1 bdrm1 bath apt/priv entrance (1 pers/couple), guest Fly Fishing badge(s) avail upon request, on 600+ acre private property & open space at Ranch at Roaring Fork. Walk 100 yards to the Roaring Fork River, and enjoy 3 miles of gold medal Fly Fishing on the Roaring Fork River, including excellent streams, and ponds. The Ranch provides hiking & biking paths, tennis and golf, and abundant bird watching. Short 5 minute drive to the downtown creative district of Carbondale, with great restaurants, music, art, coffee shops and yoga. Aspen/Snowmass ski resort are 28 miles east (40 minute drive via car or RFTA bus).

Clean and bright one bedroom [king sized bed] attached unit accommodates two people comfortably and spills out onto a private garden patio/parking for one vehicle. cooking area, living room / sitting area, New AC/heat pump system, cable TV, internet, new W/D, electric fireplace, patio propane grill. You'll find some staples such as coffee, tea, 2 Lara bars, 2 Lacroix, and 2 beers, upon arrival. One really good small non shedding dog might be considered for a pet fee and pre-approval by owner / leashed at all times and never left unattended or alone. Two people maximum and not suitable for young children, as we are surrounded by water. Absolutely No smoking in or on the property.
500 acres of outdoor enjoyment along the banks of the Roaring Fork River, ponds, bird watching, hiking and biking trails. Par three golf course, as well as two tennis courts on property. Gold medal fishing upon request.

Private, even though we're just off major highway 82 with access to Carbondale (5 minutes) or upvalley to Aspen areas (40 minutes). 1 mile to Rio Grande bike trail and 3 miles to great mountain bike trails. We are surrounded by world class white water kayak and rafting opportunities, as well.

Fishing Paradise

Heidi and Paul are great hosts! Their one bedroom apartment is a short walk to the private fishing streams and their outdoor patio was perfect for morning coffee. We will stay there again if their place is available the next time we visit the Ranch.

Wonderful Roaring Fork Valley stay

This apartment was perfect for us! The Wade’s are gifted hosts that have curated a special stay in the Roaring Fork Valley. Impeccably clean with everything we needed for cooking (including a gas range), relaxing (fantastic view and property), and sleeping (super comfy bed and cool night air). So close to everything we wanted to do. Thank you Heidi & Paul, we look forward to a return visit!

Great stay in Carbondale

The apartment is attached to a larger house but is completely private. Very well equipped and clean. Easy to get from there to all the valley has to offer - biking, hiking, dining in both Basalt and Carbondale. And if you’re at all into fly fishing it can’t be beat. The neighborhood has lots of private water (smallish streams) with lots of big rainbows. Easy to walk to plenty of fishing spots. Of course, you can also drive to the Frying Pan river for gold medal waters. We had a great time!

Fishing paradise

One min walk to fishing from back porch! Dawn to dusk fun. Never had to go off the Ranch to enjoy miles of private trout streams and ponds. Streams were well groomed and easily fishable from the bank or wading. Heidi and her husband were responsive and super helpful whenever I needed anything or had questions. Interior was spotless and very comfortable. Didn’t want to leave :)!

Not private!

You will be in a space in someone’s house, with little privacy and it feels icky. I was discussing the temp of the space and I got a message that I should keep the place closed up. My wife and I felt we had to whisper to each other. Each day when we returned the sliding screen door was not closed, even though we had closed it. The host claimed she was cleaning the track (every day?) I think she was entering our room. We were in a celebratory mood and were playing music I was asked to turn it down because the walls were “very thin”. Yet she had to apologize to us because her grandkids were over and made a lot of racket. No dogs allowed but her dog is barking and coming up to sniff you. We left a day early because we hated being there. If you just want to eat, shower, and sleep it works. If you want chill forget about.it. Much more I could say but I just want to move on from this waste of money.

I am so sorry that Duane and his wife (neither of whom ever made an effort to introduce themselves to me) were so unhappy with their visit. They, apparently, did not read the property description provided on the VRBO site, as they were surprised to learn that the apartment is attached to our home. I asked them to turn down their music, which I could hear through my earbuds while listening to my TV, despite having sound insulated walls. We did have our grand children over, one evening for dinner, and I did apologize for any extra noise. We have very active bear activity so I do check the patio”daily” for trash, recycling, general clean up, of which “cleaning the track” on the slider is one of my routines so as to insure the door glides smoothly. Our two dogs do bark, which, hopefully, does keep some bear activity low. We live in an area where wildlife is abundant which is WHY we have dogs, and why we don’t allow guests to bring their dogs. For Duane to suggest that I was opening the screen door and “entering the apartment” is outrageous and insulting and he is, absolutely, not invited back. Full disclosure/If your desire is to stay inside, drinking and playing loud music for several days, you should rent a hotel room instead of a one bdrm apt attached to a private home on a private fly fishing ranch.

Perfect location for all the activities in the Roaring Fork. Heidi is a lovely host and has a wealth of local knowledge and suggestions for the best places to go. A wonderful stay!

Ranch at Roaring Firk

Nice location close to fly fishing. Owners were gracious hosts. Bed was good. Futon couch was not comfortable, but we sat outside most of time.

Good Value

Very clean (but small) accommodation 200 yds from a private 600 acre park with two miles of River frontage on the Roaring Fork. Heidi was a gracious and friendly host. Look forward to visiting again.

wonderful hosts great fishing

I'm almost reluctant to praise the fishing for fear of that secret getting out but that was a highlight. Heidi and Paul could not have been more friendly and accommodating we enjoyed taking to them. Patio was peaceful and comfortable. Unexpected Kcups were provided and detergent for the laundry. See you again in the fall.

Unique property

This apartment is located on some of the most beautiful land in the Roaring Fork Valley, with beautiful and easily accessible hiking, biking and fishing. It was comfortable and well equipped. Heidi was friendly and helpful. Would stay again!

Outstanding!!!

This VRBO and the hosts are absolutely the best. The location is private, and beautiful, situated near Roaring Fork River and associated world class trout streams running through the property of The Ranch at Roaring Fork. Can hear the beautiful sounds of the river from the private outside patio and in evening deer amble across the property - fun to see as sipping glass of wine from patio. The hosts are fabulous, friendly and attentive. The VRBO property itself is outfitted with everything you need, from kitchen to bath to living areas. Immaculate and clean. Bed wonderfully comfortable. Electric fireplace adds to ambiance as well as touch of warmth in early am or evening. I have stayed at many VRBO and Airbnb and this one is among the best. You can relax and refresh and retreat here -things we all need right now!

Beautiful!

Everything was just perfect! Beautiful, peaceful surroundings, the apartment is appointed perfectly. The owners are just wonderful! And the location is close to town but still very serene. We will be back!

My husband, Paul, and I have lived in the Roaring Fork Valley for 43 years and have raised our two girls here in Carbondale. Paul and I teach skiing on Aspen Mountain in the winter. He is a Contractor/Carpenter (WadeCo LLC) and fishing guide in the Gunnison Gorge Monument during the summer months, and I Co-own Heidi Hat, a women’s yoga wear and hat accessories fashion brand, made in Carbondale, with my daughter, Kelly, who lives in Aspen. Our other daughter, Ali, works as a Pre School teacher in Carbondale. We are all part of this unique area and look forward to sharing the community with our guests.
