Whippoorwill Cabin - Charming Cabin in Mt. Airy NC

The Whippoorwill Cabin is situated in the North Carolina Foothills, conveniently located near Mount Airy (aka Mayberry), Blue Ridge Parkway, Yadkin Valley Wine Trail, wineries, vineyards, Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock State Parks, Primland Reserve and much more.
The Whippoorwill Cabin is a unique getaway unlike any other cabin rental or B&B that you have visited in the past. The cabin is situated on the rolling hills of a forty-acre farm perched above a large fish pond that offers scenic water views out of the open great room. We are located about 10 minutes north of Mt. Airy off of Highway 103.

Walden Pond

Came for fall foliage visit. Enjoyed beautiful & peaceful setting on this farm with its pond. Enjoyed seeing the cows, birds & a few deer. Very relaxing & in a great location! Had a great time!

Hideaway

This was the 2nd time staying at this cabin. We had an amazing time. It is close to Mt. Airy, Mt. Pilot and other small towns. We enjoyed visiting Mt. Airy. We went to a cruise in at Mt. Pilot which is always great. We went fishing everyday. We caught approximately 6 catfish each day along with a number of bass, brim and crappy. It is so peaceful and beautiful. The people in the towns are so friendly. We will be going back again. Everything you could possibly want is provided.

Love Whippoorwill Cabin!

We love staying at Whippoorwill Cabin! We brought our 15 year old grandson with us this time. He really enjoyed the catch and release fishing in the pond, and caught three large catfish plus several bream. The cabin is rustic and cozy with a lovely view…so relaxing! We will definitely be back!

Never been more relaxed!

Whippoorwill was as described and more. The property has a persona that “that hugs you and says chill we got you”as soon as you walk thru the door. The cabin is spacious, comfortable, well equipped, very clean, has comfy beds and is very private but only 10 minutes from Mount Airy(FYI Mount Airy was fun). Outside there’s this huge relaxing porch with rockers with views of the immaculately kept grounds including the private lake. There’s outside cooking, basketball, and great walking spots. The lake is beautiful and has plenty of fish. It was hot so bass fishing was okay but the catfishing was great! The Host is as amazing as the property. Communication was exceptional; prompt, friendly and welcoming. Our overall experience was fantastic! From start to finish this rental exceeded expectations. We loved our stay and will be back!! We highly recommend this property

Relaxing Vacation

This was our second trip to Mount Airy as well as our second time staying at the Whippoorwill Cabin. As expected, we had another great and relaxing trip. Our favorite activities while on the property were playing basketball on the court behind the garage and fishing became a nightly routine. We really enjoy the country setting of the cabin as well as the laid back atmosphere of the town itself. We hope to visit again in the future.

Relaxing Stay

We enjoyed this beautiful cabin and setting. The pond was great. We had a good time just sitting on the porch taking in the surroundings. We definitely plan on returning.

Great getaway for a milestone birthday!

Rented this property as a surprise for my son's 40th birthday weekend. He and his family absolutely loved the cabin and the amenities! They especially enjoyed the deck and firepit. Said the location was perfect, very remote and private however not too far in any direction to Pilot Mountain and Mt. Airy. They are interested in possibly staying again in the near future. The description and photos online were a great representation of the cabin and the surrounding area. And the host was extremely fast in responding to any questions or concerns I had. Definitely a home run and memorable weekend!

Perfect Thanksgiving!

Absolutely amazing home and location! After losing my mother this year, holidays just aren’t the same. We decided to start traveling on holidays and marking off our bucket list of places to visit, and bringing my dad along for the journey! It was exactly what our little family needed. Our hearts were full the entire visit. We picked your property because it’s exactly where my mom would have wanted to have stayed if she was with us, and it truly felt like she was! Cozy house with beautiful view

My husband and I, and 2 of our grown sons stayed here while in town for our nephew’s/cousin’s wedding. It was perfect for us, and convenient to the wedding venue(Luna Trail Farm) and to Mt Airy. The beds were very comfortable and the views of the pond and pastures could not be beat!

Cozy cabin on a 40 acre farm with a pond. Great views and close to Mt. Airy. The hosts have thought of everything to make your stay perfect. This was our third visit to the Whippoorwill Cabin. We can't wait to stay again!

Beautiful relaxing cabin

We truly enjoyed the stay at this secluded and relaxing cabin. The view from the windows inside the cabin was just amazing. The upstair bedroom has a wonderful view to wake up each morning. The upstairs is a large bedroom and bathroom but the downstairs bathroom is rather small especially the shower but it will do. I will most definitely be back. It’s so convenient to Mt Airy - best kept secret to us!! We enjoyed going finish and cooking out with enjoying the fire pit. We love it!!

Perfect Peace

We cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay at Whippoorwill Cabin was! Communication with both the owner (Lura) and caretaker (Evon) was seamless and it felt as if they truly cared about our stay being enjoyable and worry-free. If you are looking to get away and have a quiet and picturesque place to relax, this is you place. From the pond to the well-maintained grounds, there’s beauty everywhere you look. The cabin itself is beautiful and well-appointed…everything we needed (and more) was available and in good condition. I could go on and on, but I’ll just say that we’ve stayed at many properties over the years and Whippoorwill Cabin is our favorite of them all. We will definitely be going back again!

Perfect place away from it all to relax

We absolutely loved our stay at the Whippoorwill Cabin! We’d recommend to anyone in Mt Airy who wants to relax, unwind and get away from hustle of city life. They thought of everything; attention to detail was spot on inside and out. Kitchen had everything we needed. My husband loved the basketball hoop and I loved watching the cows roam the hills that were inside their own fenced in area. About 20 minutes away was a city like street that had every fast food you could think of, Lowe’s Hardware store and a super Walmart. Once you’re at the cabin everything was perfectly peaceful! Thanks for a fabulous stay and we’ll come back! Only thing is the lockbox sticks a little. The code they provided was correct you just need to jiggle the bottom part of the box a little bit.

Beautiful cabin retreat in the country

Had a great stay at the Whippoorwill Cabin! It was clean and well equipped for a long weekend getaway. The property was beautiful, and access to the pond for some fishing was much appreciated. Would definitely stay here again!
