Beautiful and very clean 2000 vacation home located on the Chain o Lakes in Antrim county between traverse city and Charlevoix in the town of Central Lake . Just minutes away from Bellaire and all it’s shops and restaurants including SHORTS BREWERY. Benway lake is a 130 acre all sports lake with great fishing and ideal for water skiing and wake boarding . You will find that typically there just are not any boats on the lake ! Total of 6 lakes all connect including 11,000 acre Intermediate Lake. This is a year round vacation home that welcomes downhill skiers , (1/2 hour from Schuss and BOYNE Mountain) cross country skiers , hunters , snow mobilers , golfers , fishermen , boaters , mountain bikes /road bikes and people looking for a secluded peaceful getaway in Michigan’s North Western rolling hills. Our 4 person Jacuzzi hot tub is located on the covered back porch and is open all year for guests to enjoy. The cottage has three bedrooms and two full baths. Master bedroom is a loft with cathedral ceiling , two ceiling fans , master bath is equipped with a lovely whirlpool jetted tub. This home features a beautiful stone fire place, full kitchen with dishwasher , laundry room with washer , dryer and laundry tub, cable internet with Wifi. This beautiful vacation home has a 50 foot long dock ,a large deck next to the lake and a wooden pathway through the woods to the lake. 2 Kayaks , 1 canoe, BBQ grill, DVD Blu ray , flat screen . It is close to golf courses , 2 major snow mobile trails, Jordan Valley snow and ski trail and also close to Boyne Mountain and Shanty Creek . Grass river natural area, Charlevoix paved bike path and Glacier Hills hiking trails. This is the place that singers write songs about !

We had a great stay, everything was accurate on the listing. We used the hot tub almost every night, which was a great perk, and made use of the kayaks and canoe too. Overall everything was perfect for our family of 4 and the kitchen was stocked nicely too- we cooked dinner in almost every night

Everything went very smoothly with check-in and check out, and we really enjoyed our stay! Being right on the lake was wonderful and we were able to use the kayaks and canoes. While the cottage doesn’t have AC, once you open the windows and turn on some fans it was completely fine! I would definitely choose to come here again.

We had an amazing weekend at this property! This has been our favorite VRBO rental ever booked! Extremely clean, cozy, and the hot tub was a big bonus! We plan to book many stays in future! Absolutely an amazing weekend getaway!

Nice House, Great Location

We had a very nice stay in this clean, cozy house. It is in a great location to go to Charlevoix, East Jordan, many restaurants, ski resorts, wineries, breweries, and the quaint town of Central Lake.

Winter Weekend Getaway

My partner and I stayed here for a weekend in between Christmas and New Years and it was lovely! The cottage is very close by the Charlevoix and other towns. We had a ton of fun exploring during the day and then coming back in the evenings to relax by the fireplace and in the hot tub.

Not awful but not great

The first issue we had was the bunk bed safety. My 7 year old climbed to the top upon arrival and the railing was not attached and he went right over landing on his head. Thankfully he wasn't injured. If you plan to swim here off shore it's weedy and mucky. The refrigerator and coffee pot were pretty gross too. To add a very cloudy hot tub

Wonderful winter getaway

The Cottage was cute, clean, and cozy. The hot tub was heavenly. Centrally located to Boyne, Traverse City, Charlevoix, and Petosky. Perfect for a cozy winter weekend.

Great wintertime visit

We stayed at the cottage for 3 nights. We completely enjoyed our visit. The cottage was clean, had what we needed and the hot tub was amazing! We enjoyed watching it snow and enjoying winter weather while relaxing . We would definitely love to stay here again.

Cozy Winter Getaway

Eric’s cottage was a perfect getaway for what we needed. The hot tub was awesome! Close to multiple towns. Spent a day in TC and a day in Charlevoix and Bellaire all within 30-60 minute drive.

Cute and homey

Really a wonderful experience, we felt ‘at home’ immediately. We went skiing, then warmed up in the hot tub and tucked in for a nice night. Everything was provided and within east reach.

Nice Place.. But don’t stay if have a wasp allergy

Nice place and nice powerful hot tub. Had no trouble holding temp in 30 degree weather. Convenient to Shanty creek and cross country trails. The only issue is the wasps. There were a few dead ones on floor when we arrived. Once we turned up heat a couple live ones emerged. They continued to do so over next couple days and were falling from ceiling of loft (as they did not have much energy). Owner says he didn’t know about wasps in the winter and is having an exterminator come out. But they do at least know that they are around and they mention that they treat for them in house instructions. Also the light on porch is filled with dead ones. If you are allergic I wouldn’t chance it. I would have given a higher rating if the owner had voluntarily offered something close to a free night. They did give me $50 off but only after I asked. Seems a little cheap if you ask me.

Very nice rental, nice place to visit!

We had a very nice weekend get away. There were 6 of us, plenty of room, nice lake with canoe and kayaking! Enjoyed the fire pit at night and the beautiful sunsets! The area around the lake was fun traveling to. We did have a problem with bald headed wasp. One of the party was stung with a wasp while sleeping and had a severe anaphylactic reaction to it. So we spent a few hours in the emergency room at 2:00 am! A suggestion would be to post urgent care, emergency room address on the refrigerator for easy access. Hopefully no one will require it, but it would have saved several critical minutes if there was easy access to the information. Not sure where the wasp came from, we didn’t find a hive, could have been in the eves or the attic., since it was in the loft bedroom where they were stung. We wanted to use the propane grill, but unfortunately there was no propane for it. The washing and drying of towels, sheets took a lot longer than anticipated, normally at any other rental we have been to, as long as you pile the towels and sheets in the laundry room and start a load, you can leave. We waited several hours for the towels to dry, before we could leave. Other than a few quirks, we did like the rental and the area!

The location of the cabin on Benway Lake was exactly as described, and it was wonderful: peaceful, private, few boats, and easily traversed with the canoe provided (we didn’t use the kayaks). Although our stay was late in the season, I managed to catch a few small bass and bluegills on my fly rod. The host was very responsive, and provided an extremely detailed instruction and information packet prior to our arrival. The cabin itself was a little snug but reasonably well stocked with appropriate vacation “staples”, such as kitchen utensils, towels, games, TV/WiFi, etc. My wife, who has some chemical sensitivities, struggled a bit with the mustiness of the cabin, and we both had trouble sleeping in the older beds; however, the couch was comfortable, and we were lucky enough to enjoy some nice weather during our stay (i.e. we spent our days outside rather than inside). Although the cabin was what I would call “cottage cleaned” upon our arrival, I did have to remove a significant amount of the summer season’s grilling spillage out of the outdoor grill before I could even get it to light, and my wife had to clean out the refrigerator before she would put any of our groceries into it. All in all, though, a cozy place to enjoy a nice spot on a Michigan lake.

This stay provided everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We found the fire pit ready to light, and had asked for the hot tub to be ready for us on arrival. All was well prepared. Kitchen was well stocked. The property was questionable and quiet. Many extras provided- grill, canoe, kayaks. We will be back to this one!

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely house! It was just right four our family of four plus a grandparent. The location is excellent with views of the lake front the house. The path down to the lake is well maintained, and the dock was beautiful. Kayaks and canoe were a big plus - we loved exploring the lake and the rivers! The house had everything we needed for our week stay. It was an easy drive to Torch Lake and Lake Michigan. We would recommend staying here and enjoying everything this part of Michigan has to offer.

The rental was exactly what was described in their description. We live on a lake, but Benway is a world away from what we experience at home. The lake is peaceful and beautiful with very little traffic. We loved our time so much that we booked a week next year before we even left.
