Wir hatten alles, was es für einen gemütlichen und angenehmen Aufenthalt braucht. Das Badezimmer im Nebenhaus ist allerdings sehr klein. Das Check-in und Check-out waren absolut unkompliziert und der Hausverwalter hat sich gut um unser Wohl gekümmert. Es war eine tolle Woche mit Freunden in einem grossartigen Haus!

Here's this review in English! The house and the neighboring house are very well furnished. We had everything needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The bathroom in the neighboring house is very small. The check-in and check-out were absolutely uncomplicated and the caretaker took good care of our well-being. It was a great week with friends in a great house! Thanks to Carole and her group for the review. We're so glad you enjoyed the house.

Outstanding in all respects!

Awesome! Where do we begin… first and foremost we can’t thank the owners and caretaker (Jeff) enough for the amazing stay and opportunity to enjoy this incredibly beautiful, charming property, filled with tender loving care and warm, family atmosphere just like home. This well appointed, clean, spacious and conveniently located Old Lyme, CT home was perfect for celebrating our daughter’s graduation from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT and attending the many Academy graduation events (not more than 20-25 minute drive). The breathtaking views of the Connecticut River, Great Island Wildlife Area and sunsets were absolutely magnificent. The home and front yard overlooking the water was ideal for family celebrations, outdoor activities, and bon fires at the available fire pit, cookouts, and quiet strolls along the riverfront. This home was perfectly designed and built to create wonderful, lifelong family memories and its’ numerous pleasant and comfy accents will make any special occasion unforgettable. The home itself has a large, bright kitchen with plenty of counter space and it’s open, spacious floor plan with large dining room and table, outdoor patios and expansive, walk-out deck (equipped with awnings and patio furniture) are perfect for both outdoor and indoor entertaining. Even during inclement weather, we had plenty of space in the living room to set up extra tables allowing us to continue enjoying the awesome riverfront view and wildlife bird preserve full of amazing creatures, especially the resident Ospreys and Swans nesting nearby. Moreover, the detached, nearby guest house provided plenty of extra sleeping capacity and was perfect for younger family members to just hang out and chill. We highly recommend this property, especially to those who are seeking good old fashion family fun and relaxation, and most importantly lifelong, special memories. Thank you!

When you arrive you are greeted by the spectacular view of the The secluded three-acre property is one the edge of two-mile long Great Island nature reserve, offering the kind of privacy that is almost unheard of on the East Coast of America. The property has a a dock and a boat house that leads to the Connecticut River and more than 1,000 acres of beaches and federally protected habitats for osprey, and a vast array for birds, and fish that gather at the mouth of the river that leads to Long Island Sound.

Days are filled with swimming, kayaking, sailing, fishing, crabbing, hiking and exploring. At breakfast and dinner you will experience breathtaking sunsets and sunrises and some of the best views on the U.S. East Coast. Some have likened it to being on the African savanna because of the vast expanses.

It's all is accessible by boat or kayak, but not cars.

The property is a perfect launch pad for some of the finest fishing, hiking, kayaking in the world. You can fish for striped bass, blue fish, fluke, black sea bass, flounder and more.stripers, blue fish, etc. You can expect to eat fish every day caught from the sea.
