A quaint, clean, updated, 1940s era bungalow-style cabin. Excellent location to call home base for all of your Black Hills adventures. From the Badlands to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse, Custer State Park to Sturgis, you can see everything within a 30-45 minute drive. Two-minute walk to Canyon Lake and Rapid Creek where you find fishing, kayaking and paddle boat rentals. Connected to Rapid City’s extensive bike and walking paths that include a nature trail, dog park and canyon lake park. Ten-minute drive to downtown Rapid City. Located in a quiet, family-oriented neighborhood, with a fenced back yard. Dog friendly for small fee of $10 per dog. Sleeps 4 adults comfortably, loft available for 1 additional person.

Cabin was very clean and welcoming. This is the 2nd year in a row I have stayed here for Sturgis and Chad and Tara are great hosts. I highly recommend this property:)

This was a wonderful place to land after a long drive. The location was perfect. Easy check-in and check out. Having a fenced backyard was a plus. We had all we needed for a comfortable cozy stay and would definitely stay again if we are ever back to the area. Loved it!

Beautifully clean cabin. We enjoyed great weather while visiting so were able to enjoy the outdoor furniture and our dogs loved the fenced in yard. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was very comfortable and well equipped. I would definitely recommend and stay again. The neighborhood was perfect for walking around with the dogs.

Location of home is a very nice neighborhood with trails starting right across the street. A short walk down the road leads to Canyon Lake/Creek which was a beautiful area. We loved our time exploring the Black Hills each day, so much to do & so much beauty in the area. We really appreciated bringing our dog with. Chad & Tara are very quick to respond if you need anything. Cabin is cute and worked good for my husband, myself and our dog. Thank you, we appreciated our stay!

For us all we needed was a clean, reputable place that accommodated our family of 3 and 2 dogs. It went above and beyond that. The hosts were very attentive and responsive to our needs and questions. The cabin was exactly as we had hoped it to be. We recommend it to any and all who seek a base camp with everything you need.

June Visit

Great place. Very clean and well equipped. It is a small 2BR home - not a 5-star hotel. It was a very nice stay and the owners were very responsive. Loved the ice cream truck down the street (opens at 1:00), and the short hike to the ridge top and large cross above the church - great view of the lake. Also, the walk along the lake was perfect for my early-morning walks.

We had a wonderful time in your beautiful cabin. The accommodations were perfect. It was nice to come home after a long day of exploring to sit and relax with our dogs! There is so much to see, we would love to come back again!

Great dog friendly house

This house was very clean and had a wonderful fenced back yard for my small dog. The location is perfect for all the parks. The local park with trails is a nice 3xtra bonus.

Perfect stay for family of five

This house was clean, comfortable and just large enough for two adults, three young kids and dog. The owners were quick to respond and the check in process was simple. Our plans included hiking in Badlands NP as well as visits to Devil's Tower, Rushmore, Jewel Cave, Crazy Horse and Custer State Park. The location of this home made our travels as convenient as possible.

Perfect for our weekend!

We were in town for Mines Parents' Weekend and this cabin was perfect! My husband enjoyed some fishing right down the street. We were able to move around town easily and quickly. We were close enough to everything we needed and wanted to do! Thank you, again!

Deer would frequently hang out in the neighborhood! Fenced in backyard was easy for letting my dog out! Close to the monument arena for our event!

As always, an outstanding property in all respects!! Tara helped me rent her property at the last minute and was so accommodating!! This home has everything you need for a relaxing enjoyable stay!! Great stay

This was our first attempt at vrbo so we were a little unsure what to expect. The owners were helpful with everything we needed. When we arrived there was a book they put together that explains everything you need to know both in the area and what’s expected from you. That was a great idea and maybe everyone does that I do not know. The cabin was just like the pictures and description said. We had a great stay and would use again. Highly recommend!

A cozy little Rapid City gem

This place was perfect for me and my 79 year old mother who were in town over Thanksgiving visiting family in the area. The cabin had everything we needed (including a washer/dryer combo), and the backyard was perfect for my small dogs. The location is also great as it is close to walking trails and a beautiful lake. Plus all the tourist attractions are just a short drive away. We especially enjoying turning on the gas fireplace while getting organized in the morning. Tara and Chad we super helpful in getting us checked in a bit early. I would have loved to have stayed longer, but we had to get back to "real life". :)

This lovely cabin had everything we needed for our week long stay in Rapid City. Having a full kitchen and washer/dryer was so convenient. The place is well stocked, and comfortable. The weather was pleasant. We never needed the AC but used the fireplace every evening. We really enjoyed grilling one of the rainbow trout we caught in Lake Pactola and relaxing on the covered patio. We also enjoyed watching the deer that ate grass in the front yard most mornings. The trail across the street is a wonderful place for a morning walk and we also walked the paved trails around Canyon Lake. It was a short drive to restaurants and stores. We didn't bring our dog this time but the cabin is perfect for vacationers with a furbaby. The location put us close to both Mount Rushmore and the Badlands. We also visited Custer State Park, the Crazy Horse monument/Museum, Deadwood, Bear Country USA, and the cute little reptile zoo. Rapid City has lots to offer. I got a massage, shopped, and browsed a couple book stores. Check in was easy and Chad and Tara are quick to respond. This little place was just perfect for our trip. We loved it.

We love this small bungalow/cabin. It is in a perfect location to see all that the Black Hills has to offer. Everything is within driving distance and it is a perfect home base. We love the quirkiness and character in this cabin. It has original hardwood floors, and wood accents everywhere.
