Whippoorwill Cabin - Charming Cabin in Mt. Airy NC

The Whippoorwill Cabin is situated in the North Carolina Foothills, conveniently located near Mount Airy (aka Mayberry), Blue Ridge Parkway, Yadkin Valley Wine Trail, wineries, vineyards, Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock State Parks, Primland Reserve and much more.
The Whippoorwill Cabin is a unique getaway unlike any other cabin rental or B&B that you have visited in the past. The cabin is situated on the rolling hills of a forty-acre farm perched above a large fish pond that offers scenic water views out of the open great room. We are located about 10 minutes north of Mt. Airy off of Highway 103.

We love Whippoorwill Cabin!

We always enjoy our visits to Whippoorwill. My husband and brother in law really enjoyed fishing in the pond. My sister and I loved relaxing on the porch watching the wildlife and cows, and listening to the birds. I know we’ll be back for another visit.

This lovely CABIN in the middle of the country, was just what I needed for some R&R. I loved everything about it. The caretaker could not have been more available or more helpful. I saw cows, Many interesting birds, and two groundhogs!It was just perfect for me. I hope to return.

Walden Pond

Came for fall foliage visit. Enjoyed beautiful & peaceful setting on this farm with its pond. Enjoyed seeing the cows, birds & a few deer. Very relaxing & in a great location! Had a great time!

Beautiful cabin retreat in the country

Had a great stay at the Whippoorwill Cabin! It was clean and well equipped for a long weekend getaway. The property was beautiful, and access to the pond for some fishing was much appreciated. Would definitely stay here again!

Quiet Getaway

My wife and I came here for a short getaway. This place is great for relaxing under the stars by the fire. We went hiking nearby and Mt Airy is a cool town close by. Loved this place and am looking forward to a future visit.

Whippoorwill Cabin

Cozy cabin on a 40 acre farm with a pond. Great views and close to Mt. Airy. The hosts have thought of everything to make your stay perfect. This was our third visit to the Whippoorwill Cabin. We can't wait to stay again!

Amazing as Always

This is a beautiful, cozy cabin in a quiet, but easily accessible location. It only FEELS like you're in the middle of nowhere. Lots to see in the area and plenty of good restaurants nearby. It has become our annual get away spot.

We had a lot of fun. It was very peaceful and quiet. It has everything you need. Mount airy was fun and a lot to do. We ate at the depot in Dobson, it was very good.

Let all your worries fade away!

This is our favorite place on earth! From the cabin where our hosts have literally thought of everything to the relaxing view and pond filled with fish, you could not ask for more! Just so peaceful and relaxing, we LOVE it!

Clean cabin near Mt Airy but has enough "country"

The housekeeper had music playing and dim lights on when we checked in. They thought of everything. Plenty of supplies and very clean. Great country cabin to quietly enjoy and still close to run into Mt Airy and see "Mayberry."

Fun in the SNOW!

This was our second visit to this wonderful place. We enjoyed our stay very much! We woke up to about 3 inches of snow on Super Bowl Sunday! My husband had packed a sled "just in case" and we had so much fun. We played in the snow all morning and by the afternoon the snow was gone. We love staying on this property and will visit again.

Piece of Heaven

Beautiful cabin and gorgeous piece of property. This was the perfect place for a peaceful, relaxing, surprise getaway for my husband's 65th birthday! And there was even a card, balloon and cake with a candle ready for him when we walked in! What a nice gesture. Really enjoyed watching the cows! We both absolutely loved our stay - it was just what we needed. We will be back!

Country Life

We really enjoyed the setting of the cabin in the rolling hills and the fact that it was a short drive from town. The pond was great, and fishing became our nightly pasttime. My son really enjoyed the basketball goal/court. If in the area, I would definitely recommend the Whipporwill Cabin. Our trip to Mt Airy was very relaxing, and the town is, as portrayed in the Andy Griffith show, like stepping back in time to the good old days.

Perfect Thanksgiving!

Absolutely amazing home and location! After losing my mother this year, holidays just aren’t the same. We decided to start traveling on holidays and marking off our bucket list of places to visit, and bringing my dad along for the journey! It was exactly what our little family needed. Our hearts were full the entire visit. We picked your property because it’s exactly where my mom would have wanted to have stayed if she was with us, and it truly felt like she was! Perfect Peace

We cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay at Whippoorwill Cabin was! Communication with both the owner (Lura) and caretaker (Evon) was seamless and it felt as if they truly cared about our stay being enjoyable and worry-free. If you are looking to get away and have a quiet and picturesque place to relax, this is you place. From the pond to the well-maintained grounds, there’s beauty everywhere you look. The cabin itself is beautiful and well-appointed…everything we needed (and more) was available and in good condition. I could go on and on, but I’ll just say that we’ve stayed at many properties over the years and Whippoorwill Cabin is our favorite of them all. We will definitely be going back again!

Everything and more!

This is a beautiful cabin on a gorgeous piece of property! The cabin was clean and decorated beautifully! It felt very cozy and the view of the pond is priceless! Quiet surroundings except for the occasional car out on the road and the farm animals doing their thing. So peaceful and relaxing! Brother in law and his wife caught several fish! My husband and I enjoyed exploring the property! Just be advised there is no washer and dryer!

Mt Airy

We enjoyed our stay. The property was awesome. We had lots of fun fishing in the pond. We caught lots and lots of fish to include several catfish - at least one more than 5 lbs. It was peaceful. We will be going back again. The location was close to Pilot Mountain. We went to the park and then to their car show which was great. We went to Hillsville to the giant flea market. We would recommend this property if you love fishing and love being out in the woods. The house was beautiful and met our needs.

Never been more relaxed!

Whippoorwill was as described and more. The property has a persona that “that hugs you and says chill we got you”as soon as you walk thru the door. The cabin is spacious, comfortable, well equipped, very clean, has comfy beds and is very private but only 10 minutes from Mount Airy(FYI Mount Airy was fun). Outside there’s this huge relaxing porch with rockers with views of the immaculately kept grounds including the private lake. There’s outside cooking, basketball, and great walking spots. The lake is beautiful and has plenty of fish. It was hot so bass fishing was okay but the catfishing was great! The Host is as amazing as the property. Communication was exceptional; prompt, friendly and welcoming. Our overall experience was fantastic! From start to finish this rental exceeded expectations. We loved our stay and will be back!! We highly recommend this property
