Arapaho Cliffs log cabin on Chicago Creek is nestled in a canyon with no other homes in sight yet is just 2.5 miles south of Idaho Springs, Colorado on the scenic byway to Mt. Evans and Wilderness Area. Fish for trout from the private bridge or on the banks with over 1,000' of creek frontage. Arapaho National Forest trails accessible from the back yard. Enjoy sightseeing and fine dining in historic Idaho Springs. Tour a real gold mine. Relax in the famous hot springs resort. Cabin has modern kitchen and baths and tastefully furnished in rustic western style. Quality bedding, kitchen items, etc. 1 King Bed, 1 Queen, 2 double beds and 1 pull-out double couch.

Ready to enjoy your Colorado mountain experience? Make a fire in the wood stove, read a book on the covered porch listening to the creek, or enjoy the deck with family and friends. 45 minutes to downtown Denver. Beat the ski traffic - 7 ski resorts from 30 min to 1 hour away.

The host is very helpful and answered questions promptly. The cabin was amazing. It was very close to town and not too far from Denver but once on the property you would think you were in the country. It is well stocked with all you need. We loved the creek, the sitting areas outside, the family friendly layout inside.Highly recommend!

Host was very nice and we loved the property and would stay again. The advertisement said there was a gas grill but a new county ordinance prevented them from letting us use it. Also, the internet and landline were out and there was no cell phone reception which was a little I settling.Idaho Springs had a great little coffee shop and pizza place and a nice little downtown.

Excellent location. Plenty of space for four adults. The kitchen had plenty of pots and pans for cooking and baking. The hiking trail out the back was beautiful. Close to good ski options.

All of it was just wonderful! The house was beautiful, it had so many lovely features and everything we needed. The front porch was the best place for 6 30 a.m. coffee with my friend. The place down but he creek was beautiful; but it was rainy so we did not get to enjoy it. The big table was perfect for game and card playing, and bathrooms {2} were more than accommodating. The decor throughout and even the books were all perfect! The host was very good about what ws expected, and very good about letting us know. And, the housekeeper was a joy to meet! She was very friendly, and we enjoyed her as well.We were from Salt Lake City and North Platte, Nebraska. We would definitely stay again! Our stay was more than memorable and we all thank you so very much!

This house is gorgeous and quite special. It is FULLY equipped and so comfortable. The creek in front is beautiful. I just might say that it is right on a fairly busy road so it's not very quiet due to lots of car/truck noise. In spite of that, I would definitely stay there again!

We love this cabin. It's in a great location. The information needs updating. There is no longer a grill and check-out time is listed as 10 in some places and 11 in others.

The home was very clean, plenty spacious, and it was very well equipped with anything we needed. I am a huge over packer so it was nice having all the amenities of home! I do wish we would have known beforehand that we would be unable to use the grill and fire pit but this is understandable as it is the dry season in the mountains

Perfection!

The cabin was so comfortable, inside and out. Everything we needed was there, for cooking and just chilling. Being close enough to town was handy. From the front porch it was fun to watch the few passing cars and motorcycles---backed by an impressive stone canyon wall---with sounds masked by the flowing Chicago Creek. The back deck is a peaceful spot to enjoy a verdant canyon wall. But we equally enjoyed the artwork, books and design elements of this wonderful log cabin.

This cabin was perfect! Secluded, but close to town also. Beautiful Creek in front and a hiking trail out back! The house was very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay! The only downside is that there was a fire ban, so we couldn’t grill or use the fire pit. So, I would recommend checking on that if you plan to stay here. Otherwise, it was an awesome cabin!

Great private cabin on the creek and in nature.. Nice place to stay if you want to go rafting as Clear Creek drop in is just up the road. It was about 1 hour to the airport. Cabin was clean and well stocked.

Blankets not washed between guest

Our stay was great, but afterwards my card was ran withouth permission for an extra 60.00 to wash the blanket from my sons bed as he wet the bed. Before checking out, we washed all the sheets from every bed as well as all the towels and dishes. I assumed they wash all the big blankets between guest anyways so did not wash the blanket. Apparently they do not which is disgusting. I would not stay here again knowing they do not wash everything between guest. Very unsanitary.

Best cabin ever!

Our vacation in Colorado was amazing mainly due to this cabin. The cabin and its location was so perfect. We planned the trip around a concert at red rocks. It was only about 30 minutes away. The airport was about an hour away. The town of Idaho springs was precious! Shops, restaurants, mineral hot springs, white water rafting and hikes were all close by. To top it off, the Chicago creek runs right in front of the cabin. Gorgeous! We are having a hard time sleeping at home now without the sound of that creek! We miss it! This cabin is one of those rare VRBO’s that is actually better than advertised. We loved everything about it and hope to return!

This is an absolutely beautiful VRBO - the nicest one we have ever stayed in. it was beautifully furnished with very comfortabl beds. It was also supplied with about anything we could possibly need and was very clean and comfortable. The view from the front deck was amazing and we spent a number of hours each day there just relaxing. It also has a beautiful area down near the creek, but the water was flowing high and it was very noisy so we chose the deck instead. It is a beautiful place and anyone would enjoy a stay there. We would highly recommend it and hope to maybe be able return.

Birthdays and relationships

Our stay at the cabin was amazing. It was peaceful and beautiful and all we hoped it would be. We celebrated 2 birthdays and had fun exploring the property, relaxing by the creek and playing games in rain. We loved it and will come back for sure! The cabin had everything we would ever need and it was clean and very comfortable. Thank you.

Great Mountain cabin

Amazing cabin at a beautiful location

The cabin is spacious and has a great vibe. The creek in front of the house is so pretty and you can hear it from jnside the house. There's a trail right outside the backyard that takes you up the mountain for incredible views. I love this place and would efinitely stay here again!

Nice place!

Cabin was as advertised and in a great location! Enjoyed the creek and were able to hike close by..enjoyed Echo Lake for a hike and spent some time in Black Hawk. Great place and will definitely come back and stay again!

We love the setting of our cabin, nestled in a canyon, with a roaring creek, surrounded by National Forest, and without another home in sight. We also like the convenient location near the lively and vibrant City of Denver, with every available cultural activity and amenity; the quaint and historic town of Idaho Springs; and all the splendid sights and activities in the Rocky Mountains.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

The sights and sounds of the creek are truly magical. On a more practical note, the cabin is extremely easy to find and easy to get to anytime of year on paved roads that are snow-plowed regularly. Winter access is about as good as it gets for the mountains in Colorado.
