The property was as described. The views were wonderful. We were able to walk to the beach within a few minutes and the sunsets were spectacular. The only thing that was unfortunate was the weather. We experienced strong winds with the incoming cold front which did not make for good fishing or use of kayaks. I would highly recommend this property.

Great place to stay with beautiful views. Don't forget the bug spray. Flys and mosquitos are all over the island this time of year.

Overall, the stay was good. The icemaker is going to have to have the seals checked.The chopped ice is melting in the door and refreezing. There were quite a few rules on the fridge on arrival. My wife and I really enjoyed the sound side. Very peaceful back there. The kayaks are fairly nice. There are backs on the seats with footrests that are not adjustable, but had different ones for different heights.

Beach house was clean, tidy well organized easy to find anything that was needed perfect spot for having the ocean on one side and the bay on the other would stay there again would recommend it all my family and friends

I’m just gonna say it’s a pretty house not what I expected. Amenities aren’t much kitchen. Utensils aren’t much. There’s no comforts beds are hard. Pillows were hard. The shower barely runs. The couches weren’t comfortable. The porch wasn’t even comfortable to sit on. It was small with a bunch of bunch of chairs that sit below the balcony. I wouldn’t rent it again.

From the minute you arrived you started complaining about everything. We tried to be respectful and courteous to you. Then I have read your over the top nothing but complaints review. I hope that our future renters see that we have almost 100% favorite ratings.

Perfect getaway. Both the Gulf & Sound beaches were nice. Sunset from beach behind the house made the trip. Perfect way to end the day.

The house is beautiful and nicely decorated without being “over the top”. We were very comfortable there and our dogs LOVED being out on the back porch. The area was so peaceful and I hope to go back in the future.

The hosts were awesome to work with and very responsive. GreatLocation and the house was clean and fully stock. We loved our stay and will be back again.

The home had everything we needed for our stay. It is in a perfect location. You can go out back to the bay or cross the street in the front for the gulf. We walked down to West End Beach several times. We loved staying at Czech Mate

I am so glad we were able to make Czech Mate our home for a few days of rest and relaxation. It's a lovely place, super clean, and had everything we needed. I was especially grateful for the slow cooker so I could put a few ingredients in it in the morning and have dinner all ready in the evening. We enjoyed the kayaks and beach area and watching movies in the evening.

The house was great and had plenty of space for our family of five. The sound was amazing! Having never been to Dauphin Island, we didn’t fully know what to expect, but the sand was soft, the water was amazing to wade or swim. Sitting on the back deck, listening to the waves and birds was breathtaking, and we saw dolphins out there every day. Though we often drove down to the bridge or east end of the island, it was nice being at the west end and being able to walk that beach for miles. Highly recommend this house for a low-key, relaxing trip.

Had some issues with the refrigerator. Notified owner. After several texts back and forth, the issue was not addressed.

Our refrigerator guy was down to the house twice but could not get in when we asked you to leave the key in the lock box you didn’t. Also you would not answer phone calls to you so communication was difficult. To be fair we don’t feel like there was anything we could have done differently to help the situation. We were addressing the situation every day the moment you let us know there was a problem. Cosette Povlovich/owner

My wife, dog and I stayed at Czech Mate over New Years. The house is beautiful and clean. Our dog loved swimming in the bay. The front and rear porches are excellent places to relax with a coffee and listen to the waves crash.

We had a great time! The house is very clean and the location is great. It is all the way on the West End beach side. You can cross the street for beach access, a very simple walk. Or go out the back porch to the bay side. The house has a stocked kitchen full of everything you'd need. The TV in the living room has steaming services. The owners are very kind and communicative. Can't wait to come back!
