Psarita: Poolside bungalow in a beachfront garden

This quirky and colorful smaller house has two-bedrooms (one double, one king), two bathrooms, and a kitchen/dining area that opens to a covered patio—perfect for al-fresco dining. All rooms overlook the pool and feature hand-painted furniture, indigenous Huichole art, and playfully decoupaged film posters of vintage Mexican cinema. This fun space celebrates the family’s fabulously eclectic and creative daughter Psarah. The beach is a one minute walk down the brick path, through the flowers and fruit trees.
All amenities are here including air conditioning, phone, WiFi, internet, TV with satellite and DVD player.
Casa Psarita (formerly “Casa Bendon”) is one of four casas that make up Villas Playita, a family-owned beachfront property in the heart of Bucerias’ most popular neighborhood. Built back when the town was a charming fishing village, there are few places like this left anywhere. Escape into a simpler time, free from the tourist crowd and time-share condo salesmen. Or stroll ten minutes down Lazaro Cardenas into Bucerias’ bustling Centro of restaurants and shopping.

Hidden Gem one minute walk down path to beach

We really enjoyed our stay here and Miguel and Oliver (the property manager) were very accommodating and easy to reach. By the 2nd day of our 4 day stay, we were the only ones here and we had the beautiful, relaxing pool area to ourselves. I loved the walkway to the beach, as it is very tropical and beautiful. Old Mexico at it's best! Beds were comfy as were the pillows. Bathrooms a little outdated, however, great water pressure in the showers. I would definitely stay again :-)

Pool - Swimming laps only one person at a time due to narrowness of pool. After the first two weeks I had to request the pool be cleaned. They did it the next day very well. I did get an infection on a mosquito bite after I went in the pool before it was cleaned There is no table and chairs in the living room. There are bar stools at the counter. Fridge and stove good. I had to buy a drain for the sink as well as a colander and sharp knives. And a wire brush to clean the bbq. The manager never visited or what’s appd to see how we were doing. The setting is a beautiful garden and very relaxing We did need a fan outside as the location of the unit is blocked by the bigger units for the wind. . The fan worked very well. And the house cleaner got the fan as soon as we asked.

Amazing property!

We were very excited about staying at this property when we booked it and it was better than we imagined. The property itself is gorgeous with the rustic bungalows, tropical gardens, pool and beach. Miguel and the caretakers made sure we had everything we needed for our 2 week stay. We already miss the tranquility and cannot wait until we can return. Thank you, Miguel, for everything!

Beautiful Grounds!

We only stayed for 4 nights but it was perfect for what we needed. Miquel was very accommodating and everything we needed was supplied. Beautiful grounds and really enjoyed the short walk through the gardens to the roped off private beach. Spent a couple evenings on the beach loungers star gazing! The unit is older and rustic but very clean and secure! This place is a real gem, you feel like you are miles away from the busy little town of Bucerias but you are just steps from the Golden Zone!

Everything I hoped for!

My friend is a very experienced traveller and steered the choice of accommodation based on our particular preferred interests. I love swimming and wanted easy access to the water. We also wanted separate space, proximity to restaurants , groceries etc . This place was beyond my expectations. The property is lovely. It has privacy, wonderful host and very accessible and attentive staff. It is immaculate. The location is spectacular. The pool is wonderful- approx 13 metres and very inviting with varying depths. The beach is 100 steps along a very well kept brick path through a lovely fruit tree grove. I loved this place. I hope to go back!

Best Place Ever!!

I have never stayed at a better place in Mexico ever! I will definitely be back. Miguel and especially Oliver were most gracious in my stay. The bungalow, pool, and beach area was clean and welcoming. The area is perfect to walk anywhere in Bucerias. Esmeralda and Armando are hard workers in keeping the place clean and tidy. The vegetation around is perfect for shade and beautiful to look at. Although I was on my own there is plenty of room in each of the bungalows to give you and a guest space. Separate bedrooms each with their own bathroom. I felt safe and comfortable on my own. I really can’t say enough about how wonderful my stay was here. I would definitely recommend staying here! Absolute heaven as I described it to my friends and family at home. A perfect quiet getaway!

Beachfront stay

The property is in a great location on the beach and on the main street in Bucerias. Paninos Bakery a block away and La Dolce Vita ( good Italian food) just opened steps away. The kitchen is well equipped for occasional meals in. The only seating inside is around the dining table but we spent a lot of time on the outdoor patio. The vegetation provides a lot of privacy for the patio but bring some bug spray. The amenities didn’t list a safe but one is provided for security. Very quiet at night and only some occasional construction noise during the day- hard to avoid it these days. While it is a two bedroom it would be tight for more than two people. We used second bedroom as our closet. The beach out front is great but could use another palapa for shade. The pool is heated and a great way to cool off in the afternoon. We were often the only ones in the pool. Daily maid service ( except Sunday). Checkin was easy and we had no issues with the property. In summary it is a good location and we enjoyed our stay.

This is the third time we have stayed at Casa Psarita and it was wonderful again. We love the rustic charm, pool, close to the beach and the people are amazing. Oliver welcomed us to the property and Esperanza and Armando took great care of the property and us. If I could give more stars, I would. Thank you for another incredible vacation!

Wonderful place

Beautiful little hideaway!

Our second stay here and look forward to coming back again. A private getaway surrounded by a lush jungle feel, yet right on the beach. A little rustic yes, but clean and very comfortable. The pool is so nice and so easy to just jump in whenever you feel like. Close to numerous cafes and restaurants too. A very walkable area.

Perfect!

We loved every day of the 3 weeks we spent here. Great staff and location. Beautiful gardens, heated pool, 30 seconds to the beach, very comfortable bed. Everything is very clean. We wish we were there now!
