Welcome to Willow's Retreat, your ultimate getaway in the serene White Mountains of Heber-Overgaard! Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and watch wild horses roam by on our spacious back deck, or forest bathe while listening to the whispering pines on the front deck. Our pet-friendly cabin boasts 3 bedrooms (2 King beds, 1 Queen) and 2 baths, perfect for families, couples, or groups of friends, and is just an easy 2.5-hour drive from Phoenix. Our fenced-in backyard is ideal for dogs to relax in cooler weather and go off-leash.

Experience cooler temperatures in summer and snow in winter at an elevation of 6800ft, with unobstructed south and southeast views for miles. Our quiet cabin is located in Bison Ranch, and backs up to Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. You'll enjoy modern comforts like AC, high-speed WiFi, and streaming TV, along with well-equipped kitchen, gas grill, outdoor dining table, and games for a fun-filled stay.

Now with high-speed StarLink Internet (~150M/bs) for the entire family, you can stay connected to work and enjoy endless entertainment. Our location is family-friendly and perfect for those who love the outdoors, with recreational options such as walking, hiking, fishing, exploring, and shopping nearby. Enjoyed Our Stay

We'd definitely stay here again if we head back to the Heber area. The property was clean and had a nice layout. We brought a 17-month old (very mobile) toddler, and it worked out really well. There was even a few toys and some kids books for him to play with.

Great choice!

We were so comfortable and the house exceeded our expectations in every way. I was great tobe able to walk out the back yard onto the national forest and we saw the wild horses several times. We highly recommend this rental!

Love the Wild Horses!

This is a fantastic property! What really makes it special is that the property backs up to open land where you can see wild horses. We saw them all three days during our stay. Bison Ranch is an adorable neighborhood. The Wild Women Saloon at Bison Ranch has great pizza and a fun atmosphere. We are so glad we stayed here and will probably stay again in the future.

Great location!

I have a lot of friends in the Heber Overgaard area so this house is a perfect location. This is the second time that I have stayed here and I would reserve again!

Great value

Very clean and comfortable. Backs up to forest land we saw wild horses every evening and morning of our stay. The cabin is beautiful.

Beautiful cabin and surroundings! So peaceful sitting on the deck watching the horses room by. Perfect amenities for us and for the pups. They loved the yard and walking trails.

Love this cabin

Beautiful deck with view of the wild horses. Nice fenced yard in back. Cabin is very comfortable and clean with open floor plan. Owners communicated well. Will definitely stay again

So Serene!

My sisters and I enjoyed a few days of relaxing in this wonderful cabin (with all the amenities) that backed up to a beautiful national forest where we sat out on the back porch every morning, drinking our coffee and watching the wild horses come and go! We were in Overgaard visiting family/friends and wished we could have taken more advantage of the cabin peacefulness. We enjoyed near by restaurants and everyone we met was so friendly! The owners were quick to respond to any of our inquiries. We would definitely stay there again!

Spring break

This cabin was a dream for us. It snowed so our visit required our being in doors but we found plenty of places to explore. Wild horses came right to back fence which we all enjoyed watching. Anxious to return this summer for fishing and horseback rides. A+ for this location

Amazing Cabin

We had a comfortable stay, we found everything we need in this Cabin, truly a home away from home. No dull moments it has games and puzzles to keep us entertained. We enjoyed the foosball games. The sightings of horses at the backyard was amazing. We stayed an extra 1 more night due to winter storm but end up to be the best vacation we ever have enjoying the snow falls. We had a great experience in this Cabin,all the memories that we will remember the rest of our lives.

So Clean!

I appreciate a nice clean rental home and do my best to keep it that way. It felt just like home. Lots of spices to use for cooking and well equipped kitchen. I loved the magnifying makeup mirror and beautiful shower in the master bath. Our grandkids loved the foosball table and games. We saw so many horses and even a few cattle. Unfortunately it was incredibly windy the days we were there so we couldn't sit on the huge back porch for very long. The large picture window in the living room made for perfect indoor horse watching. We have friends in Heber who brought us some fishing poles so we tried our luck at the catch and release pond. No fish but the kids enjoyed the playground. We hope to return.

Summer 2023

This is an A+ property, we have rented this property 4 times and have never been disappointed. This year we even got to experience a full on cattle drive with cowboys right behind the property. I can't even say enough good things about the owners on how they make you feel special and respond very quickly to any messages. We are looking forward to our next trip. Debbie & Bill

Absolute Gem

We absolutely loved this cabin! The home was so clean and truly felt like “home away from home” for our kids. The hosts thought of pretty much anything you could need (from the kitchen to the bathrooms). The patio was one of our favorite spots. So peaceful! And seeing the Heber horses was such a special treat for our horse loving daughter. Our son spent hours fishing and bug catching. It truly was such a special trip for our entire family!

Best view in the area

We were very pleased with the home. It is true, there are really wild horses wandering beyond the fence line! We stayed here for several days and saw the horses every day. My favorite part was sitting on the back deck, it was incredibly peaceful, no noise but nature. It was nicely equipped with pots and pans for cooking. The beds were comfortable and the open floor plan made it feel spacious enough for our family. We had a little incident away from the home and were grateful to even find a small first aid kit. Thank you for a wonderful and relaxing stay!

Wild horses and afternoon thunderstorms--sheer delight!

Property is as advertised. Cabin faces a private street. Back of cabin faces wide open land. The back porch runs the length of cabin and would accommodate your entire party for relaxing and meals and has both lighting and fans. Interior of cabin is nicely decorated. Dining table with four chairs with two stools at kitchen bar area. Seating in living room is a large sectional couch and a separate chair. Kitchen is fully stocked and there is a separate pantry. Neighborhood consists of private cabins and is very quiet. There are more than a few local restraunts but be aware they tend to close by 8 pm (or earlier in the case of some of the diners) and they have differing days off during the week. Welcome book on the kitchen counter is very helpful. There is great hiking within a 20-minute drive of the cabin. However, there are several hikes available within a five-minute drive of the cabin at the Tall Timbers Park. Highly recommend those hikes to those seeking a more lightweight pleasurable hike.

We live in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. Both of us are originally from the Chicago, Illinois area. Marc lived in San Diego, California for 17 years. Eve has lived in Phoenix for about the same amount of time. We both travel a lot for work and pleasure and love exploring new cities and unique neighborhoods.
