Waterfront Cottage on Private Lake with Dock

Our neighbors are starting a remodel of their house. Phase 1 is the removal of trees and the installation of a septic tank during the spring and summer of 2025. Phase 2 is the demolition of the old home starting September 2025. The construction of the new home will start in the fall of 2025. I do not know the completion date. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Nestled between oaks and pines along the East-facing shoreline of Big Sandy Pond, our welcoming little cottage beckons the vacation experience, a perfect spot to relax during the summer. Spend your days kayaking, sailing, fishing, or water skiing from your own private dock on the lake. Swim in the crystal clear lake at the beautiful white sand neighborhood beach a mere two-minute walk away.

The 134-acre lake is managed as a catchable trout pond and is annually stocked in the spring and fall with Brook, Brown, and Rainbow trout. Just 15 minutes from Cape Cod and historic Plymouth and only 45 minutes from Boston and Providence, a myriad of activities await you and your family.

Whether you enjoy water sports, or like to golf, shop, eat, or visit the many nearby historic sites and museums, everyone will find something special at Big Sandy Cottage.

Fully furnished cottage with two bedrooms, sleeping loft, and one bath. Sleeps four in the bedrooms, up to two small kids in the loft, and two additional adults on the living room sofa bed.

Large 10' x 30' deck overlooking the lake is perfect for an afternoon barbecue. Large private dock extends 28' into the lake with a 8' x 16' swim platform

Free Wireless Internet, TV, DVD (with movie library), stereo, provisioned kitchen, and all linens are included.

There is even a basement storage room with laundry facilities. Off street parking with room for boat trailer is available.

Beautiful view

Although I stayed in February watching the surmise over the water was still beautiful. The kitchen is well appointed and beds were cozy. If I’m ever back in Cape Cod, I’d stay again!

Nice and comfy

Cottage had beautiful view and was perfect for our needs. Owner was very friendly and called me when I had a question about the heating/cooling system. Only thing missing was a boat to go fishing in.

Very nice cottage!

Perfect! It was clean upon arrival. Everything you need is provided right down to movies, books, and games. Loved waking up in the morning to the view of the pond and sitting on the spacious deck drinking our coffe. Will definitely stay again. I needed to ask Jeff a couple of questions and he was quick to respond and very accommodating.

Loved my month on the pond

It was love at first sight as soon as I opened the door. I could immediately feel the stress melt away. The cottage was perfect, charming, welcoming, comfortable. Communication with Jeff was good. Loved the morning sunrises and missing them already. It was the perfect month long stay for me. Thank you so much and I hope to go back!

Big Sandy Pond Cottage

Our family really enjoyed the Big Sandy Pond cottage. The location is excellent. Your right on the water for daily fishing and quick drive to Oncet beach which has a ton of hermit crabs. The Plimouth Plantation and Plymouth rock are a short ride away. We also enjoyed the Cape Code Canal. The Hy-line cruises offer sightseeing cruises. The house was sufficiently stock with dishes, pots and pans. The water was clean and beautiful. Thanks for a great vacation. The Edgar Family

Great for day trips. Wonderful morning sun!

The cottage on the lake was perfect for taking day trips to Plymouth, Boston, Lexington/Concord, Cape Cod, and Thomas Land (Edaville Park). It was a great place to come back to after a long day of fun. The view is wonderful in the morning with the sun coming up over the lake. I would defiantly recommend this place if coming to the area for vacation. Works well with kids by having the separate room with twin beds. The dock wasn't out in water as shown in pics, so we couldn't fish off it. I assume because it was brought in for winter. So if wanting to use dock, you may want to ask owner if it will be available for your stay. Owner is very easy to get ahold of if you have any questions. Only reason not giving 5 stars was floors could have been cleaned better. A lot of dog hair on floor and couch.

Big Sandy Pond trip

We spent the week here and absolutely loved it! The lake was so peaceful and the cottage had everything we needed! Jeff was attentive to our questions and promptly had the grill taken care of when it wasn’t working. Our adult daughters joined us for a few days and also loved the stay. We will definitely consider staying again in the future.Charlie and Rebecca

Cute Lake House

Lovely place to stay for a few days! Lots of games and jigsaw puzzles for older kids/adults. Many beautiful sunrises and sunsets viewed from deck. We had an issue with the water being black/iron smell, notified owners with quick response. Plenty of “extras” available throughout house so just had to buy food. Beds very comfortable! Close to historic Plymouth Center & Cape Cod. Small but quaint. All in all kids loved it.

Lovely getaway

My husband and I had a lovely autumn getaway. The cottage is really pretty and cozy situated directly on the lake. Views were beautiful and everything was clean and welcoming. There was even some champagne for us in the fridge. The owner was very responsive to any questions I had. We would stay here again.

Family getaway

Absolutely gorgeous cottage by the lake. It was perfect for our family of 6 that doesn’t want to rent 2 hotel rooms with a view of nothing special. Definitely felt like a family cottage rather than just a rental property.

Quite, serene & clean

Beautiful perch overlooking Big Sandy Pond. All the amenities necessary at hand including a well maintained gas grill. Was pleased to have an adequate and very quiet A/C system during one of the warmer weeks of the early summer season. Owner was quickly responsive to some initial day one questions. Dock at the waters edge in great shape. Only missing wished for extra, would have been a canoe or any means to float upon the pond. All in all a great overall cottage, setting & stay!

Great Getaway

Perfect sized cottage overlooking beautiful pond. Owner was very responsive to questions and easy to work with. We came on a rainy/cold 4 day weekend so didn’t get to enjoy anything but the view. The property is clean and updated. Would definitely recommend and return.

beautiful lake (pond) home

We stayed for a few days in September while the weather was still nice and warm, we enjoyed the view and while neighbors are close the location is quiet and peaceful. Check in / check out was easy and the owner communicated directly, responded to questions quickly and made sure we had everything we needed.

Karyn and Jeff are originally from Plymouth, MA and Berkeley, CA. Over the last 40 years they have also lived in New Zealand, England, Hawaii, Washington, and New York. They work in the travel industry and love to travel with their three children, Kelly, Kaili, and Tommy.
