Come to the magnificent Mendocino Coast, enjoy the cool Ocean breezes in the Summer months, cozy peaceful Fall and Winter… and gorgeous Spring! This beautiful magical cottage has been lovingly restored and renovated to reflect the natural beauty of the property. Majestic redwoods, rhododendrons, fuchsias, camilla trees and exotic Japanese Maples grace the completely fenced in yard. Please note: The cottage shares garden spaces and fenced area with the main house, Luna, which is where we (Owner) live. As a Guest, you have full and complete Privacy and run of ALL garden areas and spaces while you are here...that includes your fur-baby(s)!

Your PRIVACY is our main priority...

Sit on the deck and enjoy morning tea or coffee (complimentary variety of organic teas and coffee), or an evening glass of wine, also included is a Complimentary Bottle of wine from a local winery! The hot tub is always available for soaking away all of life’s stresses…!

Star gazing at night...and the magical fairy lights in the garden!

This property is truly a sanctuary getaway, respite from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life! Enjoy the peace and serenity of living in the heart of nature.

Marvel at all the beautiful repurposed old growth redwood that graces the pergola, window sills, door casings and frames the stained glass windows created by a local artisan and friend, Tangerine Steinbrecher - Atmospheric Glass. Kitchen cabinetry custom made by a local woodworker and teacher at the Kernov Fine Woodworking School in Fort Bragg - Greg Smith. You will certainly feel all the love and energy that went into revitalizing this magical little cottage!

Wonderful Stay in Mendocino

My wife and I loved this property and had a wonderful stay. It was a great location and the cottage was furnished beautifully. I can’t recommend it enough.

Excellent stay

This is a lovely property,close to Mendocino but enough away from town to be really quiet. The owner was wonderful to work with. She was helpful without being at all intrusive. We hope to stay there again soon.

Beautiful environment

Beautiful environment and the cottage is up to date and well appointed. We did not use the hot tub. Very close to Mendocino, which is perfect. Bed extremely comfortable. Recommend it highly to Mendocino visitors.

Re - Holiday Stay.

Beautiful property with great yard our pup. The hot tub was fabulous. Perfect temp. Cottage was cozy with nice bathroom. Good layout. Janet was terrific. Would stay here again.

Memorable thanksgiving with family ❤️

We as a family had such a cozy and comfortable thanksgiving break at the Magical Fairy Cottage. We loved as to how close it was to everything like restaurants, beach, state parks, lighthouse and other tourist attractions. Our toddler loved the cottage and didn’t want to leave. Couldn’t help but fall in love with all the surrounding trees and nature. The magical fairy lights were absolutely whimsical. Also, Janet was such a wonderful host. She was so helpful and promptly answered any and all of our questions right from the time of booking until the end of our stay. We will definitely love to stay at the Magical Fairy Cottage again should we visit Mendocino in the near future.

Enjoyable stay in cute country retreat

The cottage is attractively appointed with modern appliances and light fixtures, good shower, nice bedding, and strong WIFI. Greeted with a nice bottle of wine and a magical night time light show in the yard. Would be even better with more comfortable furniture and a firmer mattress.

This is a very peaceful and beautiful space. Janet is very welcoming and gives you plenty of privacy. The hot tub is a nice bonus. The garden gets wonderful light. Very plush bed, well equipped kitchen. Great location just minutes from Mendocino village. It's a truly unique space with attention to detail. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Simply perfect

Perfect location perfect host perfect cottage. Janet is the most wonderful Host and the cottage is so cozy. She was available to answer all questions and the location is perfect to just about anything near by. While the property is pet friendly Janet was extra tolerant of our very curious (and sometimes intrusive) puppy! We hope to be back.

Peaceful, Relaxing, Stay in the Country

The Guest House was Artistically decorated. Everything we needed for an enjoyable weekend was provided. Also, the grounds were beautifully landscaped. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub under the stars and trees. There was a light that projected lazier like bits of light on the tall trees that really set a great mood. Janet was very helpful with info for our stay and also gave us our privacy.

Special cottage

This cottage is separate from the home of the owner but shares the lovely, tranquil garden. The owner is very helpful and responsive but never intrusive. We enjoyed every facet of the cottage and appreciated some of the little details that Janet made, one being the subtle green lights all over the large, beautiful redwood trees outside that went on in the evening. We would definately stay there again.

Echo Cottage is a Wonderful Getaway.

We traveled to Mendocino with our 2 dogs for a long weekend to escape the Sacramento heat. Echo Cottage is a beautiful, peaceful cottage that is delightfully decorated, comfortable and uses its space efficiently. We felt so at home there. We enjoyed the porch mornings and evenings and we made our simple breakfasts and dinners in the cottage’s kitchen. The bathroom was roomy and the bedroom was quiet and the bed comfy. Our pets were allowed the run of the fenced yard. Janet is a very gracious host. We would certainly visit again.

Thanksgiving stay

Very cute cottage. My parents and I enjoyed our time here over thanksgiving break. It was perfect for the shorter days with a small fireplace to boot. Everything was very clean and the yard is special. Kitchen is designed for light cooking. Property manager is onsite - this is a good thing because we would have needed guidance if the rain had disconnected power. We really didn’t cross paths except for a warm welcome when we arrived and an equally warm sendoff. Top notch hospitality. Towels, dishes, coffee, tea, everything was provided. Best of all, the bedding was especially comfortable.

Immaculate Cottage With Much Attention to Quality Details

The setting was beautiful for this guest cottage with an artsy flair among beautiful big redwood trees. The wood craftmanship inside and out was amazing. The fenced in jacuzzi was very nice and private. A bonus for the kids was reliable wifi. We had so many fun adventures with very little driving involved like viewing beautiful sea cliffs, hiking to a waterfall, treasure hunting for sea glass and riding the Skunk Train. It was just a few minutes down the street to the picturesque seaside “village” (downtown Mendocino). It had many shops to stroll filled with a variety of beautiful arts and crafts plus restaurants. It was a perfect fit for our family of four.

Mendocino cottage

If you are looking for a stylishly appointed cozy, pet friendly house nestled in the redwoods just about 1 mile from downtown Mendocino, look no further. The location is as peaceful as they come. The backyard is beautifully landscaped and completely secured. Although we didn’t use it this time, there is a hot tub. The house has a smallish kitchen, and a bathroom with an absolutely wonderful shower. We recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting the Mendocino north coast. It is just 9 miles from Fort Bragg and close to other exciting locations and adventures along the north coast. Besides exploring the many treasures of Mendocino, don’t miss Noyo Harbor and a walk on Big River and Navarro River to name just a few. We will definitely go back to Echo Cottage. Relax to the Max

We're so happy to have discovered Echo Cottage where we recently enjoyed a relaxing three-night anniversary celebration with our two Boston Terriers. The details provided at the time of booking checked off all of the elements we were seeking for our family getaway, including the security of a fully fenced yard where our two fur boys could adventure their way safely throughout the lovely garden. We were enchanted by the many artful, and at times whimsical, garden areas, including the magical array of softly colored twinkling lights at night. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the welcoming spirit of Kwan Yuen, beautifully standing tall in the foreground of the massive trunk of a majestically towering coast redwood tree. The pathway to the cottage was alluring as we passed by the main house and saw the warm lights of Echo Cottage greeting us ahead. We settled in readily, easily finding everything needed for our lovely stay. The kitchenette was thoughtfully stocked with excellent quality goods and provided everything needed for a comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed the artwork chosen to enhance the beautifully crafted architectural interior. The only suggestion we might offer would be for a thicker and more comfortable cushion for the beautifully carved sofa bench. We so loved our stay at Echo Cottage so much that we're already planning a repeat visit in a few months!

Tranquil, relaxing and rejuvenating get-away

My friend and I had the most rewarding and relaxing 5 day retreat into the gorgeous Redwoods and garden oasis of this delightful and comfortably roomy cottage just 1 minute drive from the lovely town of Mendocino. Our host Janet enhanced our stay with her warm touches, kind heart and generous thoughts and positive energy! Bed was comfortable, bathroom has a nice floor heater and great shower situation, and the fireplace was a nice addition to relaxing evenings, as well as the hot tub amidst the beautiful garden and redwood trees. We had everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking our meals, and the coffee and tea and wine provided by Janet was greatly appreciated. We will 'hands-down' stay here again on future Mendocino get-aways when we are looking for calm, meditative relaxation and communion with nature and being Present in the day's special moments. :-) Thank you for everything Janet!! ~ Chris

Charming small cottage very near trails

The place was very nice, clean and wonderful. The host was very polite and accommodating. Also, very close to the house, there are many trails to hike in Jackson Demonstration forest.
