Enjoyed our stay at the lake, the home was clean with a dock that was easy enough to access when our family came by water to visit in their various water vehicles.

Brooks Lake Cottage

Very clean cottage. Very sturdy nice dock.Plenty of pots and pans to cook your own meals. Our family and smaller dog had a great stay.

Awesome Vacation

This is by far the cleanest, well-maintained property that we have had the opportunity to stay at. The property and the amenities were exactly as described and exceeded our expectations. Jerry and Maryam were extremely hospitable and caring. We enjoyed our time so much that we plan to return next year.

Awesome property....great house super clean and has everything you could possibly need. Host was fantastic even offers you a tour of the lake on his pontoon boat and is available for any questions or issues while you are there.

Very well equipped!

Lovely property and a cozy, clean cottage with a nice big kitchen and the comfort of 2 bathrooms. Very quiet neighborhood and lake. It looks like they thought of everything in terms of outdoor activities!

Perfect getaway

Loved this cottage! Immaculate with all the comforts of home. Great Wi-Fi if you need to do a little work while you’re on vacation. Fishing was good although we had a bit of a cold spell which affected it a bit. Close to town so easy access to grocery, restaurants, etc. Definitely recommend!

Lake Effect

We just returned from yet another stay at this cottage and again we had a wonderful time. The weather was great and the fish were biting and it was so peaceful and relaxing. As always the cottage was AAA clean and very comfortable (especially the new recliner they added this year). if you are looking for a cottage that is your home away from home with all the bells and whistles this is the one for you, you won't be disappointed. Thanks again for sharing your place with us. We'll be back again and again.

We believe in providing an excellent retreat for people who want to relax near the waterfront in a super clean and modern environment. Our clients often express surprise when they first see the cottage and consistently comment "This is the nicest cottage we have ever seen!" or "The pictures do not do justice to this cottage!". Of course, we are proud of that. We welcome an exclusive type of visitor . . . those that place a high premium on quality and respect our property by keeping it pristine. Lilac Cottage

We stayed for the week of the 4th of July. This is a very beautiful setting to look over the lake from the patio area. We were able to see fireworks and, on one stormy evening, lightening approaching from the west. Great fire pit to sit by the lake, too. The cottage sits on a small hill that slopes down to the water, I have a very bad knee that needs replacing and I did not have a problem (anymore than usual) with walking from the lake to the house. The home is well laid out to separate the sleeping area from the living area with plenty of room to spread out. My husband and son were able to catch some bass, pike and catfish (we took our 17 foot deck boat). A wonderful, peaceful week of rest....exactly what we needed. Jerry was a wonderful host and we look forward to our next visit to this beautiful home!

Jerry is an excellent host, truly could not be more accommodating. He let us use 3 bikes, helmets, pontoon paddle boat, fire wood and fishing gear had we wanted it. Even took us on a tour of the lake in his pontoon. House was in perfect shape and is very well laid out, perfect for our family of 4 and dog. We left an oven mitt for the next guests as it was the only thing we couldnt find. The lake is beautiful and peaceful.One thing for future guests, out on the lake we had no problems with bugs. But walking around the area, especially some of the nearby streets, the gnats that like your eyes and nose are swarming nonstop. Bring tight fitting glasses and dont bother with DEET, they are immune. Try picardin based repellants, even high concentrations of deet do nothing.The neighborhood is great for casual biking and boating. Very quiet area on weekdays and peaceful setting for some much needed R&R

7/15-7/20/2023 Retirees

The cottage was cute. It is simple and nothing fancy. It has all old furniture and coffee pot and dishes. The bed was very comfortable. It does have water toys like rowboat,kayaks, paddleboat but they are old and heavy to use. They are not modern and lite weight. They are not tied up to dock when you arrive. You have to figure it out and I did find a little string in garage to use on paddle boat not enough for anything else. You would have to drag it back and forth to the shore as you use these items. Beach is small and doesn’t go right into the water. You have to step down on a brick. It is wooded but does get plenty of sun. Lots of beach chairs to relax in. If you are older the hill is steep going down to the water. Newaygo is a cute town and the Riverfront park is amazing. You can tube,kayak, swim or fish there. Tiny’s ice cream was great. Everything was dog friendly. We took our golden doodle with us everywhere. The Silver Lake dunes on Lake Michigan were amazing. The lighthouse was great. There is plenty of wineries to go to. We went to Poor Michigan Wine Bar. It was good. The cottage was relaxing and they have Swans on Brooks Lake. Beautiful views! My husband fished and caught lg. mouth bass. Jerry is kind and meets you with keys for the place when you arrive. Thanks for a relaxing place to relax.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review for our cottage and we are very pleased that you enjoyed the area. As a point of clarification … the dinnerware is mismatched (deliberately) and the same is true for other kitchen supplies. It was a judgment call on “style” because we felt it provided the right atmosphere for a "cottage". Some of the boats are old and some are not and all are of good quality. We agree with your perception, but wanted you to know it was a “planned ambiance”. The electronics, beds, etc. are quite new and high quality. We want our guests to be comfortable. Again, many thanks for your feedback. We always consider that to be helpful. May the rest of your summer be enjoyable.

Very clean, lovely cottage in a pretty location

The cottage was pristine and had every amenity you could want. We had a few glitches that were quickly worked out with the property manager. My only suggestion would be that the mattresses were uncomfortable. If you have any joint issues or back problems this may not be the right rental for you.

Charming Get-Away

Jerry was a fantastic host and this little cottage was everything we needed for a family get-away. Clean, comfortable with a complete kitchen. Paddle boat and pool noodles were great fun on the lake. I took a lovely peaceful walk every morning around part of the lake to see all the cute cottages and enjoyed the forest, too. As a light sleeper, the house water pump woke me up a couple times but the beds were comfortable and vacation naps are great. I loved the steps down to the lake and s’mores at the fire pit. Comfy recliners, books and HBO were great for downtime, too. Lovely place!

Cozy & relaxing!!

This was a wonderful choice for a week long getaway. Beautiful view, every amenity you could ask for. Jerry is a wonderful host. We had a few accommodations we had to make due to a family member’s illness, and Jerry was very kind & helpful. The home is spotless, comfortable & inviting. We highly recommend this home!!
