The Ponderosa Mountain Home is now available only for 30-days or longer.

Ponderosa Mountain Home is just a short walk to ice skating and ice fishing in winter, boating and fishing in summer. It is also a short walk/drive to downtown Evergreen! Come enjoy this beautiful area with ample outdoor activities, fine restaurants and the greatest brew pubs in the world. Easy access to Red Rocks Amphitheatre, taverns and clubs featuring local musicians, outstanding dramatic theater, even first-rate opera and ballet. Outdoor sports are incomparable. For summer, just step outside your door. Or the Mt. Evans Wilderness is just a short drive. Rocky Mountain National Park is two hours away on the scenic Peak-to-Peak Highway. Winter is a wonderland, a doorway to world-class skiing, snowshoeing, and climbing. The Ponderosa Mountain Home has 3 bedrooms. The master suite has a sitting room and queen-size bed with adjustable mattress. The second bedroom has a full mattress, also adjustable. The third bedroom has a day bed with a trundle. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome but while outdoors they must be on a leash at all times. It is to safeguard your pet(s) and the local wildlife, who really are our premier guests.

Wonderful…We love the quaintness!!!

This is our 5th time staying at the Ponderosa!!! We love everything about this cozy cabin, it’s location, lake access, cleanliness, and watching our Premier Guests in surprising places! We always appreciate the hospitality and kindness of our host!! It goes without saying that we certainly will be returning to our home away from home.

Evergreen Home

Amazing home in great neighborhood. Close to downtown restaurants and shopping. The home interior is very warm and inviting. The gas stone fireplace brings a cozy feeling to the house. Kitchen is large and well stocked. It snowed 18” while we were there. We hiked nearby trails in the snow and then came back to relax by the fire. Would definitely rent again.

Beautiful

It was an amazing place and absolutely gorgeous. We had deer in the yard everyday and herds of elk right within town! It was an easy access to the gorgeous lake. Everything we needed was in the cabin ready for us. It is cozy, quiet and not to mention the beds are so comfortable! 100would recommend!%

Wonderful cabin in idyllic location

This was the second time we stayed at Ponderosa this year. We love the location being able to walk to the lake and downtown Evergreen. The cabin is well appointed and has everything one would need. The best part is sitting out on the deck and watching elk walk by.

Great little cabin near lake and downtown

We stayed at Ponderosa for a week and had a wonderful time. The location is very convenient to everything and you can easily walk down to the lake and downtown. The home is well equipped and very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again in the future.

Awesome Cabin

The Ponderosa is awesome!! Clean, well stocked, located close to Evergreen lake and shops, and we cannot forget our Premier Guests…our precious wildlife! What a treat to see elk, deer, beavers and a rare glimpse of a coyote. This is our 4th visit to this cabin and we will always consider this our second home. The hosts are superb in every way.

Stay at the Ponderosa

My stay was excellent and everything was clean and tidy. It had everything I needed. The cabin was fantastic, the location great and the Elk and deer walking by every morning was a bonus. Would recommend it for any in wanting to stay in the mountains. The host Spike was the best. Always there with a immediate response to my questions.

Ponderosa House

Spike and Diane are fantastic hosts! Diane has managed to renovate an old property in need of repairs and updates and turned it into a wonderful vacation destination. She maintained the integrity and charm of the old rustic cabin, yet made some changes that provide modern amenities without losing the “cabin-charm”. We loved the property and they attend to every concern immediately. A 5 Star stay!

Awesome property

The pictures don’t do this place justice! A wonderful cabin with great amenities. You’re at the top of the hill and can walk down to the lake and then right into the picturesque town of Evergreen. Go enjoy the mountains and stay here - you’ll be glad you did!

Great location

Great location. Close to downtown Evergreen and many hiking trails. Not too far from denver to visit family. Deer commonly sat in yard. Property well taken care of. Was a great getaway for the month.

Comfortable & serene

We enjoyed our stay. The home is comfortable and was well equipped for our month long stay. Much nicer than average. We noticed that one item hadn’t been replenished for an extended visit and it was delivered promptly. The neighborhood is quiet but the home is near the town, which is charming. My husband and I were easily able to secure daily admission to the beautiful local rec center. Be aware this home may not be suitable for the elderly or disabled, or even young children as the stairs going up to the two bedrooms upstairs are quite steep and there is no upstairs bath. Otherwise, I highly recommend this property.

Wonderful!

Staying at the Ponderosa House was a great way to start the New Year. It was clean, cozy, and complete. Spike was a wonderful host. Evergreen is an ideal location to several places, including ski resorts. The wildlife (deer) was always a pleasure to see in the mornings. Thank you!

Absolutely Wonderful Mountain Cabin!!!

Our 2nd time staying here in this awesome cabin! Everything about this cabin is "top notch!" Super clean, comfy & cozy, all amenities available, superb location, and we consider Spike a super host! We look forward to staying here again when we visit Colorado.

Wedding Trip

We stayed in Evergreen for a family wedding but would definitely return. The town is cute and full of unique establishments. Lots of great hiking/biking in the area. The property was terrific and has a great location. Sitting on the deck and watching the Elk meander through the yard was a highlight.

We had a wonderful time!!

The cabin is everything they say it is. Very comfortable and supplied well in the kitchen. The area around the cabin is beautiful and there’s a nice deck to enjoy the outdoors. The owner is very available for emergency type things!! I hope we stay there next year on our trip!!

We Loved the Ponderosa Mountain Home

Ponderosa Mountain Home is beautiful. Spotless with an airy modern kitchen, rooms are comfortable and spacious, charming, and outfitted with every amenity. The cabin is ideally located and served as home-base for day trips to Vail and Golden. We appreciated the proximity to Red Rocks - the night drive after a concert was definitely exhilarating along Upper Bear Creek Road. There are countless things to do in Evergreen and nearby Golden. On the few rainy days we had during our stay, the cabin had games, a large flatscreen to watch movies, and covered areas of the wraparound porch from which to view the passing elk. We appreciated Spike’s super quick friendly responses to our questions and can’t wait until our next stay!

Mountain Cabin Extraordinaire

The Ponderosa is everything anyone could want in a mountain cabin getaway! Clean, cozy, comfortable, full of amenities, and an ideal location in Evergreen. Early one morning looking through the windows, we counted over 70 elk passing through the yard....what an awesome experience! Spike is a super host! His attention to details and thoughtfulness was much appreciated. We highly recommend staying at the Ponderosa, and look forward to returning on one of our next trips to Colorado.

Lots of elk viewing opportunities!

My stay at the Ponderosa was amazing! I spent a lot of time relaxing on the deck. Most evenings and some mornings, a beautiful 6 point bull elk walked through the yard, stopping to bugle. On one evening, I also got a visit from a mama elk and her baby. And I saw a small herd down the hill at the back of the property. The Ponderosa is tucked away in a small neighborhood not too far from the lake and the downtown area but still feels secluded and peaceful. It took about 5 minutes to pop downtown to pick up food or 10 to get to the nearest grocery store. There are several trailheads 5-10 minutes away. The house was warm and cozy, very clean, well supplied, and had lots of windows to let the mountain sunshine in. Spike (the owner) was flexible, responsive, and very friendly. I loved my stay there and plan to return for another visit in the future.

Great getaway

Such an amazing place to stay in Evergreen. My husband and I and our two dogs had the best time exploring the area and enjoying the lake. It was such a nice and cozy cabin to retreat home to after a day of outdoor adventures. Highly recommend.

Capturing the essence of Colorado

Capturing the essence of Colorado This is a wonderful three bedroom cabin in Evergreen Colorado. It’s about a 45 minute ride to Denver. There are a lot of things to do near Evergreen if you don’t want to stay within the city. The cabin did not have air-conditioning, so it was a little warm during the day. Fans were provided which helped move the warm air through the cabin. Overall excellent stay highly recommend recommend
