Located off of Gordon Lane, this historic brick carriage house sits in the tree-lined residential area of the downtown historic district. You won't compromise location, as this property is only one block from the Fountain at Forsyth Park. Whether booking for a couples getaway, or an extended stay, you'll enjoy your stay at Birds Nest Carriage House.

Upon entering you are greeted by a charming, spiral, wrought iron staircase that leads to the studio. Up-top you will find the unit to be packed with amenities, such as a stove top, fridge, large bathroom, and two spacious closets. You'll feel at home here with a spot to store all your luggage, and a lovely renovated bathroom with a spacious shower A Queen size bed sits in the middle of the room, with a smart TV at the foot of the bed for you to enjoy after exploring the city all day.

Guests are also able to enjoy the private tree-lined courtyard, shared with the garden-level tenants. Due North you'll come across many of Savannah's local shops, cafes, and eateries.

Parking for this home is on-street and metered, which is enforced by the City of Savannah Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.

We can welcome your dog companions at this pet friendly home, but ask that you find other arrangements for cats, birds, and other furry friends. There is a $130 pet fee (non-refundable) with a 35 lb. maximum weight limit per dog and a limit of 2 dogs per reservation. Some homes may allow larger dogs, please inquire for more information.

Awesome location and perfect place

Wife and I had a wonderful time and the Birds Nest was perfect. Beautiful and historic. Met the owner and a lovely man.

The convenient location of the property was nice. Very close to everything in Savannah. But the property itself was not impressive for what we paid, being an alleyway. The first door with a security lock was a thin, wooden door - a bit sketchy- and there wasn’t a mention of the narrow winding staircase we had to climb to get to our room. The room itself was clean and the bathroom was fine. The neighbors were in close quarters with the shared patio and if there was a conversation or someone walking around, we heard it all so it was not very relaxing. If you’re looking for just a place to sleep and you’re spending all of your time moving around Savannah, then this place would be fine.

This property is in a great location, right around the corner from Forsyth Park. Nice space, large for a studio and a pretty courtyard.

Sweet Quiet and Convenient

Nice little studio that is very close to everything. We would have walked everywhere, except it was awfully hot. Instead we took the free Purple Dot Express from the stop at the end of the street. Since we arrived by bicycle, it was so nice to have a spot to have them safe and secure. Thank you so much for having us.

Nice Quaint Place

Great, relaxing getaway!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful, homey accommodations. Close to parks and easy to get around all areas of Savannah. I suggest getting a Visitor's parking pass from the City of Savannah. That's much easier than worrying about paying parking meters if you are staying for a while.

Cozy getaway

Room is just as pictured. Property was walking distance to the lively downtown area and a block from Forsyth Park. The nearby courtyard made it feel very romantic. Entrance was through a secluded back alley and 2 locked doors between the unit and the world. Felt very safe, not sketch at all. Access is only via a winding staircase so I don't recommend booking this if you're bringing large luggage or have accessibility issues. Management was quick to respond and easy to communicate with. Would book again!

Quaint but Comfortable

Very clean and comfy. Everything you need if you are low maintenance. Bit of an odd entrance. Have to go through back alley and up some very old and small stairs. Did not hang out in courtyard because it is shared with neighbors and there were shirtless guys hanging out there. Other than that, an enjoyable stay. Close to parks and shops. Comfy bed, good water pressure in shower. Small fridge and freezer supplied as well as an oven and cooking utensils. Additional gate locks for safety. Once we figured out where it was located, everything went well.

Carriage House

Wonderful unit in a very quiet neighborhood. Close to everything. A few small items: Door lock to main unit was testy. Had to try it a few times to get it to open. Front door to property lock was fine. It would be nice if there was a light in the pantry area.

Cute getaway weekend getaway spot

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was very cute however we were bummed that the place had quite a bit of sugar ant infestation in the bathroom and kitchen sink area. Would highly suggest owners to take care of that problem before letting anyone else stay. Super cute place but I think it would also benefit from a bed upgrade. The room is small anyhow so may as well have king size bed to really feel comfy at night. No dishwasher although it says there is one. Overall... I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. Best part was the great location although it’s a bit challenging navigating the tiny spiral staircase. Wouldn’t recommend this location for anything longer than a weekend or just over.

Great location, but place was meh

Pros: Being close to Forsyth Park, Collins Quarter nearby with great breakfast, beautiful neighborhood. Cons: Shower was extremely dirty and clearly hadn't been wiped down between stays - there was a big gross brown stain that washed halfway when the shower water hit it, indicating no one had even tried to clean it. We logged on to use the smart TV and under the Netflix profiles was a profile with the name 'J*zz Master' which was gross/creepy. Also, there was an extremely unsettling painting of a man staring at you that you face when coming out of the shower and above the toilet. The place was cheap for the location, so I guess my expectations shouldn't have been too high, but we will definitely be staying in a hotel for our next visit. Also, why did no one tell me that all of these 'renovated' carriage houses were likely former slave quarters?? We learned that on a historical ghost tour and it rubbed me the wrong way, to say the least.

A dream

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: So much to say about this place. The location - amazing, the design - beautiful, the bed - comfortable. We had an amazing stay here for 3 nights while we were in town for a wedding. My wife and I both worked remotely from the rental unit on the first night, then proceeded to enjoy the silence and ambiance of the unit for the next two nights. During our stay we found ourselves walking around Forsyth park or into town quite often, the location is unbeatable! Our favorite part of the trip was our final night there where we spent the evening in the courtyard and were able to meet the hosts as well as the other tenet. It was a perfect atmosphere.I do not know how soon we will be back in Savannah but next time we come, we will absolutely be looking for this unit again. 10/10!

I lobed how this property was so close to everything. The space was clean, decorated retro like. Very comfortable bed and it had all the necessary features you’ll need to make your stay comfortable. One con I would say is the stairs. But other than that it was perfect!

Reviewer Comments: I recently stayed at this charming apartment and overall had a pleasant experience. The location is fantastic, with nearby free parking for those who are resourceful. The neighborhood is quiet and offers easy access to restaurants, parks, squares, SCAD, and the historic district. Additionally, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the bathroom was spacious, with a hot shower and an ample supply of towels. The functioning AC added to the comfort of the stay, although it was a bit noisy.On the downside, the access to the apartment door is through an alley that is cluttered with trashcans, which may not be ideal for some guests. The steep and somewhat intimidating stairway leading to the door could pose a challenge for individuals with mobility issues. Furthermore, there was a significant amount of light intrusion during the night, which affected the overall ambiance of the apartment.The kitchen, although equipped with essentials like paper towels, dish soap, and a sponge, felt a bit cramped and lacked some basic cooking essentials due to limited space and a small fridge. The absence of items like salt, pepper, cooking oil, and condiments made it less user-friendly for those who enjoy cooking during their stay.In summary, this apartment is a cozy and convenient choice for those seeking a peaceful retreat in a prime location. Great weekend stay just off the beaten path.

Perfect location. Walkable to many sites and restaurants. Perfect size. Close to DOT shuttle for transportation in town We would stay here again. Felt safe. Only issue is no defined parking
