Air conditioning in all three rooms was great. Overall the rooms were good. One of the rooms was quite musty. The location is great. Short walk to Richardson beach park. Close to town and the airport. Host was very quick to respond to any concerns and very friendly. Kitchen was good and clean. Nice view of the ocean from the lanai.

Joseph was prompt with responses. We enjoyed the location just across from the beach, and the outdoor space was lovely. There was some noise at night from the local young folks, but it always quieted down by bedtime (for boomers ). Understanding that the tropical weather and salt spray is hard on things, the doors (and there are several!) need to be cleaned up on the outsides. Also, although the beds were comfy, the linens and pillows could use some refreshing. Check out was a breeze! All in all we were very satisfied with the house!

Not recommended to swim in ponds in yard by owners Check In book. Lots of mosquitoes. Tv in primary would not stay on. Road in front is busy from kids doing burn outs every night. BBQ was broke. Otherwise it is as pictured. Had fun going to Volcano. Kona side was nice and warm.

Clean place located close to a very good snorkeling spot. The house had some parts nicely redone - wood floor, kitchen and bathrooms. Outdoor is a bit tired. It misses a dining area inside when it rains (which it often does) and if you don’t want to be having dinner w mosquitoes in the evening. The 3 bedrooms are very spacious, 2 are not connected to the main living area so is good for couples needing privacy, maybe less adapted for younger children. Garden is a good place to explore with a cool pond/natural pool. Location is great for snorkeling but a 10min drive to the town centre. Overall a decent option but seems overpriced.

This property is fantastic. The setting is incomparable, on lagoons and surrounded by dense rainforest.Pepe was extremely responsive to any issues. The house is better appointed than any other rental property I’ve ever stayed in.

Nicely furnished, and spacious unit with beautiful lanai overlooking a natural titled pond. Each of the bedrooms had first class feds and Full en suite bathrooms. Very effective air conditions for all bedrooms. The location is amazing – right across the street from a beautiful beach with excellent snorkeling and tide pools.

A perfect property to experience the rawness of the island of Hawai’i. The home has modern updates to the kitchen and bathrooms but still keeps the authentic original plantation style build on the nature landscape of lava tubes and natural springs. The house is situated off the main drag through Hilo across from some cool black rock and black sand beaches. Expect to see turtles and beautiful coastal landscape you can only find on this particular island. With that, it’s a local friendly spot that can get noisy from cultural street burnouts and loud music. But it usually always goes quiet by 9:00. The listing is as advertised and you’ll be surrounded by real nature. Nature can be loud at night and bugs can be a problem at times but it’s a great way to explore this island and the town of Hilo. We will be back.

the property was very clean. we have been to Hawaii the last 4 years and this is by far the best place we have stayed in. The pictures on VRBO are just like the place looks.

We had a great stay and this property had lots of great things going for it. Pepe, the host was very helpful and even provided his cell phone number so that you could reach him directly verus using the cumbersome VRBO chat system. The highlights of our stay include the perfect location right across the street from a very nice park with a small sandy beach for easy access to the lagoon but also rocks in the deep areas for good snorkeling. The property is very scenic with it's small ponds and very good setback from the road. The property is gated for security and the 3 bedrooms have their own entrances to the deck that surrounds the house which gives lots of privacy.

Gorgeous location with an outstanding property.

We loved the relaxed atmosphere of the area and the house was beautiful! I would go back again! Pepe made it so easy for us to get into the house (we got in rather late on our first day). Awesome home and property manager.

Lovely Healing Pond House

Our stay at the lovely healing pond house in Hilo was amazing! It was everything that we hoped it would be. It was clean, updated, in a beautiful location, close to snorkeling and town. Swimming in the pond was a wonderful experience as well. We would definitely recommend it and stay there again.

This was the perfect house for the 4 of us. The location is very close to the park and beaches. The kids enjoyed their private bed and bath. We all very much enjoyed the porch to watch the ocean overlooking the pond with the koi. So relaxing! The owner was also fantastic. Our questions were answered almost immediately! Thank you so much!

Just perfect

We loved having the beach across the street. Sunrise out on the rocks. Fish and frogs and geckos greeted us. And the A/C was wonderful.

Spot check cleaning on window sill (insect carcasses) and dusty bedside lampshades. One of our friends was badly bitte on the main sofa while watching tv. Laundry machine dials need good a wipedown. Would have liked more coffee on hand, but we bought Kcups at the store. Otherwise, great rooms and decor! Mahalo for your convenient property to enjoy Merrie Monarch :)
