The cozy cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway or can be rented together with Piney Knob Lodge for larger parties, reunions, weddings or church gatherings.
The cabin is outfitted with everything you need for a comfortable stay while you're exploring the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whether you're attending a horse show at the Tryon International Equestrian Center; hiking in the Hickory Nut Gorge; rafting one of the many rivers in the area or exploring the hamlets of Lake Lure, Chimney Rock or Rutherfordton, Piney Knob Cabin is the perfect jumping off spot.

Annual trip

This is our 4th year in a row to stay at this cabin. My 2 boys (9,15) love this cabin and surrounding land. We love to fish, explore and build fires in the fire pit. We also love to look for cray fish and shoot BB guns…

Piney knob

VRBO communication is awful so might not be using VRBO again. Rental was awesome however no washer and dryer. The hot tub is not functioning right but it was ok. Property was amazing!

Perfect Getaway

The property is well maintained, and the listing was spot on. The owners went out of their way to include everything we needed, including little extras. We felt like we were at home, but better. Communications were friendly, and we felt very welcomed and appreciated. Highly recommend!

Great Stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. It was very clean, and the kitchen was equipped for us to cook several meals. The hot tub was clean, the property was beautiful and we really had a great time.

Pure bliss !

If you are looking for a peaceful getaway this is your place ! My boyfriend and I were in town for a baby shower so we made a weekend out of it and this was the perfect place. The cabin was the perfect size for us and I was really impressed with how neat and clean it was. The hot tub was our favorite part of our trip. So so relaxing. The host Bill was so awesome and available for questions when we needed him. Can not recommend this place enough.

Perfect getaway!!

This was a perfect spot for a weekend getaway. The property is secluded and quiet. Bill was so nice. He walked us along his property up a giant hill to see spectacular mountain views. We had everything we needed for cooking. The firepit was awesome and Bill provided more than enough fire wood for us to use. We enjoyed the creek and wandering the property. Just a perfect location for our weekend getaway!!!

Quiet getaway

Been coming here since 2018 , always nice and secluded. This time wasn't as clean as usual , needs small touches like dusting , getting rid of spiderwebs, swiffering floor but still a great stay overall

Perfect cabin rental

The location is beautiful ❤️ Cabin was clean and well maintained. Bring air mattresses and enjoy the cozy loft for sleeping. Fish by the pond, relax by the fire pit, or soak in the hot tub. Owner was kind and a joy to work with. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend for others!

It is an older cabin that suited us well, we don't like hotels so the property was perfect for us ! Secluded, quite and peaceful. What more do you need ?

1st time Anniversary get away

this was our 1st time celebrating our wedding anniversary in 14 years we have been married. the cabin was very cozy and very home feeling. Bill & Jaxie have a wonderful little place to get away just for a small family or a couple. this was our 1st time renting a Vrbo and the experience was a wonderful. An absolutely magical experience

We spent 4 days / 3 nights at the cabin. It was an amazing experience. The cabin is small but perfect for a couple. The property was very clean, there plenty of were extra linens and towels available, and Bill stopped by the first day to see if there was anything else we needed. The property is absolutely beautiful. The cabin sits on a small pond and a stream with some small Waterfalls. There is a covered bridge that goes over the stream. We had breakfast sitting in the covered bridge while it rained and listening to the stream babbling underneath us. We went for a walk through the adjacent hillside fields and were greeted by a flurry of butterflies swirling around us. Staying here was truly a magical experience and we have already talked about returning.

Beautiful home Excellent for nature walks

This is our 3rd or 4th time staying at Piney Knob Cabin. It is the perfect place for a calm relaxing get away where you can bring your fur baby. We had interesting nature-walks and fishing! My husband enjoyed having a grill. The pup enjoyed the creek! The hot tub was much appreciated after days of walking and fishing. Thanks to our host and his wife for making our time extra extra special with a 'day on the farm' and blueberries! This is a trip that we will never forget. As a precious bonus we have new friends with Mr. and Mrs. E. Thanks for your hospitality!

Quaint and perfect

Place was awesome. Good wifi, clean hot tub, everything working, isolated and exactly what we wanted. 20 mins from Lake Lure, 30 from Chimney Rock... Great place to kickback and enjoy nature and take in the sights.

Great family getaway

My husband, 6-year-old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed this property and the amenities. The cabin was clean and very well stocked with linens, bedding, cleaning supplies, toiletries, kitchen utensils, and the air conditioning worked great. We loved using the hot tub and the fire pit and fishing in the little pond! It Is close to lake lure and other attractions in the area like zip lining and horseback riding. I highly recommend and my family and I will definitely be returning!

Perfect Getaway

This is our second time staying and it was just as amazing, peaceful and perfect as the first time. The owner has everything you could possibly need tucked inside and around the cabin and is a great host. There is plenty of room for our dogs to run, a pond where we spent most of our time catching nice size catfish and the most peaceful creek running through the property. It has become our annual spot to unwind.10 out of 10 Stars
