You have the best of both worlds with this Sweet Retreat, nestled on peaceful all sports Bass Lake with a boat launch to Green Lake right down the road. We also offer a 10% discount on a 7 day rental. The cabin sits on four wooded roaming acres, 200 feet of waterfront with beautiful wildlife. This 2300 square foot home has five bedrooms and two full bathrooms. There is an open floor plan that consists of a spacious living room and full kitchen. An open concept living room with windows covering the entire front of the house for spectacular views of the lake. A patio large enough for your entertainment with table, chairs, a gas assist charcoal grill and reclining lawn chairs to relax in, while you enjoy the sights and sounds of the multi colored fountain in the pond. A (Seasonal) fifty foot dock is in the water, 4 kayaks and 2 paddle boards with adult life jackets are available for your summer fun. Bass Lake is a smaller spring fed all sports lake with lots of fishing and skiing. The gradual sloping sandy lake bottom is perfect for little ones to swim in. Come and enjoy our sandy beach!!

Family vacation in Michigan

This property was awesome, to quote my 8 yr old grandson. We had a bed for each of us. Outdoor activities were wonderful. The great room was very spacious & we could all (10) sit at the table for meals. We made some good memories.

Perfect family lake vacation

Having had other lake vacations in Minnesota and Wisconsin, this was the 1st one in Michigan. While we loved hiking at Sleeping Bears dunes and some great meals out, the real highlights were quality time as a family at this beautiful home including meals together, boating, fishing, s’mores around the campfire, family games, and much laughter and stories. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a great family vacation at the lake! Roger and Gail were so gracious in letting us use everything at the house during our stay.

Great house and location

The house was perfect for us - very clean and newly updated. The kitchen was well-stocked, and having multiple refrigerators was great for our large group. There were plenty of kayaks, floats, and the like for the lake, and it was also easy to take trips to Frankfort on Lake Michigan (about 30 minutes away), Sleeping Bear Dunes and Glen Arbor (45 minutes), and Traverse City (30 minutes to downtown Traverse City). We had a fantastic time seeing this part of the state!

Sweet Retreat is Sweet!

Our stay at Sweet Retreat was wonderful! It was very clean, had everything we could ask for, and fit all 10 of us comfortably! We enjoyed the beach, lake, bonfire pit, and home! I would definitely recommend this home to others and would stay here again in the future!

As promised - beautiful place, serene lake, ideally located!

From check in to check out, everything was perfection. Clean, chic country lake cottage that accommodated our entire family (6 adults with 3 grandchildren)! All amenities and then some, perfectly appointed and we'll organized, easy to find. I made ample use of the rowboat, and caught largemouth bass everytime I fished. The lake is small, but the kids loved frolicking in the water, as well as kayaking. The grill provided was easy to use, and we made great use (nightly!) of the plentiful firewood that was already split and stored in the garage. The host was very accomodating and quick to respond ti all of our inquiries. Couldn't have asked for a better vacation!

Gorgeous house and property with all the amenities!

This house and property doesn’t disappoint! More beautiful than the pictures are able to show, great property with ample room to spread out and enjoy the sun and lake. We are a family of 8 adults, and everybody was able to hang out in the living room together. Every convenience is thought of, we had everything at our fingertips. Enjoyed peaceful kayak rides on the lake and a boat parade for the 4th complete with fireworks across the lake. If only we could have ordered more sunny days and warmer temperatures to get some swimming in!

Amazing taste of Upper Michigan

This house was perfect for the 7 of us. We loved fishing and boating in the lake. We loved doing our workouts in the out building. Very clean, close enough to stores and restaurants. Great time for our family.

Such a Sweet Retreat!

The property is such a hidden gem! The house had everything we needed and then some. It was the perfect spot for our family and friends to spend time together on the lake. It was also a perfect location for exploring the surrounding areas as well. This is our 3rd year in a row coming to this house and we’ll be back again. The host is super friendly and welcoming as well!

Amazing stay

I can’t say enough good things about this cabin by the lake. We had the most wonderful stay! Gail, the host was super welcoming and always available for anything we needed. She even called to introduce herself before our stay. They provided a ton of equipment for the lake (boat, paddle board, kayak) and even toys for the kids to play at the house. The house itself was beautiful and spacious. the closets were huge and had a lot of hangers and shelf storage, which is really important when you have kids. The beach was so close to the house and we could see the kids from the window which made it really safe. It was very private and we felt like we had our own little space. We loved it and are hoping we can go back again!!! Thank you Gail for being an amazing host!!

Memories Made!

Sweet Retreat is a delight! The house is very nice and better than the pictures! We did have a slight issue with the upstairs shower, but that would not deter me from staying again. Location is very peaceful, away from the hustle, and bustle, but close to everything!

Beautiful lake house!

The home was beautiful. Plenty of room inside and out. We had 5 adults and 4 children staying here. We all loved the kayaks and paddle boards. There also was plenty of room for the kids to run outside. The home was very clean. The lake is mucky, but there was sort 10 feet of clean sandy bottom for the little ones to splash around in. The house was stocked and provided everything we needed.

Interlochen Paradise

This listing was accurate down to the smallest details. The amenities offered were amazing and in abundance. If anything, it was even more beautiful and scenic than pictures can capture, and you'll want for nothing here, as the owner's have captured and prepared for any and every scenario you might encounter, from exploring the wildlife and wilderness to simply sitting around a campfire enjoying the company of friends and family. The owner's take their role as hosts as an opportunity not only to share this breathtaking retreat with others, but to reach out and provide assurance that anything you might want or need can be accommodated, which is above and beyond in our many VRBO experiences. This was truly a wonderful place and an experience my family will treasure for a lifetime. Will definitely book here again.

Fabulous property

This was our second stay @ Sweet Retreat so needless to say we really enjoy it. The home is lovely & very comfortable. Perfect for our party of 9. Everything you could possibly need is provided. Gail is always available & responds quickly! Beautiful lake view, nice patio & fire pit. Remote yet short drive to several nearby towns. Highly recommend!

Family Vacation

We absolutely love the house with all the amenities! Plenty of room for everyone. Family love the lake and kayaking in the mornings while I enjoyed my coffee overlooking the lake. We will absolutely book again. Gail & Roger were excellent hosts and extremely responsive.

Excellent!

This house was better than stated! It was immaculate and very well stocked with everything you could want. We did bring a pack n play for the1 yr old to sleep in. There was a large alcove/closet perfect for her to sleep in her parents room. The sandy beach and shallow lake great for our littles. Great location!! Not far from TC and Sleeping Bear. Owners were great. Fridge quit and a new one promptly brought to the house. Highly recommend!
