Peace and tranquility await! Come relax, unwind, and enjoy nature less than one mile from the world renowned Chautauqua Institution. Access all that western New York has to offer (birding, boating, cycling, beaches, fishing, golf, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, trails and parks) while staying at our clean and cozy cabin in the woods. #cozycabinCHQ

An expansive deck overlooks the wooded rear of the property and the beautiful pond. The covered deck with skylights has ample seating for entertaining and can be enjoyed during any season. Two sets of French doors welcome you into the great room with pine floors and a bright kitchen. There are 4 bedrooms and a full bath upstairs. The basement level offers a an additional bedroom, full bath, and family room with queen sleeper sofa which walks out to the pond, fire pit, and backyard. A delightful pathway through the woods leads to the pond with a little shore.
The cabin is a 2 minute drive to Lighthouse Grocery and 5 minutes to Tops grocery store (downtown Mayville), boat rental at Chautauqua Marina, Webb's Restaurant, Andriaccio's Restaurant, Chautauqua Lake Snowmobile Club, Chautauqua Golf Club, wineries, restaurants and more. A short 15 minute drive into Bemus Point to ride the Chautauqua Belle, visit shops, eat ice cream, take a carriage ride, enjoy refreshments at Ellicotville Brewing Company, and so much more. We are located 20 minutes from Peek 'N Peak Resort and Spa, are a short drive around the lake to Midway State Park, Long Point State Park, Southern Tier Brewing Company, Panama Rocks Scenic Park, Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum (Jamestown), Chautauqua Point Golf Club, Audubon Community Nature Center (Jamestown), and Holiday Valley Resort. If you don't feel like venturing out, enjoy our 3 acre relaxing retreat. Perfect for families and couples.

There is NO AIR CONDITIONING/AC in the cabin but plenty of windows to let the breeze in. Additionally, please bring your own bottled water as system runs on well and be conservative with taking long showers as to not over tax the well. Thank you.

Great Getaway Spot

Great stay at cozy cabin

The house was comfortable with a beautiful covered deck and a side deck. The house was a great size for two families. The kitchen was fairly well equipped. The house is conveniently located to various attractions in the area. We would definitely stay there again.

Peaceful retreat

This was a quaint, well equipped cabin that was perfect in all respects. It was peaceful and quiet. Yet, it was located very close to the Chataugua compound. It was nicely furnished and big enough to accommodate everyone in our group. The property around the house was very nice- with a large yard and a beautiful pond. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Worth the price

Excellent property. Location is 1.4 miles to Chautauqua Institute. No air conditioning so it can get hot. Quiet., clean, and good for a group of 5 that need their own space. We loved our stay. Could use an information book about use of property and local resources.

Cabin in the Woods

We ejnoyed our stay at the Cabin in the Woods. Convenient location to essential shopping and good eating establishments. Minutes from interstate roads with internet access for necessary communications. The pond was a hit with the kids for swimming and frog gathering.

Absolutely perfect!

We rented this property last minute in hopes of getting a "camping " trip in before the summer was over and this place did not disappoint. The cabin was beautiful, clean.and had plenty of room. My boys (8 and 3) loved swimming in the pond every day and catching tadpoles, salamanders and frogs! We had fires everyday, made s'mores and had a beautiful showing of stars every night! The cabin itself was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need, right down to toothbrushes and mouthwash! The owner, Anna, was super communicative leading up to our stay and answered all our questions. We will definitely be staying here again!

Family gathering

Location was good, close to the lake/marina/launch/golf course/groceries; house layout was great as there are 4 rooms up; one room in the basement and a TV/family room in the basement that could be the 6th bedroom. The multiple decks were excellent.

Excellent house and property

My fiancé and I needed a short getaway desperately. The weather unfortunately didn't cooperate, but that didn't matter. The fireplaces and covered deck were amazing. When the house got stuffy, opening the windows provided an amazing breeze. The peace and tranquility that this property offers is unmatched.

retreat for 7 women

We loved the house. We had enough rooms and bathrooms for all. The house is tucked back in the woods and offered dailey deer visitors. One night we had a thunder storm and it was delightful to sit on the covered porch. Recommend this house highly. The inside is exquisite.

Wonderful and private!

We love the privacy of this place. It was beautiful inside, the private pond in the backyard was splendid. We had a great time and it accommodated our large party quite well. Kitchen was well stocked, lack of air conditioning was not an issue for us, I would imagine it could be if temperatures were extremely high, but there was always a breeze. Beautiful home! Everyone in our party liked it and we would definitely stay again.

A pleasing, rustic getaway, a stone’s throw from magical Chautauqua

My family and I nested comfortably in this spacious, comfortable and attractive home. We found the grounds especially appealing to our youngest, with so much room to run around, a large pond to inspect, and all kinds of wildlife. The large open porches were particularly inviting during the extreem heat wave in my July.

Perfect place for multiple people

We enjoyed this cabin for an extra long weekend. It afforded everyone their own space for sleeping and the 2.5 baths made it perfect. We made use of the upper and lower deck/patio, plus the firepit. It is the heart of August, so we brought some extra fans and were just fine despite the 90-degree weather. View of stars at night was wonderful. Had minor issues upon arrival, but Owner was responsive immediately and rectified. We would return.

Great week at Chautauqua Lake

We really enjoyed our getaway this week. We had a fire in the pit every night, used the hot tub, brought a raft and floated around the pond, and grilled some great steaks and burgers. We rented a pontoon boat for a day on the Lake, took a trip on the Chautauqua Belle, and headed over to Erie for a shopping day. It was exactly the relaxing week we needed!

Beautiful property

Wonderful place on a beautiful piece of land. My family and I enjoyed our stay! There is no A/C, and of course it was the hottest part of the summer (90's). Grab the lower bedrooms (lol) There are plenty of fans, but suggest bring a few of your own if it's going to be hot. Otherwise, I hope to rent again next year!

Fantastic spot for a girls weekend!

We had a wonderful stay at this warm and inviting cabin in the woods. Anna was great and very responsive. Everything was clean and there were fans in every room to keep it cool. The living area inside and out was perfect. We had a great girls weekend and enjoyed the hot tub and bon fire. The pictures don’t do this place justice - it was even better than we imagined. Thanks Anna!

Charming cottage

The pictures don’t do this property justice. The host is very responsive and made sure we were comfortable. The property was pristine, well stocked and perfectly located. The pond gives it extra charm. Definitely would highly recommend!
