Comfortable and Quiet

This home is just as described in the listing. It is in a quiet neighborhood. We were in town for a short two-night stay and chose this property because of its proximity to the venue where we were going. The house was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay there again the next time we are back in Portland.

A very pleasant stay for our family

We relocated to Portland and stayed at Melanie’s place for 19 nights before moving in to our long-term rental. The most we enjoyed about her place: spacious, quiet neighborhood, walkable to dining and grocery shopping, comfortable, on-site parking for one car, and an excellent view of the sky from the second floor living quarters. Melanie responded promptly to any of our questions. The no-shoes-in-the-house policy was fine for us as we do the same in our own residence. The only issue for us was the twin bed was a bit short in length for my husband. Also, it would have been convenient to have a toaster but in our case we needed one in our next rental and purchased one. Other than that we were very pleased to find Melanie’s rental. Both Melanie and her husband are personable and helpful and we enjoyed talking with them too.

Garden: We like flowers and have some organic canned and dried food for the winter.

Exercise: A very small workout room used daily

When we vacation, we enjoy nature, urban and rural settings, and interesting people.

This space has a lot of natural light with great views of the sunrise and sunset. We love living 4 doors down from a park and two blocks from our church. Wildlife actually comes into our backyard which has a small pond. We enjoy walking through Reed Canyon, to the library, Bi-Mart, Safeway, New Seasons, Trader Joe's, Ace Hardware, coffee shops, Asian restaurants, medical services, etc. Our neighborhood has a sweet feeling of families who take care of the elderly with an Asian flair.

Our neighborhood is really quiet. Often, people tell us that they forget that they are only 15 min. from downtown. With an undeveloped street bordering our property, it feels like we have a country road access to the apartment, which is located above our garage/shop.
