South Shore Cottage - AVAILABLE FOR MONTHLY RENTAL DECEMBER-MID MAY

This completely renovated cabin, conveniently located on the South Shore, features a gorgeous lake view both inside and out. You’ll enjoy a modern, open floorplan with a large kitchen, dining area and family room as well as spacious bedrooms and bath areas. Our home is single-story, with no interior steps for easy accessibility. New luxury plank flooring, new paint and all new furniture are just some of the updates made recently to our home.

All-new stylish decor give this home a modern lake feel, and amenities include a large flat-screen TV, kitchen peninsula with bar stools, new appliances and updated cabinets.

Outdoors, you’ll enjoy a scenic view on a large patio with Adirondack chairs, gas fire pit and Weber grill, along with a side yard for games and fun. Parking is off-street in front of a 2-stall garage.

Our home features three roomy bedrooms, one full bath and one half bath, with room to sleep four adults and four children. The first bedroom has a premium king-size memory foam bed, and the second had a premium coil queen bed. The third bedroom is a kid-friendly bunk room with all-new beds. These spacious bedrooms will ensure your family and friends feel right at home. The living room has comfy new furniture and opens to the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is fully furnished with everything you need, including a Keurig coffee-maker. Bed linens and towels are also provided. Also included is high speed cable WiFi, premium high-def digital cable with On-Demand service, flat screen TV in living room with Blu-Ray. An Amana washer and dryer is also available and is on the main level.

Our home is close to South Shore attractions such as PM Park, the Market, and Clear Lake boats, and is just a short drive to the Clear Lake downtown area. We’re sure you’ll enjoy the beauty, charm and convenience of our lovely lake home!

Family Vacation

Clear Lake Winter Trip

We found the house as described in the Vrbo listing. The host John checked in with us during the stay to make sure all was well. The home is clean and comfortable and we would surely stay here again when back in the area.

Great getaway

This is the second time we've stayed at this property. The house is updated, clean with lots of space in the common areas. It is a great location with convenient parking. I would highly recommend this property for anyone wanting a fun getaway to Clear Lake!

A+ South Shore Cottage

We had a great time in Clear Lake! Fishing was great and this property was convenient to town and the grandkids loved being able to walk to the ice cream shop. No parking for your boat at the property but John has a place nearby where you can park it.

GREAT STAY

There ended up being 7 of us staying at this property. There was still plenty of room for all of us. The living/dining area was all open to the kitchen. Nice size bedrooms. We would like to book it for next year.

Beautiful home. Very comfortable. Everything as described

Our elderly ladies take a once a year trip. This year it was Clear Lake/Mason City area. Absolutely great place to visit. We took in concert at Surf ballroom, toured Mason City, and did the Clear Lake boat ride. Only complaint was we didn't have more time to just seat on patio and chill. Very nice place.

A clean and welcoming home

We really enjoyed our stay and the home was very clean and updated. There is a larger kitchen for cooking and a nice size living room for folks to gather. The location was great, with The Sweet Spot within view of the house. We also walked to the end of the street to a public access area and watched fireworks on the Fourth of July. Would definitely recommend as the host was very helpful for any questions I had.

Great Escape

This property was perfect for my friends and I. It was spacious, very nice and a great location. All the necessities were provided like soap, body wash, shampoo/conditioner, paper towels, and cleaning supplies. There was a fire pit behind the garage. Lots of outdoor space and a huge patio. Definitely recommend!

Nice Place....Good Location

This was a perfect place for our three-generation family getaway. A king room for grandpa and grandma, bunk room for the kids, and a queen room for the parents. Boat dock for fishing was close by and we had good luck fishing both days we were there. Plenty of room for 7 people and the patio with a picnic table and gas fire pit was a nice plus. The grandkids had a great time at the beach in the nearby State Park. Our host was very responsive to our questions and got back to us right away. Would definitely recommend this unit.

Showed up and found trash all over the drive way had to clean up myself and sent property manager email 2 weeks prior about boat lift availability and heard nothing

Very Happy

We booked this house for our family of six. It was for our oldest daughter’s wedding in Clear Lake. The home was perfect for us. I wish we could have spent more time enjoying the house and area….busy wedding prep and day. Our heat did not work the first night (completely unpredictable and not the owners fault). John was very responsive. He got a tech out there early the next morning and got it fixed. The rest of our stay was cozy and warm. Thank you. We would stay here again.

Nice and spacious house

Enjoyed our stay but very disappointed there was no dock at the public access. Please remove that picture since you can not access the water! That was extremely disappointing! All in all very good, but every bed pillow needs to be replaced!!

Great getaway!

This is a nicely decorated, cute house close to the lake and the south shore activities. We had 6 adults on this trip and we all had plenty of room in the common areas and bedrooms. The kitchen and baths are updated and everything is in working order. The patio has a gas powered firepit and lots of comfy chairs to relax and see the lake. There is a nice view of the lake down the alley (the house isn't directly on the water) with a very short walk to the lake and a public peer. The owners are easy to work with and very accommodating. Parking is limited, but the two car garage is available. We would absolutely recommend this house to anyone looking for a fun getaway on Clear Lake!

Anniversary Getaway

We arrived a little before 6 PM & found no key in the lock box. John quickly resolved this mixup with his cleaner! We were able to store our belongings & head to dinner, while the cleaning was completed. Just a handful of things were left undone but nothing major. While the house is on a main road, it was quiet at night & the view of the lake was so relaxing. We had an enjoyable time & would rent this again!

Another great stay

This was our third stay at this property in Clear Lake. The accommodations have improved every year. Patio: lake view and lots of seating (newer furnishings) plus umbrellas, corn hole, fire pit, and gas grill. Public water access is just down the hill. Bedrooms: Beds, pillows and bedding are in good shape. Clean. Bathrooms: Clean, good water pressure good, with plenty of hot water for six people. Plenty of towels and toilet paper. Kitchen: Spacious, fully functional. Everything we needed to cook multiple meals. Surprisingly, the kitchen was stocked up on detergent, cleaners, paper towels, trash bags, cleaners, etc. Common area: clean, updated furnishings and plenty of seating for everyone. Overall, five enthusiastic stars. We'll definitely stay here again!

Our neighborhood is quintessential Clear Lake. You’re surrounded by classic Clear Lake bungalows, as well as attractive lakeside homes. Downtown Clear Lake is just a 10-minute drive or boat ride from our cabin.

The Market is a Clear Lake tradition, with basic household needs and food, as well as the best donuts on the lake. Next door to the Market, you’ll find an ice cream shop shaped…like an ice cream cone! It’s one of a kind.

A state park is just a short walk and features a public access beach, picnic facilities, including grills and tables.

Two, privately operated RV parks are just a short drive on South Shore from the cabin and are popular during summer months.
