Glenwood Pond Cottage is a spacious, comfortable woodland retreat for exploring Mount Desert Island, with room for six guests, three bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and a bright enclosed sun porch overlooking the surrounding forest.
We are tucked into the woods on a quiet private road, offering a peaceful setting while keeping you close to everything that makes Mount Desert Island special. The entrance to Acadia National Park is just 4.7 miles away, and downtown Bar Harbor is approximately 6 miles from the cottage.
The home's central location makes it easy to explore both sides of the island. Spend the day hiking in Acadia, visiting Bar Harbor, exploring the coastal villages of Northeast Harbor and Southwest Harbor, or simply enjoying the quiet of the surrounding woods.
The cottage comfortably sleeps up to six guests with three upstairs bedrooms and three full bathrooms, making it especially well suited to families or groups traveling together.

Everything thing was clean and comfortable. Worked directly with VRBO and received quick responses. This was a great spot for visiting Barr Harbor, everything was close and it was very private.

Great open home concept that was excellent for kids! The location is great! It was nice and quiet with quick 10 minute access to Bar Harbor and drive to anywhere else on the island is super easy and relatively short. There is also a small bay 5 minutes away that wasn’t busy and great for the kids! The stairs are super squeaky just fyi and the little pond is a bit farther than the description indicates. Other than that it was a great place to stay, basic amenities but we loved it and would stay again.

Amazing house and location! Wonderful woods surrounding a home spacious enough to have a hang day when its a vit rainy out. Super clean and welcoming, quick to Acadia or walk to a local pond. Great kitchen and dinning area, and the enclosed porch is a gidden gem.

The home was beautiful, clean and well taken care of. It is in a great location for Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.The host was great. She provided us with 2 fabulous blueberry pies because the dryer wasn't working when we got there. It was fixed as soon as they could get the parts, so it was no inconvenience for us. However we sure did enjoy those pies. She was able to answer all our questions about the area and provided us with any information we needed. We would definitely recommend this home and host.

Wonderful home on quiet street. Very clean with all the amenities you would need. Great location close to Acadia and other attractions. Spacious bedrooms and kid friendly! Would highly recommend and plan to stay here again in the future!

Quiet and peaceful stay
We really enjoyed our time in the Acadia area and found the house to be a great fit for our family. It had everything we needed and was located in a quiet and peaceful area.

Very nice, very clean house. The location was perfect and nicely tucked away in the woods. Since we were here the week leading up to July 4th, we had to endure the unexpected heatwave, so not having AC in the house was disappointing. I didn't realize it was somewhat normal to not have it, so I didn't even think to check for it. The couches seemed heavily worn and there was no sneaking up and down the stairs but, all in all, it was a nice stay.

We appreciate your feedback about the heat during your stay. Like many traditional Maine homes, Glenwood Pond does not have air conditioning, and we do clearly note that in the listing. Most of the season, the screened windows, fans, and cool evening temperatures help keep the home comfortable, but your visit happened to fall during an unusually intense heat wave, with some of the hottest temperatures of the summer, which certainly made things more challenging.
We’re grateful for your understanding and are always happy to provide as much information as possible so guests can choose the home that best fits their needs. Thank you again for staying with us, and we’re glad that overall you had an enjoyable visit to MDI.

This property is wonderful - it has all the amenities and is centrally located. The owner is very responsive to any questions that we had. We have stayed here three times and plan to stay here next year as well.

Great family stay
Nice, secluded area but still close to town and the park. The house was comfortable for 4 adults and 2 kids, and had everything we needed. We had a wonderful trip and would definitely stay again!

Our stay was amazing! Spacious house, private lot, quiet area but still close to everything!! It was nice having washer and dryer, 3 bedrooms with queen beds and 3 bathrooms with a crowd of 6 adults. Also has a huge sunporch ! Host was very responsive to messages 10/10 recommend! We’d definitely stay here again!

Great house to stay in
This was a great house to stay in. It was clean and comfortable. It is a nice short scenic drive from Bar Harbor and Acadia which was convenient. We would stay here again if we plan another trip to Maine.

Perfect spot
This house was a perfect location for exploring different parts of Acadia/Mount Desert Island. So glad our family of 5 stayed here (rather than trying to squeeze into hotel rooms in Bar Harbor). Clean/comfortable/spacious house and helpful hosts!

It was great
The house was beautiful. I loved the location. It was quiet and peaceful, but close to town where everything was going on. We could have stayed longer. The host and owner were great for anything we needed. Would definitely stay again

This property is very nice. We were in the area to hike in Acadia National Park, and the location was excellent for this purpose. Nice big bathrooms and very easy check in.
