Vintage Advertisements Themed luxury condo, 2 blocks from French Quarter

Thank you Mary and family for your time to write us a review. Sad we didn't get the full 5 Stars or the 10 out of 10 rating. We would love to host you again and give us another chance. Honestly, we just cannot express enough what a perfect locations The Picayune Building ois to all there is to do, go, see and EAT in the downtown area, yet far enough away, ( 3 blocks ) from the 24/7 chaos of Bourbon St., so you can get much needed rest and sleep to be able to get up and do it all over again the next morning.

We try to express all the positives about The Picayune Building, location being the top one, but it all comes down to the attention to detail your housekeeping krewe has. We did get a little chuckle on the feels modern comment, since the building is circa 1850's and the theme of this condo is "Vintage Advertisements", the furniture does have a Mid-Century Modern feel, with the hardwood cabinetry, period wood floors, granite and new stainless appliances. This building was quite fun to coordinate with the owners and decorators. The design concept was easy, since this was The Daily Picayune Newspaper building, each of the condos is "themed" and decorated based on sections of the newspaper, over the ages; Daily Picayune through currently Times-Picayune Newspaper, still in print today, but moved from this building, between 1969 - 1971. We would love to host you again!

Thank you Susan and friends for the review. Looks like we learned a few things; we do not use the washer and dryer in the condo to wash the linens or terry cloth, it all is sent out to a commercial laundry service, So now we have scheduled for an appliance repair person to come out and check out the dryer. Fridge water filter was replaced, but that pesky light won't go off, and on the roof leak, wow, that was some heavy rain for 3 days. There was debris found on the roof, blocking the scuppers out to the downspout, so all that 4-5 inches of rain had pooled on the roof. All cleared and draining good now. Glad you did like the location of The Picayune building, and how comfortable those beds are. I'd say come back for JazzFest 2027, but the past few years, it has become more of a rainy MudFest, but still able to make some memories with friends.

Yes, everything is so very walkable! Our addition of the Grocery Concierge Service started during 2020, well, actually during football season of 2019, for our regulars that come in to tailgate. Although New Orleans has some of the best foods, the world over, but it's still good to have a few snacks, munchies, bottles of water or adult beverages already in the condo, so you can start your vacation and relaxations, as soon as you get inside. Thanks for the mention to our detail orientated housekeeping krewes that keep this 175 year old building in the best shape it can be. It is amazing that visitors still opt to stay in a cramped hotel room instead of almost 1200 sq ft of room to spread out in and having a second bathroom, even better!
