Tortuga Suite (Sleeps 2). Queen bed and Mayan decorations that make you feel you are right in the middle of Mexico while enjoying the luxuries of a relaxing vacation. The room opens to the pool, garden and BBQ area. It offers a private bathroom,AC, wifi, private lock, and private entrance, mini refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. It is the perfect place to relax and within walking distance to the beach and great restaurants.

La Hacienda provides a unique Mexican get-away, located one mile from downtown and the most popular beach, Playa Norte. Enjoy the luscious tropical garden and pool. Most people get around via bicycles, taxis or golf carts. The house is located at the beginning of the safe and charming neighborhood, Salina Chica, where you will find many restaurants, tennis court, basketball court, and grocery stores with fresh fruits and vegetables, all within walking distance. You can catch a taxi right in front of the house to go downtown and to the beach. The house is very private, yet just a 5 minute taxi ride from downtown where you will find all the shops, restaurants, bars and live music.

WE had the best time!

We stayed at the Hacienda for my husband's birthday weekend. The location was wonderful and our Host was extremely helpful with restaurants and happenings on the island. We will definitely stay here again.

Karen is a super sweet Host. Always quick to respond, and lives onsite incase you need anything. Her dogs are cute, friendly and welcoming!! The room is small but nice, and is all you need for your Island stay. Location is perfect! There is a nice, small pool if you want to relax there.

Great spot!

Karen and the pups greeted us when we arrived! Always a pleasant stay. Nice and cold ac, room perfect for me and my husband. We have now stayed twice and nothing but good times!

Beautiful spot

Everything was perfect for my stay, bars and restaurants within walking distance. Karen the host is very helpful with any question you may have. I will definitely book again in the future!

Great stay

We had a great stay at La Hacienda. Lovely room and very peaceful. It's a little away from Playa Norte but easy enough to get a taxi for 100 pesos to and from beach. The place itself is beautifully kept - we spent the middle of the day by the pool (which was very clean) to escape the hottest part of the day.

Peaceful local neighborhood

We really enjoyed our stay here. Karen is friendly and just the right amount of contact. Loved the dogs, the pool, and the whole vibe. Good for travelers who are looking for an experience in a local neighborhood with an easy taxi ride to the hubbub and swimming beach. Loved our stay!

Perfect place in Paradise

Karen was so awesome with all our needs. The location was great! So close to everything. And having her dogs there made it fell like home We will definitely be back again! Thank you Karen for making our stay wonderful ❤️

Wonderful room

We had a wonderful stay, the property was centrally located… just a 10 minute taxi ride just about anywhere you wanted to go The neighborhood is a working neighborhood with a few restaurants, not touristy at all. We always felt safe. Wonderful little courtyard that really made you feel like you were getting away from it all. We would definitely stay again.

We loved our stay at Karen’s place! La hacienda was a serene retreat in a bustling part of Isla Mejures. She has beautiful and well maintained outdoor spaces. Even though the house is located in a busy part of town, you wouldn’t know it while by the pool. We woke up to the sound of birds chirping each morning and loved the tropical garden.

Wonderful Value

I am not a resort guy and was looking for something reasonably priced and a neighborhood location to get a local feel. This was the place for that. Karen was awesome and helpful before and during the trip, answering all of my questions.

Very clean priced right.

Karen our host was always around to answer any questions. Bikes were provided if needed. Clean beach towels daily as we went to the beach several times. We would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Charming and perfect

We LOVED this property! My daughter spent every night at the pool which was literally 5 steps from our front door. Karen was phenomenal and very accommodating. Anything we needed or requested she made happen. She was a great resource for food and activities and was open to texts and questions throughout our entire stay.if you want a vacation that feels authentic then this is the place for you!

Great place to stay

We did not want to stay in the middle of all the hustle so this location worked for us. Karen is an awesome host - easy to reach and very gracious to answer questions or make recommendations when we asked. She gave us several tips that ended up being highlights. Bus pickup/schedule was a little unreliable the week we were there but they did always eventually come around. Easy to find great places to walk for dinner. Grocery store and small convenience shops nearby. Would stay again.

I am Texas born and bred with Austin having been my home for the past 30 years. I grew up in a small town in East Texas where my family has a ranch. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University and St. Edwards University. I was a therapist for children in foster care, owner of grocery stores for low income women, and flipped houses. I've always been an entrepreneur and was excited about a new challenge.

My first remarkable visit to Isla Mujeres was 25 years ago and I fell in love with the magic of the Island of Women. Relaxation washed over me as I stepped onto the ferry transporting me to this Caribbean paradise. I knew immediately that one day this island, that is steeped in a rich Mexican culture, would become my home. After many years, research and visits, in November 2016, I discovered the perfect home in the colonia Salina Chica. I knew La Hacienda would make a lovely beautique hotel, offering serenity and privacy for my guests along with space for me and my 2 standard poodles to live. I fell in love as soon as I walked in the front door. The same feeling I had on the first ferry ride 25 years ago.

My wish is to share with you the beauty and tranquility of La Hacienda on Isla Mujeres. Please visit us soon.
