Farm Stay with animals in beautiful Timber Frame House in the Foothills of W. NC

The beautiful Timber Frame house and the farm is a great place to relax and a great location to explore the area. As you step inside, you'll be greeted by a cozy living room, complete with a fireplace to keep you warm on chilly evenings. Walk out onto the porch and see the miniature horses grazing in the field along with Frick and Frack, two of the friendliest pigs you will ever meet . Take a walk around the farm and visit with the Angora goats and Friendly livestock guardian dogs . A farm tour to meet the animals is included. There is a walking trail on our 50 acres that is about a mile and walk it a few times for your daily exercise. It's different with each season and you'll sometimes barely hear the rustle of leaves and then see 3 or 4 deer prancing through the woods.

Unwind in the comfort of your own home, with amenities like free WiFi, a smart TV with satellite/cable channels, and a washing machine and dryer for your convenience. Linens, blankets and pillows galore! Venture out and explore this beautiful area where you can immerse yourself in the stunning natural beauty of the region.

A truly wonderful farm stay experience. The home is absolutely lovely as are the hosts. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Everything has been thought of from a well-stocked kitchen to spare toothbrushes. All the personal touches really made us feel welcome. Our children adored the animals & we really appreciated Debbi's time giving us a tour.

This is our second year coming to Cherry Mountain Farm! The farm animals drew us in the first time but our whole experience was 10/10 and we couldn't wait to return. It is our favorite family vacation spot (especially for our dog). Craig and Debbi are wonderful hosts and the accommodations are beautiful. The house is fully stocked and we cooked-in for the majority of our meals. The General Store on property is very convenient and has unique gifts and snacks. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation with beautiful views and fun excursions you will love Cherry Mountain!

Our stay at Cherry Mountain Farm was extraordinary!! It was more than we dreamed it could be! Our host, Debbi, went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was perfect in every way! The house was amazing! A work of art...and one that held many works of art, from beautiful watercolor paintings to incredible metal works! The furnishings are lovely and comfy and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need.As charming as the inside was, I could have lived on the front porch! The first morning we were there I watched the sunrise over the mountains. The sounds of the farm were the background melody. The view of the miniature horses, the Angora goats, the pigs, and their new horse Raven was a sight to behold. Our grandchildren visited us there and Debbi treated them like royalty! She encouraged them to engage with all of the animals, allowing them to brush and feed them, as well as teaching them so much about the animals and life on the farm. They loved the train ride! Also, a highlight was the General Store filled with all the candies of times gone by and such fun merchandise. We had to return multiple times for apple slushies and caramel apple cookies!We will return to Cherry Mountain Farm...for day visits and to stay!

Absolutely amazing stay! From the beautiful cabin, lovely hostess, darling general store and beautiful,sweet animals it is a must stay location. We had to pretty much drag our boys off the farm to visit the Biltmore. I cannot say enough how lovely it is, thank you for having us!

If I could give this rental more stars I would. Everything was done to perfection. The home was top notch, every room was spic and span. Our dog LOVED the large fenced in yard but mostly loved lounging on the large porch with Mom & Dad overlooking the farm. The kitchen was well stocked with all the tools you could possibly need. When the grands visited they enjoyed brushing the pigs and meeting the new addition-Raven the horse. Then the grands went on to feed the goats as well as mining for gems. Now to mention the general store. It is stocked with unique quality items from bib overalls, glass sun tea containers, jams, ICE CREAM, and Case knives, etc.Forest City is nearby with restaurants, an arcade museum and a grocery store. There is plenty to do from zip lining, hiking and shopping. But the best part of the rental was the staff. Everyone made you feel welcomed and was willing to help with any questions you may have. The only problem with giving such a glowing review is that the house may be booked the next time we want to rent. We will be back!

We enjoyed our stay at the farm. The house and property are beautiful. The host met us upon arrival and was available if there were any questions. Furnishings in the house were comfortable and the house was clean (which is very important to us). We enjoyed our visit to the General Store which is located on the property and seeing the animals on the farm.

Amazing Stay

This is such a great place to stay for a family. Debbi and Craig have made the house feel like a home away from home and the farm itself is a wonderland for kids! Getting to interact with the animals and watch them all day makes for great vacation memories!

Wow! What an incredible property! We visited the farm for three nights in April. If you prefer quietness and a peaceful setting, the property certainly provides that. However, we traveled with our young grandchildren and it was their ideal trip! From brushing and feeding the pigs, goats and miniature horses to barrel wagon rides and gem mining, there was never a dull moment. Debbi, the host, made sure the kids had a wonderful time! She is simply amazing. The timber farmhouse and grounds are beautifully and thoughtfully maintained. The spacious, lovely porch provided beautiful views. This is a one-of-a-kind property and a truly special place! Thank you Debbi for the love and care you offered us during our stay!

I am very proud of my animals good manners and spending lots of time socializing them from a young age has a lot to do with it, but I have to admit being that Vinny just showed up, I had little to do with his wonderful personality. I definitely lucked out with giving that stray cat a home. I’m sure both Vinny and your son are missing each other.😂😻

I am originally from Queens New York , lived in
St. Louis MO and Rochester NY before working in South Florida for 30 years before retiring and building our dream farm in Western North Carolina. I worked as a Pediatric ICU Nurse then transitioned to medical sales . My husband grew up in W. Palm Beach and retired as a Captain with the Town of Palm Beach Fire Dept in 2012. His family roots were from Burlington/Greensboro/Mebane area of NC but we wanted to be closer to the mountains so we settled in the Foothills . Craig's creativity can be seen all over the farm and it really makes this place unique. I do the farm tours and manage all the animal care and love to talk with our visitors. No matter where our visitors come from we find we always have something in common. We love living in the area and sharing our little slice of heaven with visitors.

This is such a great area and is close to so many fun things to do. We are less than 30 minutes from Tryon International Equestrian Center, waterfalls, hiking, lots of cool towns close by, etc. Our timber frame guest house offers a very warm and inviting space for you to enjoy our beautiful farm or as your resting place after touring the area. We bought the property in 2007 and the only thing on it was an 8 acre hayfield so everything you see , we have done.
It's a great place for kids since they have lots of room and we are pet friendly so our yard is perfect for dog (s) ...only 2 please and please remember to pay the very reasonable dog fee. Many of our guests feel no need to leave the farm other than for basic needs. We're fortunate to have great internet and a fun store and friendly animals. You will have a beautiful fire pit and a nice grilled hooked up to an underground tank so we don't have to worry about you running out of gas in the middle of grilling! Easy access in and no scary roads to navigate at night.
There are 4 grocery store ( Food Lion, Aldi's, Walmart ( they deliver) and Ingles) 10-15 minutes away and 2 neighborhood stores for basics, pizza , ice cream, soda, etc within 5 minutes. Gas station within 5
minutes from farm. Easy drive to Tryon, Columbus, Morganton, Forest City and Spindale.

The sounds and sights of our farm will make you want to come back again! Our animals enjoy visitors, and so do we! If you want to be left alone, we know how to do that! This is a working farm and you have freedom to walk around and visit the animals. There is a mile and 1/3 trail through the woods for your morning or evening walks and plenty of other areas to explore. We have a Gem Mine for the kids ( and adults) and a grain bin gazebo with swings where you can sit in the evening and listen to the sounds of the farm. We are really proud of our great reviews and will always make sure you will not be disappointed with your stay at Cherry Mountain Farm! Please remember if you bring your dog there is a very reasonable dog fee for up to 2 dogs so please check this off when making reservations so it gets added.
