The Sandy River Ski House is located in a quiet and peaceful older neighborhood in Brightwood/Welches, within the shadows of Mount Hood. The property is located on the Sandy river. Many places to sit and relax among the beautiful tall fir trees on the property.
You can hear the rushing river 200' from the house, only a short walk to the waters edge, easy to just sit and enjoy the river. This is a NO SMOKING property.


Summer hiking: Very easy driving to many excellent hiking trails surrounding Mount Hood.

Travel to Ski Bowl for summer fun on the Alpine Slide and other summer attractions.

Easy driving to all 5 Mount Hood Ski areas (Timberline, Ski Bowl, Mount Hood Meadows, Summit, Cooper Spur)

3 & 4 night minimum stays for Holiday Weekends, We welcome your pets, $40 fee per pet for your stay.
Only registered guests are allowed in the house or on the property.

The house in immaculate condition. Everything was clean and in Great condition! The hot tub was one of the cleanest I’ve seen.I really appreciated the large collection of books and DVD’s the host had and that there is a TV and dvd player in every room!

e Always love coming here. The house and yard are always super clean. It's great to be able to bring our dog with us. The hot tub is perfect right off the master bedroom. Warm down comforters on all beds. Firewood for a cozy fire. Quiet location with easy access to the mountain. David is a great helpful host.

Wonderful cabin!

Plenty of room both indoors and out for our family of 5 plus two four legged friends. Lots of living space, a well stocked kitchen and a short walk down to a gorgeous river. Host was friendly and readily available to ensure a smooth visit. This cabin was a perfect home base for adventures on Mt. Hood!

This cozy cabin in the woods is spacious, quiet has many places to walk to including the Sandy River.It is a short walk to a secluded cove. We had the best time and David is the best host! He made sure we had everything we needed and then some. We loved this stay and we will miss it.

Relaxing Getaway

We enjoyed a relaxing holiday getaway at the Sandy River Ski House. Just a short drive from the Portland metro area but a world away in terms of peace and quiet: just the sound of the wind in the trees and the gentle waters of the nearby Sandy River. The house is equipped with all the amenities you may need and is easy to find off the main highway. Overall, a great place to unwind, unplug, and connect with nature

Amazing Cabin!!! Best on Mt Hood!

Wonderful Rental! Sparkling Clean. Super nice hottub, right off the Master suite. Shady/Sunny places to sit around the quiet yard, meadow and river. Lots of extras. Host had great recommendations. What a sweet retreat.

Sandy River Ski House was perfect for our family's stay in the area. We were so delighted with the outdoor space and ate most of our meals at the picnic table and spent a good deal of time relaxing by the private access to Sandy River. The location of the house was so convenient to Thriftway and several eateries and coffee shops as well as all the places we wanted to explore - Mt Hood/Timberline Lodge, Old Salmon River Trail and Trillium Lake were a few of our favorites.The beds were comfortable, the hot tub was very clean, the house was well labeled and David was extremely helpful with recommendations and answering any questions I had. Highly recommend!

Clean, Comfy & Quiet – A Perfect Mountain Getaway

We had such a great stay here! Super clean and comfortable. We all felt at home right away. The hot tub was clean and toasty, simply splendid. This was great in the evening after a long day of hiking. We loved the nature path down to the river area. The down comforters were super cozy, and mornings with coffee on the front porch and birds singing… couldn’t ask for it better. Quiet, relaxing, and just a really beautiful place. Highly recommend!

Sweet Mountain Cabin

We had a wonderful time, and the cabin is very clean and inviting. The short walk to the river and proximity to great hikes make for an ideal location.

Ski Week was Perfect

We stayed for a week and had a lovely time. Hotub was great after skiing and was cleaned and serviced while we were there. Beautiful trail to the river. Just overall an excellent spot.

Lots of Room, Clean, comfortable and great location

The Sandy River Ski House is a great place to stay while exploring the Mt. Hood area. The place is large, very comfortable beds, a good hot tub, kitchen is good and the outside area is very nice. The house is very close to restaurants, groceries, and many really good hikes. I would recommend this place and would stay again when in the area.

What a Beautiful Home

What a beautiful stay. We loved the hot tub and the clear partial awning to view the night sky while listening to the river sounds. This place is great! Frosty mugs in freezer. Super clean. Really nice furnishings. Excellent new mattresses. Sleep number bed in master. Plenty of kitchen "stuff" for cooking. A sweet yard to sit in. The cool meadow down back, and an excellent spot by the river. Great host.

Lovely home amongst the trees

A quiet neighborhood, a lovely home with lots to do, a wonderfully well put together vacation home. The hot tub was great and the host was easy to communicate with and allowed us a late checkout which was the perfect compliment to our weekend. He even ordered snow for our stay and the fireplace made lovely ambiance. We loved all the games and cozy blankets and beds and we'd love to come back.

Amazing place

Every detail was thought out. Very comfy beds. Fireplaces are a plus as well as the hot tub. Detailed instructions made it so easy to check in and out. Highly recommend this place !

Hi, I have owned a vacation home for the past 35 years. I enjoy having my wife, adult son and our friends share our lovely home with us. We are outdoor enthusiasts. We love to ski, raft, hike, backpack, swim etc.. Friends love to join us at the Sandy River Ski House for fun, relaxation, sitting around the fireplace and in the kitchen making yummy meals.

It is next to the river (200') with easy access to all the fun stuff to do on Mount Hood. Just a short 50 minute ride from Portland and we can be sitting on the porch sipping tea and listening to the sounds of the river through the large fir trees.
