Welcome to Ideal Landing – Your Perfect Year-Round Northwoods Retreat on Kimble Lake. Escape to cozy fall colors, peaceful snow-covered winters, and crisp early-spring mornings at this family-friendly lakeside cabin in the heart of Minnesota’s lake country.
Breathe in the fresh northern air and take in panoramic lake views from every corner of this spacious, family-friendly cabin. With 200 feet of private shoreline, a gentle sandy beach, and a 22' Bennington pontoon available for rent, Ideal Landing is your dream getaway for summer fun, cozy fall weekends, or wintery lake views.
Step inside to a warm and inviting open-concept main level with a fully stocked kitchen, generous dining space, and a relaxing living room anchored by a stunning two-story stone wood-burning fireplace—perfect for toasty winter nights or crisp autumn mornings with coffee in hand. You’ll also find a main-level bedroom with a comfortable queen-size bed. Upstairs, an oversized loft offers sweeping lake views year-round, from brilliant fall foliage to peaceful frozen-lake scenes. Cozy up in the plush king bed or curl up in the reading nook after a day of snowshoeing or sledding. There are two futons—perfect for additional sleeping space or lounging. With plenty of storage and room to spread out, it’s an ideal spot for relaxing or sleeping. The lower level features a bunk room with twin beds, another queen-sized bed, second full bath, full laundry, and a comfy family room with a gas fireplace—ideal for movie nights or a kid-friendly retreat.
Outside, the lakeside experience is unbeatable. Your stay includes two private docks, two firepits with plenty of cut wood (including one just steps from the water), and a paved driveway that’s perfect for kids to bike and play or perfect their artwork with sidewalk chalk. Enjoy endless activities with 2 stand-up paddleboards, a canoe, a kayak, and a paddleboat—all available for your use. Beach toys, a hammock, and ample yard games like bean bag toss are all available for your enjoyment, making it easy to relax and have fun right on the property. When the snow falls, the fun continues—build snowmen on the lawn, roast marshmallows over the lakeside firepit, or stargaze under a clear winter sky. The property’s flat yard and paved driveway make it easy for kids to sled or play safely.
For guests looking to explore the lake in style, we also offer a pontoon boat —perfect for cruising, fishing, or anchoring at the nearby sandbar for a day of fun in the sun. Inquire for details.
Guests can also explore the connecting lake channels right from our shoreline — paddle your way to Ossawinnamakee or Bass Lake using one of our kayaks, canoes, or paddleboats. The calm channels are perfect for families and young adventurers. Keep an eye out for hidden “gold rocks” along the way and the larger-than-life wildlife sculptures tucked among the trees — it’s a truly magical experience the kids won’t forget!
Kimble Lake is a 197-acre spring-fed lake known for its exceptional clarity and peaceful atmosphere. There’s a beautiful sandbar straight out from our property, perfect for anchoring, swimming, and relaxing in the shallows. Some natural aquatic plants near the shoreline are DNR protected, helping preserve the pristine environment.
As night falls, gather around the firepit for stories under the stars, or simply look up—our north-facing shoreline often rewards guests with glimpses of the Northern Lights when conditions are right. On crisp winter nights, the frozen lake sparkles beneath the moonlight for an unforgettable Minnesota experience.

Acerca del anfitrión
Anfitrión: Jesse Brekke
We’re Jesse and Debbie Brekke, a Minnesota-based family living in St. Louis Park with our three young kids and our friendly yellow lab. We both work in sales and love spending time outdoors, especially at the lake. Jesse grew up in Eden Prairie and went to Gustavus Adolphus College—he’s a huge Vikings fan who enjoys golf, basketball, and hanging with the kids. Debbie is originally from near Sioux Falls and a proud University of Minnesota grad who loves cooking, decorating, and family adventures.
Our kids (all under 10) are happiest outside—swimming, biking, building sandcastles, and cruising on the pontoon. We created Ideal Landing to be a place where families and friends can relax, recharge, and make memories. We hope you enjoy the lake as much as we do!

Por qué eligió esta propiedad
We’ve been visiting Kimble Lake with friends for over 20 years, and when the chance came to purchase a property here, we knew it was something special. Kimble is truly the perfect-sized lake—ideal for boating, fishing, paddleboarding, beach days, and peaceful loon watching. It offers everything you’d hope for in an Up North getaway.
The community on Kimble Lake is close-knit, friendly, and deeply committed to preserving the lake’s natural beauty. It’s a spring-fed gem and part of the Ossawinnamakee Chain of Lakes, known for clean, clear water. In the spring and summer, you’ll likely spot loon families raising their chicks—please admire them from a respectful distance to help protect this magical part of the lake experience.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad
What makes Ideal Landing truly special is its elevated bluff location, offering breathtaking, panoramic views of Kimble Lake from nearly every room in the home. The gentle elevation creates a unique “bird’s eye” perspective—you can watch the kids playing on the beach, keep an eye on the lake activity, or simply soak in the scenery from the deck or loft. Every time you walk in, the view takes your breath away. It’s a rare vantage point that adds magic to every stay.
