Bungalow 1880's with Stunning views of Colorado's fourteeners and pet friendly

This great little turn of the century bungalow has it all. This home has recently been renovated to have all the upgraded amenities while still preserving that classic historical feel.
The home has two bedrooms , one bath and a great well stocked kitchen to prepare meals in. Gas grill is available on the back patio if one feels the urge to cook outside. Please bring your own charcoal for grilling. Please clean up after your pet.

Only a moment's walk away from the lovely historic Twin Lakes INN one can grab a fabulous meal or indulge in a beverage or two.
The General Store is also only a short walk away providing you with all great conveniences.
This home is close to some of the best fishing in the state of Colorado. Choose from the glacial lakes or the Arkansas river. Colorado trail is only a short distance away. Weather you like to run, hike, ski, mountain bike, white water raft, four-wheeling, or fishing this place is a mecca for the outdoor enthusiasts! There is a $25 pet fee. if you plan on grilling, please bring charcoal. Thank you.

In the event of inclement weather (ex: heavy snow, etc.) we will not be able to help with any vehicle issues. We recommend using 4-wheel and All Wheel drive vehicles to get to the property during these times.This location will meet all your needs. License #2026-039

My son and I stayed at this property during our annual father/son weekend. We enjoyed our stay, it's close proximity to "downtown" Twin Lakes and the eclectic decor (lots of antiques) . The house was clean and very well furnished. Communication with owner/mgt company was excellent. However, the Property Highlights clearly states, “ On the beach.” Further, under Property Amenities - Location Type, it states, “ Beachfront, Waterfront, Beach, Lake, Water View, Beach View, Lake View. ” The listing Highlights promote, “On the beach. A rare beachfront property in the area - enjoy direct access to the sand and sea.” In reality, this property is not on the beach, lake, or water. As a matter of fact, you cannot see the water from any part the property whatsoever, although you do have a fantastic view of The Fourteeners. It is approximately a 10 minute walk from the house to the water. Note: I did not complain to the owner, nor did I request any type of refund or adjustment to my bill. Instead, I just enjoyed the time with my son. However, prospective renters have a right to know this property is not on the beach, water, or lake.

Great stay!!

We loved our stay here at Twin Lakes. What a great cabin! We loved the charm, history and little town. We had a great time ice fishing, hanging by the fire, playing games and soaking up the fresh air. We’ll be back for sure this summer! Thanks!

Twin Lakes Retreat

We enjoyed staying at the bungalow for hiking, closeness to town, the General Store and dinner at the Twin Lakes Inn. The house had everything we needed to cook meals and to be comfortable. We love the front porch.

Perfect Location

We stayed in order to access Twin Lakes for ice fishing. The location was stunning and perfect for access to both lakes. The home was very comfortable for my husband and I. We appreciated the King bed and wood stove at the end of the day

Wonderful spot off the beaten track

Had never heard of Twin Lakes before spending the weekend in this delightful space. Wonderful way to meet some new mountains and see an unspoiled bit of Colorado history. Love the front porch in the morning and evening!

Great Cozy House

Lisa had everything we needed and more. The location was walking distance to everything in Twin Lakes. We enjoyed having the recliners in the family room and the cozy kitchen where we prepared several meals.

The village at Twin Lakes grew in popularity once gold was discovered in the area, with commerce centered there for area miners. In the 1860s, the area, then known as Dayton, became the county seat. When gold was discovered on Independence Pass, a toll road was established between Leadville and Aspen, making Twin Lakes the transportation hub between the two towns. After the silver boom in Leadville in 1878 to 1879, Twin Lakes became a popular summer resort, attracting the wealthy. For a more detailed look at Twin Lake’s history, follow this historic walking tour, which highlights some of the town’s original buildings.

Interlaken Resort, located on the south side of Twin Lakes, was considered Colorado’s most beautiful resort in the late 19th century. Built in 1879 and expanded after James V. Dexter bought it in 1883, it had some of the best facilities for the time and was a popular stop for those who traveled to nearby mining towns, like Aspen and Leadville. Guests came to ride horses, fish, hunt, and cruise along the lakes in steam-powered boats. They stayed in the hotel or the hotel annex and relaxed in the tavern or pool hall.
