Cozy cabin nestled in the Ozark woods

We're warm friendly people who have a lovely blended family with 5 children & 12 grandchildren. Larry is from KS and Fran is from Miami, FL. We've been married for 7 1/2 years and still consider ourselves newlyweds. Larry is a Kansas State University graduate and loves Kansas State football. We also love the Kansas City Chiefs football team and enjoy watching their games on TV. For Christmas last year our son gave us matching KC Chiefs jerseys; Fran's first jersey! Fran came to Springfield, MO to go to college and then spent 19 years living in Africa. Larry got weary of retirement and has had a Furniture Store and Tea Room in Rogersville for 20 years. Rogersville is our home and we love it here on our 26 wooded acres. We hope you will too.

When Larry retired from the government in 1994 his youngest daughter lived in Springfield, about 30 minutes from Rogersville. He loved the area and the fact that it was wooded and scenic having come from the wide open spaces of Kansas. He bought this land and built the cabin which the family lived in while they had the main house built. He's lived here ever since and would find it difficult to ever leave. He loves gardening and we have a beautiful Hosta Garden, and many other beautiful flowers and flowering trees native to this area. We're surrounded in the Spring with Dogwood and Red bud trees. These are two of Fran's favorites! We have a lovely pond that's a natural aquifer and never goes dry. Larry planted Cat tails where Red Winged Blackbirds come every year to nest and have their babies. He also planted Willow trees and Bald Cypress around the lake. In addition to our beautiful birds that we feed, we have all kinds of wildlife that visit us from time to time. We see Deer on a regular basis as they love grazing in our meadows, Foxes, Raccoons, Groundhogs, Squirrels, Chipmunks, Armadillos, Opossums, Coyotes and we even had a young Black Bear come by once. Birding is Fran's hobby and we have about 15 varieties of birds that we see regularly and many more seasonally. We also have owls and hawks that live in our woods and are here all the time. We don't feed them though. LOL!
