Large Family Fun on Beautiful Bass Lake

You have the best of both worlds with this Sweet Retreat, nestled on peaceful all sports Bass Lake with a boat launch to Green Lake right down the road. We also offer a 10% discount on a 7 day rental. The cabin sits on four wooded roaming acres, 200 feet of waterfront with beautiful wildlife. This 2300 square foot home has five bedrooms and two full bathrooms. There is an open floor plan that consists of a spacious living room and full kitchen. An open concept living room with windows covering the entire front of the house for spectacular views of the lake. A patio large enough for your entertainment with table, chairs, a gas assist charcoal grill and reclining lawn chairs to relax in, while you enjoy the sights and sounds of the multi colored fountain in the pond. A (Seasonal) fifty foot dock is in the water, 4 kayaks and 2 paddle boards with adult life jackets are available for your summer fun. Bass Lake is a smaller spring fed all sports lake with lots of fishing and skiing. The gradual sloping sandy lake bottom is perfect for little ones to swim in. Come and enjoy our sandy beach!!

Great place to stay!

Amazing taste of Upper Michigan

This house was perfect for the 7 of us. We loved fishing and boating in the lake. We loved doing our workouts in the out building. Very clean, close enough to stores and restaurants. Great time for our family.

Family vacation in Michigan

This property was awesome, to quote my 8 yr old grandson. We had a bed for each of us. Outdoor activities were wonderful. The great room was very spacious & we could all (10) sit at the table for meals. We made some good memories.

Great Vacation Home!

This home is in a wonderful location. It is quiet and very private with lovely outdoor space and a great beach area for swimming. It was a perfect fit for our family of 5 and I would definitely stay here again. The owners were very responsive and helpful. 5 stars all the way!

The Best!

This property was amazing! The house had everything we needed. Well stocked, clean, comfortable and beautiful inside and out! Enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboards, the firepit and the beach. The owners were super! We hope to visit again! Thank you, Gail, for a wonderful family vacation!

Perfect family lake vacation

Having had other lake vacations in Minnesota and Wisconsin, this was the 1st one in Michigan. While we loved hiking at Sleeping Bears dunes and some great meals out, the real highlights were quality time as a family at this beautiful home including meals together, boating, fishing, s’mores around the campfire, family games, and much laughter and stories. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a great family vacation at the lake! Roger and Gail were so gracious in letting us use everything at the house during our stay.

We love Sweet Retreat

We love staying here. This is our 2nd year we spent a week. It is beautiful and fully stocked with all the you will need. The location is close to whatever activities you are looking for. Our boys caught fish off of the dock and learned how to kayak with the equipment that is provided. Great place for a family get together.

Even Better than expected

This is a great spacious property with awesome features. We were in town for a Wedding and we were able to fit many people comfortably that were traveling in from all over the globe. I would highly recommend this property.

Memories Made!

Sweet Retreat is a delight! The house is very nice and better than the pictures! We did have a slight issue with the upstairs shower, but that would not deter me from staying again. Location is very peaceful, away from the hustle, and bustle, but close to everything!

Family Vacation

We absolutely love the house with all the amenities! Plenty of room for everyone. Family love the lake and kayaking in the mornings while I enjoyed my coffee overlooking the lake. We will absolutely book again. Gail & Roger were excellent hosts and extremely responsive.

Such a Sweet Retreat!

The property is such a hidden gem! The house had everything we needed and then some. It was the perfect spot for our family and friends to spend time together on the lake. It was also a perfect location for exploring the surrounding areas as well. This is our 3rd year in a row coming to this house and we’ll be back again. The host is super friendly and welcoming as well!

This home and property was perfect for our family. The home was beautiful inside and out.

Our family loved this home. The owner was very easy to communicate with. Not only is the home beautiful, It is also the most well equipped rental I have ever stayed in. We cooked all meals at home and all the appliances and cooking utensils we needed were available. This one really felt like home away from home. Just lovely.

Gorgeous house and property with all the amenities!

This house and property doesn’t disappoint! More beautiful than the pictures are able to show, great property with ample room to spread out and enjoy the sun and lake. We are a family of 8 adults, and everybody was able to hang out in the living room together. Every convenience is thought of, we had everything at our fingertips. Enjoyed peaceful kayak rides on the lake and a boat parade for the 4th complete with fireworks across the lake. If only we could have ordered more sunny days and warmer temperatures to get some swimming in!

Quiet and Relaxing

The cottage is in a very pretty spot on the lake, which is very quiet with just a few pontoons and fishing boats. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked and we really appreciated all the storage space throughout. It's about a 20 minute drive to Traverse City. Communication with Gail was great. We try to pick a new spot each year to try for vacation but the whole family agreed that we may have to keep coming back to this spot.

Sweet Retreat!

This was the cleanest home we’ve stayed in so far! So much attention to detail. Pictures of the living room don’t do it justice. The lake was perfect for our kids to paddle board, kayak, fish, swim and float in tubes. Short drive to Traverse City, Crystal Mountain and more. Colored fountain at night was icing on the cake. Gail is attentive and wonderful to work with!

Excellent!

This house was better than stated! It was immaculate and very well stocked with everything you could want. We did bring a pack n play for the1 yr old to sleep in. There was a large alcove/closet perfect for her to sleep in her parents room. The sandy beach and shallow lake great for our littles. Great location!! Not far from TC and Sleeping Bear. Owners were great. Fridge quit and a new one promptly brought to the house. Highly recommend!

Paradise stay! Fully stocked home. Just bring your food. VERY CLEAN! Offers lots of extra!

Air conditioner/ceiling fans in all bedrooms. Extra fans. Extra space to spread out beside the house in a pole barn, with extra refrigerator. Can ask for nicer owners to assist in helping in anything you might need. Can’t say enough good things!

Awesome Retreat!

We had 10 ladies for a girls weekend and wish it could have been an entire week! The house is beautiful - immaculate, updated, and beautifully decorated. We spent most of the weekend touring wineries, which I would highly recommend. But one of my favorite parts of our stay was taking my morning coffee down by the lake and enjoying the quiet serenity of the north woods. Gail was very helpful and made herself accessible- but we really didn't need anything!

Wonderful!

The Sweet Retreat is everything you could want in a superb vacation rental. The property is beautiful and peaceful, from the wonderful view of the lake, to the pretty pond fountain, to the perennial flowers surrounding the house. The house is very clean, attractively and comfortably furnished, and has plenty of room for guests. The owners obviously took great care in providing what vacationers need during a stay, because everything we needed was plentiful, inside and out. (Thanks for all the full-length mirrors!) We agreed this was one of the best rentals we have enjoyed over many years, and we hope to return!
